Les Portes du Soleil is one of the largest ski areas in the world. It is located in the Alps, between Mont Blanc in France and Lake Geneva in Switzerland, just 1 hour from Geneva International Airport.

This region includes the 8 French ski resorts of Abondance, Avoriaz, Châtel, La Chapelle d'Abondance, Les Gets, Montriond, Morzine and Saint-Jean-d’Aulps. There are also 5 Swiss resorts: Champéry, Morgins, Val d’Illiez, Les Crosets and Champoussin.

Well-linked by road and slopes, some of the resorts are picturesque towns with pretty chalets, while some have more modern buildings. In the region you will also find 10 snow parks and 90 on-slope restaurants. Summer activities include hiking and mountain biking.

Vanaf aankomst en eigenlijk daarvoor al, zijn we helemaal ontzorgt. Zo waren skipassen geregeld door het hotel en werden we iedere ochtend naar een skilift van onze keuze gereden. 's middags een belletje en we werden weer opgehaald, top! Faciliteiten spa, sauna, skilockers, lounge met haard, etc. zijn super. Goed ontbijt. Parkeren ook geen probleem. Acceuil très agréable et très à l'écoute du client. Ambiance chaleureux. On se sentait un peu serré dans la chambre. Un grand fauteuil prenait toute la place devant l'accès au lavabo et aux armoires. Anonymous Young couple United Kingdom March 20, 2012	Nice hotel, a little diapointed in the room, I took my wife away for a special birthday and had asked the hotel to make sure every thing was perfect, arrived and was offered so no help with bags to the room, the room was tiny with a view over the local mini mart, and were woken up at 6am each morning with the noise from the delivery trucks, bath tub was no more than a large sink, the pool is ok however I like to get up early and swim neither steam room or sauna was turned on at that time (7.30am) and lack of changing rooms.. Over all it was ok , however not sure wether it should be classed as 4 star.. dissopinting hotel for the price.
