The location -Enjoyed the isolation away from traffic, and the outlook. Beautiful villages close by No coffee/ tea facilities in the room, and not having launcher facilities is a downside for international visitors

A very attractive hotel in a beautiful, peaceful location. We loved the view of the Rance, the walk around the estuary and the close proximity to several places of interest. The owners were very friendly and accommodating and the standards of furnishings, equipment and cleanliness were high. We would happily stay there again and will be recommending it to our friends.

This hotel has a very large and well maintained garden, and has beautiful surroundings. The building and rooms add to the perfectly peaceful and quiet environment. Nevertheless, it is still very close to the main roads, right in between St Malo and Dinan. We received a very warm welcome here, and enjoyed our stay very much.

Very comfortable. Lovely views. Nice breakfast. Peaceful. Would definately visit again. Feeling that the Bar was something to be manned for a few hours, rather than somewhere to be encouraged to enter and stay.

The room was very cosy, comfy pillows and blankets. Authentic design and absolute silence. Breakfast was simple but good and tasty. A little dust in corners, internet connections was not perfect.

Beautiful views of the Rance Valley Our room had a peculiar smell, perhaps of mildew -- not overpowering, but noticeable.

The country setting was very nice, and the owner was extremely helpful in giving us directions and suggestions of places to go in the area. The room was clean and very quiet, and very spacious. The bathroom had only a tub with hand shower....I much prefer a regular shower.

Friendly and helpful staff; provided wonderful directions and suggestions for sites. Comfortable rooms. Filling breakfast. Nothing that I didn't like. Be aware that this is in the country and nearest restaurant is a few miles (km).

We liked everything. Patrick the innkeeper was extraordinarily helpful. The renovated barn complex is gorgeous, and we found it all together a lovely introduction to the Rance River valley.

This is the best location for visiting Brittany by car. 15-20 minutes drive to Dinan, Dinard or St. Malo, 45 minute drive to Mont Saint Michel. The view from the hotel/room (of the countryside and the lake/river) is unbelievably beautiful. Patrick (the host) took great care of the facility, everything is spotless clean. He is very approachable, patiently answering every question we had (mostly regarding traffic because of the construction going on that shut down part of the main highway leading into the area). The room was very spacious, has a little sitting area and an attic, which was a blast for my 4-year old son. Breakfast costs 8.5 euros, not cheap, but worth it. The nearest town is about 2km away, which also has a grocery (Super u) and laundry machines, not to mention several good local restaurants. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Le site, les bâtiments, la décoration des chambres et des parties communes sont magnifiques. Comme a dit une dame anglaise "it is more than beautiful". Accueil soigné, petit déjeuner copieux et excellent, conseils de visite avisés. Un bonheur... Les chambres étaient un tout petit peu trop sonores (on entend les toilettes / douches des chambres attenantes), mais rien de catastrophique.

“The hotel was in a quiet, pretty town (Cancale) which is famous for its Oysters and other seafoods and it has great access to the sights of Brittany. The staff were superb; helpful, friendly, always going the extra mile - this especially applied to Lucile, who couldn't have done more for us. Excellent breakfast and a lovely room.” Robert, Clayton Bay |
