Many things. Style, design, restaurant, friendly, helpful staff, clean contemporary look, extremely convenient car parking facilities.
Funky lamps: very stylish but nit functional, Dark rooms, dark lifts and no space in the fridge to keep even one small pastry!
Very comfie bed & bedding.
Was too dark to see in the room. Not enough lights. Very very small room. No soap holder.
Friendly staff and ease of transport to the city centre
There was't the possibility to prepare a coffee or a cup of tea with sugar!
Creative concept Friendly staff Excellent breakfast buffet Heavenly beds
Tiny bathroom Rooftopterrace was closed the whole weekend/3 days we were there although the sun was shining We came here on honeymoon but there was no upgrade or anything
Quiet room, but bustling bar/restaurant. Black decor made for good sleep. Excellent shower.
No tea/coffee making facilities. Did not manage to open the mini bar/fridge.
Seriously trendy hotel, our teenagers loved the iMacs, really clean soundproof rooms. Pizza restaurant was superb. Great showers and good hairdryer. Location worked well easily accessible for the RER, and good places to eat in the 20e arrondisement.
Too dark generally and the lights appeared to be dimmed in the room. Also we had a microwave but would really have preferred a fridge. Would also expect a gym in a modern hotel like this.
the decor and the staff
the location, very far from the centre and the area was really suburbian,no restaurants around .
Staff were very helpful and cheerful Restaurant food excellent as was the service Room clean Location was great in an interesting and upcoming area. Good to be out of city centre, but may not suit if doing standard tourist visit due to journey required to centre.
Room was a bit stark (no pun intended!) and expected it be a bit larger
love the design details of the hotel, the general atmosphere is very cool, modern and relaxed (unusual in Paris). The breakfast is great. the bar/restaurante is really fashionable now, always busy. Allready booked the mama shelter istanbul for my next holidays, just loved the general concept of it
the only minor problem is the location... it is a bit far from the center (1 hour walk from the hotel de ville), but there is a great bus just in front of the hotel that goes directly to the center (marais / louvre), and metro lines are 10 minute walk. Only problem is after the closing time of the metro/bus lines, as taxis at night in paris are absurdly difficult to catch!!!
Great hotel. This was a nice-fresh-modern experience!!
The difference between a great hotel and an average hotel are the details. For example, Mama Shelter place a list of things to do as well as the weather forecast beside the elevator. Their cocktails are expensive but worth it, I've never had better. Staff are friendly and the overall design of the hotel is second to none. I've been in some hotels that try to be like this but don't succeed. Will definitely be recommending it to friends.
Only complaint is that that the beds are too small. I rolled out while turning over to switch off my alarm clock!
The design of this hotel is very modern and the restaurant in amazing! I definitely planned my trip specifically to stay at this property.
Just be aware that to get to the sites of Paris most areas are a 2 metro ride. They are a 10 min walk between the 2 and the 3 lines. Pretty easy, just FYI.
The restaurant was amazing. Rooms are highly affordable and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and spoke English.
Although there's no room service, it forces you to get out and venture around which I appreciate!
Hotel was easy to find Well appointed rooms with a very comfortable bed, and quality bedding. Quiet (we were on the top floor) The finish, fixtures and fittings in the shower and washroom. Decent free movie channel Access to e mail and internet (even though I didn't use it) Free maps of the city Friendly staff The roof terrace
Would have liked to see a kettle plus tea and coffee in the room. The room lighting was too low for me...a ceiling room light would have brightened things up a bit. BUT..these are secondary points though as the accommodation was very good.
-design -free movies -out of the tourist centre location -easy to reach by car -good parking garage
Great staff; unfortunately, they were unable to get our wifi working. But overall, very impressive place. Very chic.
Wifi didn't work any of the three nights we stayed.
The beds were really comfortable and loved the free movies. Pizzeria was excellent and the staff were really helpful. Looked really cool and didn't feel too faraway from the city centre.
Got the wrong pizza but it didn't bother us. The waiting time at the bar was beyond 15min which is annoying when you just want a beer. The cleaning staff are very eager to clean your room while you are still packing to leave.
The concept of the hotel
The location and the knolage of the staff about restorants things to do ....
The staff the hotel restorant and the concept.
Love the vibe of this place. Really good service. Wonderful stay
I liked it a lot !
A bit expensive and far from the city.
If you favor function over style, do not go there! Everything is done in an "artsy" way due to the architect in charge, but basically it is not very suited to live in. Do not bother to go at night to the restaurant, food is average and overpriced, and service is abysmal, instead go to "Le papillon" nearby, food is fabulous, and service is fantastic, you will have a delightful night for a very good price, which is exactly the opposite of the Mama Shelter experience.
Unprofessional staff (too young, not trained, too high turn over), complex parking rules, non working electronic cards for door opening, absolutely dysfunctional lift which made everyone crazy, the buttons are not even lighted correctly, no true mini bar but only a refrigerated can dispenser, micro wave included but absolutely no kitchen tools, small room for the price. The list of problems is too long to include in full.
Great interior design. Great bed. Amazing setup and entertainment in the room. Staff very helpful and professional. Incredible pizza resturant.
Location was poor. About 10 minutes from Alexander Dumas Station which is then about 15-20 minutes into town changing once or twice.
Clean familiar and easy
A bit too dark.
