I love the lift here which I can only see from old movies. Alhough it is old, it works just fine! Bed is comfortable as well! Room is bigger than I expect! Price is perfect when I have all the above! Staffs are very helpful!

The hotel is small and dark which can be a little claustrophobic. The lift is a typical Paris lift which can accomodate 2 people at a time.

The mathis is very much a unique fit for purpose small boutique hotel in the centre of the city.. If you are expecting a hotel with huge reception area with full fledge facitlities or if you will be spending a lot of time in the room, you'd be better off elsewhere. However, if like us whose main purpose is to spend time in the city for sightseeing or shopping, then this is a perfectly placed hotel with walking distance to eiffel tower, arc de triomphe and all the main shopping high street. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the amenities in the room were of good quality and the room itself is acceptable for the price...

Since its a fairly old building, the floors creak a lot + the room fittings were a bit dated and can use some replacement. There was also no breakfast if I can recall but plenty of cafes around the vicinity which are opened for breakfast.The lift gets a lot of getting used to. I think it was built at least 50 years ago and has been preserved due to it being an original lift design (I think...)

The entire staff is welcoming, attentive to your every need with the utmost discretion. The restaurant is the place to be or to be seen... The food is excquisite.

Small room if you are travelling with children. They say there is place for the baby cot, but there is not: you end up putting it in front of the bathroom door. The cot is provided for free.

This was a great hotel with friendly staff and a lovely room. We were on the fourth floor in a tastefully decorated room that included it's own balcony, which we loved. The location was fantastic, walking distance to some of Paris' main attractions. Delightful breakfast. Absolutely perfect for our Christmas weekend getaway. Couldn't believe the room and service we got for the price we paid. Highly recommend.

It was greatly located in the center of Paris without having the noise of the main streets! It was a really great choice! When we arrived the staff of the hotel was very helpfull and friendly and they had upgraded our room from superior to Junior suite! It was definitely a great experience and I have some unique memories! The brekfast was not what I expected but the overall experience was great! :)
