Set in a typical 19th century French building with its typical freestone facade, the hotel boasts a privileged location near some of the most famous sites and attractions of Paris.

Hotel Lumen Paris Louvre is situated within a stone’s throw of the Louvre Museum, Opera, Place Vendôme, and prestigious Saint Honoré street. It has just recently opened its doors at the beginning of September 2007.

The interior decoration by the architect Alain Daronian and designer Claudio Colucci combines quaint and contemporary style, and it reflects the main light theme of this deluxe hotel.

Hotel Lumen is situated in the heart of Paris, halfway between the Louvre, Opera Garnier and Place Vendôme, round the corner of famous Saint Honoré shopping street.

Among the nearby attractions, you will find:

The Palais Royal: a palace and garden located near the Ier arrondissement of Paris. Opposite the north wing of the Louvre, its famous forecourt (cour d'honneur) screened with columns (since 1986 containing Daniel Buren's site-specific artpiece) faces the Place du Palais-Royal, which was much enlarged by Baron Haussmann after the Rue de Rivoli was built for Napoleon. Today it houses the Conseil d'État, the Constitutional Council, and the Ministry of Culture.

The Tuileries Garden (French Jardin des Tuileries) which is surrounded by the Louvre (to the east), the Seine (to the south), the Place de la Concorde (to the west) and the Rue de Rivoli (to the north).

Place Vendôme, a square in the 1st arrondissement of Paris located to the north of the Tuileries Gardens and east of the Église de la Madeleine. It is the starting point of the Rue de la Paix. Its regular architecture by Jules Hardouin-Mansart and pedimented screens canted across the corners give the rectangular Place Vendôme the aspect of an octagon.

The location is very central and nearby main metro lines. Staff very helpful and cordial. Just 1 min walk to a tourist information office which we found very useful.

Choice of breakfast was limited and the maid just knocked at the door and entered even if we were inside the room!

The hotel roon was lovely and was very clean. The hotel staff were very friendly and we were very pleased when we received a complimentry bottle of wine. The hotel is in a great location, a stones throw from the Louvre a number of metro stops.

Our only dislike was the noise of the morning bells of the church Saint Roche (located behind the hotel). If you are an early riser (7-8am) it is fine but if you are not and are a light sleeper then we would recommend to bring earplugs. Other than that we could not fault this hotel.

Bed and pillows. We didn't take breakfast but it was added (20 eu per
person) to the bill, so, check your bill carefully

The hotel was recently refurbished and all rooms are new and of high standard. Also, the location is very central.

Most rooms are facing a busy street that is used by cars and motorcycles throughout the night. I found it impossible to find any sleep.
