Warm welcome, very nice rooms with lots of beautiful details, excellent breakfast.
Wonderful host so hospitable. The room was well designed and Stephane has a real flair for decor, french shabby chic. The breakfast was served in a vaulted room with a roaring log fire and the spread of food was marvellous. Too much to eat but gave a wonderful sight.
Marvelous ! An ideal Bed and Breakfast place to be for a weekend, a week or even a whole month at those prices. The rooms are spacious and the breakfast fabulous. The owner (host) is a most friendly, charming person and makes one feel at home in a countryside location.
The road to get there (about 2 km.) does not have any name and it is difficult to find, but the owner was kind enough (he speaks good English) to bring me there.
Like opening a box with nothing but loveliness. Precious memories of magical place that will stay with us for a very long time. Thank you Stéphane for living and creating your dream so that we can come and have taste of your beautiful little Kingdom. With love from Anja & Thierry ~
The rooms were spacious and homely, pretty bathroom. The upstairs common room was great. Beeakfast amazing and Stefan delightful,
A bit hard to find
The hospitality, easy parking, independent entrance to our room. Pretty terrace and use of communal room with microwave and fridge. Friendly dogs. Fantastic breakfast- best ever!
Road access not very convenient.
Please do not choose the hotel if you prefer contemporary faceless many-star hotels, 'cause Mas des Alberes isn't one. This is a place you love to stay if you prefer cozy, nice and warm house in the countryside. You will feel like you lost in time at the very heart of hospitable France. You also like Stéphane, who create inimitable friendly and welcome atmosphere, and who convert his true desire, I would say more - a dream, to run a hotel into the ultimate experience for his guests. We had booked one night, stayed two and deeply regretted couldn't stay more. Silent and pure nature with crystal air you can't stop breath to get enough. Sleeping there is the true rest of body and soul. Room furniture and decoration so authentic and stylish. Maybe somebody would say it is "old and outdated", but my wife was stocked on it! Beyond the old-stylish room decoration you will have all you need and all you get used to in every decent hotel. In addition, it's spacious - room, bathroom. You should really have a breakfast, at least once in the very first morning at the hotel. I will not write any spoilers, but trust me, this is the thing you will enjoy so much! Stéphane loves nearby places and helped us with three different route options we were glad to chose on our way later. The places were so wonderful, romantic and even astonishing. Thank you Stéphane so much!
You should be aware, that without a car you couldn't reach the hotel. Hard to find without navigation system - don't try signs and descriptions, get straight to the GPS coordinates, and you will arrive right to the gate of Mas des Alberes.
Stephane was welcoming and helpful. Spacious rooms and bathroom. Nice rural location away from the crowds with outside space to relax
The rustic nature of the place is fine but this should not be an excuse not to clean guest rooms and dining room. There was an unacceptable level of old black dust in the rooms with a smell of body odour in the bathroom which attracted flies. A lovely breakfast was marred by dirty cereal jars which was off putting. It spoilt an otherwise, lovely place.
I had a bit of trouble finding the place but it was worth the wait as when I entered the grounds I felt a peace and warmth that this was somewhere to relax. Stephane was a wonderful host and puts his heart and soul into his work. Beautiful place, people and food! Good luck!
I was there just one night, everything was great, especially the owner Stephane. I got breakfast, although I did not announce it, which was great, he lent me a bike to go to the beach, excellent and friendly place to stay away from noise and stress. Highly recommendable.
WiFi was not working.
1. The charming decor and design of a converted stable. 2. The very friendly and hospitable host Stephane. 3. The decadent breakfast
Not having a car. It is difficult to get by without one as the location is isolated from the main beach and town centre. By car it is 5-10mins away. By bike it is about 20-30mins ride each way. I had to order a taxis most days which became expensive. However there is a bike at the property available for rent which is a nice way to get to the beach if it is not too hot.
Everything perfect ... from the start, our four day stay, to the goodbye. Most welcoming reception by Stephane, who gave us lots of tips on how to get to the best places and avoid parking delays around Argeles Sur Mer. When we wanted to have diner in the nice but crowded Collioure he even arranged a private parking place at the restaurant. Our sun had the time of his life playing with the dog Toufic for hours and hours. It was also nice to see the horses on the co-located studfarm, we got a demonsrtation by Marcus. And the breakfast ... in a very nice ambiance, with an elaborate choice on types of bread and strawberry-cake. What was left over we could take for lunch which was most welcome. Definitely will be coming back and would recommend it when traveling by car... it is a five minutes from Argeles and from the nce beaches.
having to leave
Stephane was a delightful host giving us his recommendation of the best place to dine in the evening. The Pisicine certainly is a wonderful restaurant and Stephan's breakfast is a must have experience.
The tastefulness and charm of the mas decor, the amazing breakfast, the quiet of the horse farm and the warmth of Stephane's reception. It was so beautiful I wanted to photograph everything. Totally charming. A great way to experience the beauty of Aregles sur mer and St. Cyprien area without the crowds and over-development of the beach side commercialism.
Beds could be firmer.
When you live in a big city its so unusual to spend a few days at the farm, between fields, and near the dogs, cats and horses. For my family it was very relaxing stay. Stefan, the owner of this small hotel, was as welcoming as its only possible. He and his dog Tofic made our stay unforgettable.
I wish the public lounge zone would be more clean (especially sofas). I afraid of spiders and other insects so for me it was terribly to meet such guests in the room, but any way - our stay was fantastic!
We stayed as a family of 5, sadly only for one night. The 5 minute drive from the hustle and bustle of Argeles takes you to utter peace and tranquility. The host was extremely welcoming and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The breakfast was amazing, so much food that we didn't eat half of it, so our host told us to take it for a picnic on the beach. I wish we could have stayed longer and hope to return.
Excellent customer service of the host Location Accomodation Everything
Fantastic place, host and breakfasts - mustn't forget the dogs, Cleo and Barnaby - Thank you Stefan for a lovely week
Stéphane was an exemplary host - knowledgable and enthusiastic about the region, friendly, easy to reach and helpful. The location is great: in the country but close to services and the sea. The room was very comfortable and exceptionally clean. There is access to a common room, which includes a fridge, microwave and dishes - great for feeding quick meals to the kids. The optional breakfast is remarkable - very tasty, great presentation, and plenty of selection. Mas des Albères is a 10 out of 10 - an exceptional value. The dogs are wonderful and very well trained. Our kids tend to be timid around dogs, but were instantly comfortable with the dogs and enjoyed playing with them.
That we only booked two nights and not three. Mas des Albères exceeded our expectations. There was not one fault. It was great and we look forward to returning.
Stephan the owner was the consummate host. He explained everything to us and even suggested a route for our trip the next day to Spain, which we did, thanks Stephan!! This is a lovely place set around a communal court yard. although we didn't have Breakfast, it looked stunning and the next time we go back to Argeles, we will definitely partake. Thanks for making our stay most memorable.
The warm welcome from Stephane, his obvious interest in his guests, the beautifully furnished rustic accommodation and the best continental breakfast we have ever had!
Nothing - we loved the experience of staying there.
Stéphane can not be more helpful and friendly! Mas de Alberes is excellent, and the breakfast fantastic. My daughter has thoroughly enjoyed playing with the dog. :) I hope to be back soon :)
Everything has been very correct.
Such a lovely setting, lovely artistically presented accommodation ,( old French )clean and comfortable. I have never seen a breakfast so beautifully presented. On my list of return too. Stéphane was a very welcoming host.
It was nice being out in the country, away from the noise and congestion of cities. Seeing the horses in the pastures onsite was a real bonus.
Nothing. It was all great.
