Location Staff Ambiance
Safe did not work No kettle in the room
Very good themed accommodation. Central location close to beach and town.
Very expensive breakfast with limited choice
The place, the rooms, the service, the team, everything was so wonderful!
All staff were extremely helpful and made you feel very welcome. In fact they could not do enough for my wife and myself. They also recommended restaurants where the food and service were first class and close at hand.
Nothing we could our finger oi
The room, the excellent welcome, the information provided by the Receptionists and the adjacent covered car park. However my recommendation to other travellers would be qualified bearing in mind my comments opposite
The absence of information that the Hotel is, in effect, Bed and Breakfast only. No food is available in the evening. There was an unfriendly and rude (to me) barman who seemed not to understand the hospitality business. The breakfast was adequate but lacked variety and innovation for a French Hotel of this quality. on my second morning the waiter (who was also doubling up on Reception to check people out) did not bother to find out if I wanted the egg option, the only hot food available.
The hotel is wonderful and full of charm .The staff are really helpful and speak excellent English as my French is only basic. It is only a few minutes from the beach and five minutes from the town/
No heat control although there were three windows to leave open
Price a little too high and breakfast limited
Royal Emeraude is an iconic Hotel in a superb location in one of my favourite French Towns. The welcome was excellent with the staff happy to let us us to book in early as we had arrived as foot passengers on the Portsmouth - St Malo Ferry. I booked the room late but it was still very good with tasteful furniture and fittings with arm chairs big enough to sit in! Plenty of storage space and electric points with adequate mirrors close to for hair drying and make up. The bathroom was wonderful; spacious, well equipped with a huge shower - after a series of broom cupboard bathrooms in England this was luxury! Breakfast was great and actually good value as long as you like good food and are prepared to pay for it! The bar and bar staff were discreet and professional and offered good value in a seaside resort.
I have one small gripe and that is there were no teapots - an Englishman's gripe I know but the tea bags provided were of excellent quality but served with hot water for the customer to add and every one knows (or should do!) that tea can only be properly brewed if using good tea in a warmed pot and adding boiling water to that pot and then letting it stand. Any other procedure is just a waste of good ingredients. The Hotel had coffee pots why not teapots? So I drank the excellent coffee; with perhaps some Calva but not at breakfast.
Great location, smart clean friendly hotel. Dinard is a lovely place plenty of restaurants nearby. We had a really good holiday.
Breakfast expensive for what you got. Some of the Chairs in bar uncomfortable especially for breakfast.
Beautifully restored Great steam ship theme throughout the hotel Staff were very helpful and friendly Very comfortable and smart rooms Parking
Location was just right down town. Comfortable beds and good room facilities
Expensive De-luxe room was gloomy Very expensive breakfast at 19 Euros Outdoor terrace but right by the road so people could look in. Beds had plastic mattress covers
This was our 2nd trip to the hotel. We had stayed for a couple of days the year before and been impressed so that when an illness caused us to cancel our main summer holiday we treated ourselves to a week here. It was absolute bliss from the moment we arrived. Sophie on front desk is an absolute delight. Lovely and so helpful. Her recommendations are good. All the front desk staff were superb. It was nice to see Sandrine again. The barman/go to guy was charming and again full of great recommendations. The room was gorgeous, we really were tickled pink with it. We opted for a sea view this time. Great. Black out blinds amazing. Aircon great. Decor throughout the hotel is lovely and to a high standard. We truly had a perfect stay at the hotel and in Dinard. We want to go back already and will hopefully soon.Thank you to all the staff.
Breakfast, room, valet parking, staff
Would have liked to stay longer :-)
Location, Staff, Breakfast
Rooms not big. Also decor in our room was dark grey giving an 'oppressive' feel. Rooms should be painted in lighter more neutral colours.
Small bedroom.Noise from nightclub or workplace till 2am. Great staff but boring breakfast. Expensive parking.
The style, the spot, the view, the service lovely building
a bit quiet, maybe time of year
Great central location, staff very efficient and friendly. Luxury hotel
room could have been a bit bigger, but that is a minor point
The room had air con and was very clean and even though we glad to pay extra for the parking as it gave us the security we wanted. The bar man in the piano bar was great however he was not there when we returned from dinner and receptionist served us and did not know what she was doing
Room was small and thought being a four star hotel it would have a restaurant. Had to wait several hours to check in even though the receptionist said we could check in early. Bare in mind if they say check in is at 3pm then do nt go before
Its the best Hotel in Dinard..2nd stay
the pillows are awful...there is also a very dangerous step on the way in and out of the hotel...where it inclines I think for wheelchairs...if you are not careful you can twist you ankle..just as I did ..very painful !
ALL OF IT. STAFF ESPECIALLY.
NO RESTAURANT. ALTHOUGH THERE WAS PLENTY OF CHOICE OF RESTAURANTS NEARBY.
Everything about this hotel oozed class and charm.
There is no air conditioning - the system is designed to give heat in the winter and cooling in the summer, so if you have an unseasonably warm or cold day you may have to optimise the use of window opening and closing whilst out of the room to achieve a desired temperature!
Location for beach and town. Breakfast quality and setting. Private garage. Wifi speed.
Room (de luxe), was a little small. Garage was a little over priced. A bit of a pain to log onto Wifi.
Staff were rude
Extremely helpful staff
Small superior twin room - room was dark
Front desk staff were very helpful and friendly.
