Best Western Masqhotel  

This is an elegant hotel where everything is stylishly designed. It is in an ugly part of town but only ten minutes' walk from the pretty stuff. It can be recommended to anyone not dependent on internet access: the wifi simply doesn't work and the computers in the lobby are painfully slow. A memorable little extra: breakfast includes complimentary champagne.

Excellent location - within easy walking distance of both the station and the old town and harbour. The design of the hotel was modern and interesting and the service was good. It was a 5 - 10 minute walk to the harbour, yet was a very peaceful location. Free parking on the quiet road outside on a Sunday was a real bonus. Check in was simple and professional, and although we didn't have a meal there, the dining/breakfast area looked welcoming and spotless.

Spacious well designed rooms with good facilities. Interesting design in the public rooms, well located for the Old Port of La Rochelle. Everything worked as it should and the staff were excellent.

We obtained a sizeable discount from the tariff prices, which made the experience much more cost effective. At the tariff rates I would have been less satisfied.

Modern clean lines, comfortable beds, excellent bathrooms. Convenient parking, air con is quiet and efficient. Hard wired internet. Quiet for a city location.

Good breakfast but several people had to ask (strongly) before the hot dishes were replenished. The initial reaction was that they were finished and would not be filled up. Otherwise very good

Chris could not have been nicer. We had trouble finding the hotel, and she was more than kind guiding us in. The hotel in general is geared toward business and family use, but we found the proximity to the marina and restaurant district very convenient, about a pleasant 15 minute walk, so we, as a mature touring/vacationing couple, could not have been more pleased with the staff, the accommodations, and the location.

Ok, so the contemporary design and furnishings weren't my style, at least everything was comfortable.

A very good rate for the quality. Also very good to have an extra bed provided at no extra rate.

Glass swing door on the bathroom (excellent,modern,clean btw) like many modern hotels

Design was pleasant. Hotel very quiet. Bed comfortable. Shower etc ok. Parking secure. Reasonable walking distance to centre.

Little choice re food and the meal we had was v poor. Our room had a boring view.

The staff were absolutely excellent - very helpful,polite and could not have been better. Room was a great size, and breakfast good.

This is a very modern and contemporary hotel - extremely clean and neat. The rooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. It is located within a quite pleasant 10min walk to the port and most of the restaurants and sights. The buffet breakfast is plentiful and varied with both hot and cold food and most importantly, complimentary champagne for breakfast! Wifi connection was free and had great coverage in our room.

The hallways within the hotel obviously have some sort of energy saving mechanism which keeps the lights extremely dim until you walk through - then they become slightly less dim. If you are vision impaired, good luck. The door in the bathroom is opaque glass and does not seal into a door frame - if you are a private bathroom person, this could be somewhat off-putting.
