Great location just next door to Pope's Palace and very good restaurant with Michelin star. The room is ruther small, lobby and breakfast area too, especially when there are tourist groups.

Location , Location! Room 302 was hughe. It had a couch and round center table ,desk and plenty of storage. Bathroon was clean. Room Service was delivered promptly as well as our taxi when ordered. We had reserved a standard room but upgraded when we arrived. Our room overlooked the square, cafes and artists. Worn carpeting and furnishing. Hard floors, no padding. Bedspread, couch tired and worn.

The location is terrific, within 50 steps of the Pope's Palace and adjacent to the Place de l'Horoge. In addition, the rooms are air- conditioned, which can be a plus with the warmer weather in Provence. The hotel offers a full course breakfast, which is very convenient. The hotel staff tries to be extremely helpful. Yohann, on the front desk, made my visit especially easy. Sometimes the climate control system could wail like a banshee. Hot water for showers can be in short-supply during high shower periods. Beware of the cost of the full course breakfast, which was not advertised on any documents that I came across.

Excellent friendly, helpful staff. The air conditioner was inadequate, even in late September. Chairs in the room had tattered upholstery.

I like how close it was to the main tourist attractions in Avignon. The Mercure Cite des Papes is old and had very basic facilities. Not what I was expecting, but good considering it was only a 3 star hotel.

Great hotel in the center of everything. Excellent breakfast buffet. Very clean hotel and helpful staff. Excellent choice. I highly recommend this hotel. Parking was a short distance away but in a safe underground location. You really don't need a car here. Everything is within walking distance and other towns are a quick train ride away.

Friendly staff, decent sized room, nice view of the city - bed and pillows were not too great, nor was the quality of the towels. Based on that the price was too high. All else was great . The location was the best, and the hotels restaurant was great. When it came time for check out and a cab to be called, there was a lack of concern for my departure time by the attending staff- When the cab was 15 minutes late, the attitude of the staff was oh well - and I was told they had done their job by calling - Not so customer service oriented I felt -

Location was fabulous. Staff were very helpful. We had a problem with the air conditioning in our room and even though the hotel was very busy they happily changed our room. Breakfast was very expensive...but other cheaper cafes for breakfast just outside the hotel. I booked this as a 4 star hotel but it had a sign that it was a 3 star which is what I would class it facility wise...but in saying that it was perfect location wise and was very clean and comfortable

The location right on the central square and 50 metres from the Palace of the Popes was fantastic and we had a great (and large, well appointed) room. The staff were helpful and free internet was very good. All in all one of the best hotels we stayed at, it is three stars but better than many four star hotels. Very few negatives on this one so a general comment (relevant to most hotels in Europe) why not include skim milk with breakfast?

It is really excellent located in the center of the old town. Good restaurants near by The rooms are a bit tired in the old wing; finding the hotel by car is a nightmare; no parking (you should park the car some 300 m away-which in fact it is not a problem- but also have to carry the luggage over the medieval stone pavement of the main square)

The room was charming and the location wonderful. The staff, however, were outstanding. My highest praise for the flexible, sensitive, friendly, and responsive staff. I especially think the desk clerk, Johann, was terrific as he went out of his way numerous times to help us. The others, however, were wonderful as well. We got great advice and information from the staff, directions, assistance with little things and even great croissants and cafe au lait at a good price. I was unhappy that the hotel did not give us the reserved twin bed non-smoking room we had reserved. The staff were very gracious though and, I suspect, gave us an upgraded room on a smoking floor but we did not smell smoke or find the room filmed with smoke pollution, so it worked out.
