Luccotel  

The location was excellent, just on the edge of a very beautiful, well kept medieval town. Staff were extremely helpful. Only there for two nights, but would like to re-visit.

Stayed here many times the restaurant food not as good as we have had in the past Too much Nouvau cuisine

Professional, comfortable and not too impersonal. Although I normally stay in smaller, non chain hotels, this was really quite nice and I would happily recommend. Close to town and a beautiful view ofthe castle!

Very easy to find - well sited. Comfortable and quiet room in Motel area. Excellent dinner.

The grounds - excellent. Very convenient for discovering Loches.

Bedrooms, perhaps, need refurbishment

Although simple, our room in the main building was clean and comfortable, with a reasonable size bathroom, and it had the added bonus of air conditioning. The view from the terrace, over Loches, is fabulous, and we really appreciated our evening meal on the terrace, watching the lights come on in Loches. The restaurant menu is very good and we really liked the fact that there is free choice (provided you have not booked demi pension); the price is simply calculated on the number of courses you have - 22 euros for two courses, 28 for three, and we didn't need to consider four courses because portion sizes were good. Even with aperitifs, wine with dinner and beer/wine on the terrace in the afternoon, we considered our stay to be very good value. We used the hotel as an overnight stop on the way back from the south of France, and will certainly do so again; we are also considering using it when we tour the Loire chateaux, as it is centrally placed and has good access to main roads.

The hotel was very clean and comfortable and the staff were all friendly and helpful which made us feel very welcome. Although check in time was 3pm we arrived much earlier and our rooms were ready for us. Breakfast was good but would advise that you go earlier rather than later as you will get more choice. If we visit the area again we would definately use the Luccotel.

Soundproofing was poor in the annexe and our peace was disturbed by noisy, drunken neighbours.

Likes: Clean functional rooms. Excellent facilities incl indoor heated pool, table & outdoor tennis, bar/lounge, and an very good resto with beautiful view over Loches' Cité Medieval. Breakfast is very French, IMO good, not great but croissants are fresh baked! Staff is friendly and helpful. parking is plentiful and close to entries. Location is long walk/quick drive to all major sites and shopping. Also perfect launch pad for exploring Tours to Blois along Loire. Also very dog-friendly. Overall: 8.5/10 and VFM: 9.5/10

Nothing more than nagging issues but places where improvement would increase satisfaction: Breakfast a bit pricey for what they provide, rooms a bit spartan - but for the money one can't complain. Booking.com specifically stated rooms were AirCon but upon arrival the remote was missing - when queried, staff said "Il n'y pas mise en route" meaning "it isn't the time to start it yet" despite the 26*C day time temps. Window open afforded mozzies direct access at night. Either put in screen mesh or give out the remote on hot days. Hotel advertises Canal+ but it requires an extra payment. Again, not deal-breakers, just leaves a bad taste.

Le calme.l'independance .la proximite de la voiture. Chambre agreable et petit dejeuner parfait pour commencer une journee de travail. Le rapport qualite prix est bon seule la literie est un peu juste.
