Louis II2 Rue Saint-Sulpice, 06. Saint-Germain - Luxembourg, 75006 Paris (Show map) Very good, Score from 128 reviews“The Wildesque style of the manager, the clean, newly installed bathroom (rather rare in Paris), the 'period' ambience in the breakfast room, the location.”

Within a stone’s throw of Jardin du Luxembourg and Carrefour de l’Odéon, this lovely little manor, offers the comfort of a high-standard stylish hotel. In the heart of a district typical of the old Paris, with freestone buildings, little cafes and restaurant busy with peaceful community life, the hotel features 22 bright rooms and junior suites with classic interior design. The Louis II is in the district of the editors and booksellers, the cradle of the intellectual and artistic heritage of Paris and is a great jumping-off point for experiencing the French capital. Service was really good especially from a man called Louis. I only met him a few times since he went for a summer holiday, I believe. He was really soft spoken and helpful. While he was away there were some people who replaced him and they were helpful as well. A man named Thomas however, was always tense but helpful nevertheless, even though I did not feel as welcomed. The location is excellent. Close to the metro station and Luxembourg garden, and numerous eateries. My favourite thing to do was buy a 4 euro crepe at avant comptoir and eat at the bench in the garden. My other fave thing was the free wifi. Before this, I stayed at a five star hotel in Paris for 3 nights. Wifi was free, but slow. You had to buy the 'fast' wifi. After buying the fast wifi, I was still disappointed because the connection was dreadful. At Louis II, as long as you are a guest, wifi is free. All you need to do is get a new password every 4 days. Also, printing is free. As long as you dont print ridiculous amount, that is. My only warning to future guests is since this location is central and situated among eateries, it can be quite noisy even in the wee hours of the morning. If this is a bother to you, request for a room on the top floor in the corner. I slept here for 11 nights and was pleased with it as it was not as noisy as my 3rd floor middle room which I occupied for 3 nights. I could still hear people downstairs but not as bad and could sleep well. After mentioning the noise while I was still sleeping in the middle room, Louis immediately offered me the room at a higher floor. I did not even expect that, so it was great. Also, if you have never been to Paris before, expect a small room just a bit bigger than your bed.Apparently this is the standard in Paris.

Great location in the heart of the St Germaine district. Hotel staff are very helpful and knowledgeable about things to do and places to visit, where to get reserve tickets etc. Rooms are quite comfortable and spotlessly clean. Not the cheapest place to stay but still competitive to similar Hotels of this class in Paris. Some great restaurants & Cafes nearby.

Situated in one of the most beautiful areas of Paris with immediate access to St. Germain, St. Sulpice and Jardin Luxembourg. The room was typically small but this is the same for most of the Parisien hotels. The layout in the room though was efficient with a very large and bright bathroom (with two large windows), The receptionist was very welcoming and created the right atmosphere for this small boutique hotel. Few negatives, the outside street is busy and so not as quiet as many side streets, but again this is Paris. In summer it may be worse as we closed the windows at night to keep out the noise. The tv system is only French channels which surprised me in a hotel where clearly many of the clientele are not French - a few token news channels would help.

The Wildesque style of the manager, the clean, newly installed bathroom (rather rare in Paris), the 'period' ambience in the breakfast room, the location. I won't mention the size of the room although this matters to many people; but I didn't like the low and short bed, the soft mattress, the noise in the street.

The hotel is perfectly located in the middle of Paris, in a small street which keeps the noise level down. The room was very clean but don't expect something big. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Beautifully decorated, excellent staff, very efficient and helpful. I suppose the only thing that was missing was a hotel restaurant, but given the fact that there were about 20 restaurants steps from the front door, that wasn't a big problem.

Top location in "rive gauche", bars, restaurants, shops all at hand, close by metro 4 and 10. Romantic building and rooms. Great breakfast in weekends until 12:00 with boiled eggs, cheese and cereals! Eevator, stairs and rooms are all small but it works well.

Great location in St Germain Tiny room and bathroom (Rm 22). Dated leopard print carpet did the room no favours. Noisy area. We booked through Booking.com but had to pay hotel by credit card, thereby picking up extra costs. Also, enquired about booking a cab and accepted the offer of having one booked for us, only to then be charged Eu 2.50 for the privilege, and when we got the cab it already had Eu12 on the meter 'because of the pre-booking' - not impressed; especially as there is a taxi rank about 2 mins walk away.

Lovely, charming hotel with good update. The concierges at all hours were very attentive and responsive. The room was small, but as I read in other's reviews, it was very well laid out, well appointed and storage was handy. So we had places to put everything. The bathroom was nice and the windows block out most of the sound of the busy street below. There was a lift to get up to our 4th floor. But we liked walking down the old winding staircase. The toilet was separate which was nice. But a little tight quarters. Having WiFi in our room was a lifesaver and the option of breakfast. There was air conditioning and heating which was good. But wished we had known how to use it sooner. Close to food, metros, St. Germain some checklist items. Very happy with our decision to stay there. Need more info on a/c and heater, when you come in.

Louis II is a great place to stay in Paris. It's unpretentious, charming, and very comfortable, even though the rooms are small. Located in Saint Germain de Pres, it is easily accessible to all the great sights in this lovely city and affordable.

Exellent locatiion, lot's of restaurants and quality shops within walking distance, Metro acces next door, very friendly and helpfull staff, clean room and rest of building, quiet end well operating airco, good /complete breakfast, assisance and deal for nearby parking garage, not too noisy street. Rooms very small, even for Paris standards, no desk to work on/eat your breakfast, no place to store a small suitcase, so ok for just a few nights without too much luggage.

This hotel was perfectly located in the heart of Saint-Germain. The staff was incredibly friendly and the rooms were impeccably clean. Do not expect large rooms because you just won't find them anywhere in Paris (at least not at this price). If your primary concerns are location, cleanliness, and staff, then seriously give this charming hotel your consideration. We will book here again when we return.

The staff here were very friendly and helpful in tracking down train schedules, opening hours, and other tourist information. The rooms are quite small (e.g. in our room the toilet door couldn't be opened without bumping into the bed) but the location is super.

“I really enjoyed staying at the Cecillia as it was run by friendly and courteous staff. It was very clean and the breakfast was lovely and plenty to eat. It was very near to the attractions and the bus to the airport was only round the corner. I will definately be going back to stay there and would recommend it to anyone.” Jean, Manchester |
