Maryse and Jean-Pierre may be the sweetest and friendliests hosts in the world. We were interested in driving around D-Day beaches and museums and we found this hotel to be the perfect place to be in the middle of everything.
our hosts were amazing. Really friendly, warm and welcoming. Lovely breakfast on beautifully laid out table.
I strongly recommend the bed and breakfast of Maryse and Jean Pierre. The location is fantastic and the hosts are really nice and helpful. It's a peacefully place and it's really nearby to visit all the plages of the debarquement. The breakfast is lovely, the confitures homemade. I love this place
It's quite difficult to reach, because there is no a ensign. Please make sure to have the GPS or the phone number of the hosts!
Traditional accommodation, just right after long journey.Host recommended restaurants in the harbour village a couples of km away. Lovely breakfast.
The breakfast!! Variety of homemade french breads and jams; piping hot tea and coffee. Each morning the table was decorated with a different theme... ladybugs, seashells. Maryse and Jean-Pierre speak little English and we speak little French, so our communications were limited, but the friendliness came through regardless of the language barrier. The location was close to the D-Day beaches, and was a pleasant farm vista. The local town has quite a few good restaurants, with lots of seafood. We went back to the Pizzeria-Creperie twice for the steaming pot of mussels.
Difficult to find... it will help you to know that the house does not "face" the street, but opens onto the rear. You go back a small lane, or driveway, to get there. It's worth the effort.
What a charming couple who were so warm hearted and friendly.. Our room was at the top of a winding staircase of stone.. quiet and peaceful. A perfect location for viewing the beaches of Normandy and the D-Day history..
the egyptian cat was a bit weird but luckily they kept her in their home and not near the guest rooms.
We liked the proximity to Dray beaches. Owners were very helpful with reccomendations.
Very nice place, nice people who run it.
Difficult to find and expensive, isolated if your on a Bike or Walking!
I stayed for 3 weeks and loved the location which is extremely close to D-Day landing beaches. Maryse & Jean-Pierre went above and beyond to look after me and my horse. The facilities are clean and historical. Fabulous time
Country village location. Friendly owners
No soap in bathroom. Top floor stair landing not rail guarded.
Maryse was extremely friendly and made our short stay really great! The breakfast was awesome, served in a nice room which resembled some kind of chateau. The parking on site is behind walls so we didn't have to be afraid of our car. The site is just a couple of minutes from Batterie de Longues-sur-Mer which is really worth visiting.
Maryse & Jean-Pierre are very friendly and hospitable. My 12-year-old son helped feed the chickens and retrieve a freshly-laid egg. M & JP don't speak English, but patiently spoke French with us. Parking was easy and the B&B is close to the harbor, where there are many restaurants, including one that is Michelen-starred. The bathroom had a modern and enclosed shower; bathroom and the view from the single window (Normandy fields, low fog on summer mornings) were best features.
The price was relatively high for tight quarters; the family room is basically in the attic, and has nowhere to sit but the beds. The door frame is narrow, so be careful not to hit your head on the beams (although the flipside is that it provides rustic charm). Wifi works only downstairs in the breakfast room, and has volatile connectivity. Breakfast was limited to breads and jam, juice and hot drink.
Maryse and Jean-Pierre are lovely people salts of the earth.
Hard to find
Jean-Pierre and Maryse could not have been more welcoming and helpful, including charming our children! And Jean-Pierre gave us lots of information and tips about D-Day, sharing his personal stories also.
Hosts were very warm & welcoming. They spoke very little English but I spoke very little French! A wonderful rustic B&B that I would not hesitate to return to.
It was a little difficult to find. If you see two large red gates then turn into the track beside them.
Maryse and Jean-Paul were very welcoming, and the family room was perfect for us. It is a beautiful location. They gave us a lovely breakfast too! Merci beaucoup à nos hôtes!
Location. Pleasant couple.
Same breakfast every 7 mornings. How about an egg? Room small for 4.
the breakfast was good and the owners were very helpful.
Our room was small for a family of four and the staircase to the room we had up in the eaves was a bit dangerous for everybody in our room- very steep step into the room with no bannisters. I would have made this room into a double occupancy room rather than a family room. Also the lack of a kettle made it extremely hard for us as we were still bottle feeding our daughter and had to ask for boiled water.
the owners were very nice excellent breakfast
hard to find bad beds
The owners are very friendly and accommodating!
No wi fi. No flat screen and the tv didn't work. Owners are Very nice but do not speak English
Maryse and Jean-Pierre made us extremely welcome, made us feel more like friends. Excellent breakfast every morning with homemade preserves, an added touch was lovely knickknacks on the table each day. We enjoyed our stay in their lovely old farmhouse which was well renovated.
We loved the B & B but found it very hard to find. Perhaps a No. 47 on the yellow B & B sign by the roadside would help. We went up and down the road many times before we stopped and asked a local neighbour who pointed out to us where to go.
The owner were the nicest people you could imagine.
I really don't understand the high ratings for this B and B. Floors in both bathroom and bedroom are original wooden planks. Furniture is dated and mostly damaged. It just didn't feel right.
Run by two really nice people! Nice room and a lovely location.
A little difficult to find the entrance to the house.
The owners are lovely people and are very friendly and accommodating.
The family room was wonderful, we enjoyed the top floor with the rustic timbers. The room was plenty big for us for and the private bath was nice as well. The fresh breakfast was a welcomed treat with the best of French bread, jams, yogurts, etc. Definitely would stay again.
