Mercure Beaune Centre  

Normally we use Novotel chain and considered using the one nearby except a reviewer advised it was a bit of a walk from town centre. This was very true-this hotel a comfortable short walk (10 mins max) where as the Novotel is more than twice as far again. Free parking, wifi a bit tricky in room (need to relog in with codes&passwords after 30 mins). Not far off motorway. Beaune is a stunning little town to visit. Great location to break our drive to Italy. All staff spoke English.

Bed was very uncomfortable - sagged in the middle and we both woke up with sore backs (my wife&I are in our 30's). Dinner was overpriced for what it was - eat in town, some v nice restaurants there (our baby daughter was unsettled so we had to stay in). We skipped the breakfast after bad reviews on booking.com and drove 5 minutes to the poshest McDonalds we've ever seen on the edge of town close to the motorway (new restaurant so not on our Tom Tom but its on the map on iPhone - €1.45 for an egg mcmuffin - cant go wrong). Would recommend on grounds of location, just eat elsewhere.

It was impossible to have breakfast, everything was finished when I arrived, and the service staff were slow to restock food.

The location was perfect - easy to find from the motorway and very close to the historic centre of town.

Modern hotel with swimming pool in excellent position within 5 minutes walk of Beaune town centre. Plenty of free parking and right next door to a supermarket.

Minor negative points - check in is meant to be from 12.00, we arrived at 2.00pm and the room wasn't quite ready. The carpets in the hallways by our rooms were very stained and dirty looking.

All the facilities were excellent and the staff very helpful.The cost of the room was fair.Proximity to the centre of Beaune was perfect; a 7 minute walk.

The cost of drinks in the bar were high. Breakfast at 15.50euros is extortionate.

L'accueil,l'écoute de tout le personnel,leur politesse, autant d'arguments pour lesquels je m'appuierai pour y séjourner de nouveau ou le conseiller à des amis en ajoutant la propreté des lieux intérieur et extérieur.

Le calme et le confort

La froideur de l'accueil et le restaurant Pour le restaurant: Une béarnaise tres froide servie avec un pavé saignant sur assiette froide, autant manger de la viande froide. Nous avons pris, en dessert, l'assiette aux quatre fromages. Nous n'avons pas su quel était le nom des fromages. Il nous a été répondu: "Oh ! des fromages, il y en a tant" Il aurait fallu appeler cela assiette découverte.... Pour le reste, belle présentation et vin excellent.

absolument pas à la hauteur pour un soit- disant 4 étoiles ... à fuir absolument . Chaleur insupportable - lit de très mauvaise qualité... vieillot, bruyant , nul. Je pensais que choisir Mercure pour une nuit , serait confortable. Grosse erreur. Plus jamais ça.

Dommage que les clients habituels ne bénéficient pas systématiquement d' une chambre avec vue piscine

Bien que nous avons choisi une chambre standart elle etais confortable

Le service bar nul, le service restaurant nul ,la nourriture nul bien que ayant commander les plats les plus chers de la carte . Le viande devais être saignante mais c' étais sec et dure . Après réclamation ont a remplacer la viande qui étais alors bien cuite mais toujours aussi dure ! Il faut dire que pour le soir du 31 Décembre 1 seul garçon de salle avec un apprenti . Dans la cuisine je ne sait pas ! J'ai fait part de nos problèmes le matin a la réception et ils ont décompter une entrée ,mais de toute façons notre soirée étais ratée ! Et cela en bourgogne Donc a evitér Si possible .
