Quite luxurious bedrooms, very friendly staff & dog friendly
The only negative was the lack of a restaurant in the hotel, as it was a cold wet night, but we did find a good French restaurant in the town
Nice decour; spatious rooms; well kept; excellent breakfast; and comfy
The location was very good, walking distance to restaurants, shopping and visits to the old city Plantagenet. The staff were kind and very helpful.
The breakfast buffet was ordinary, the internet was slow, the phone system did not allow for use of an international calling card. The room was bare. It does not have the services or facilities of a 4 star Hotel.
Very easy to park our car in their own garage. And an excellent breakfast.
The bed was comfortable and there were tea and coffee making equipment in the room. Parking 100 metres down the street was free overnight until 9am.
First impressions were not good. Arriving after dark, parking was not near entrance. The building looked like an office block on a poorly lit, deserted street. Only the Mercure sign confirmed that a hotel was there. Inside the layout was confusing and dimly lit, not welcoming. There was no food available in the evening (Sunday) and the breakfast (which we did not have) was €14 per person. Overall this hotel fell far short of the standard we expect from Mercure.
Staff service OK Clean Location not for from downtown (10mn) and train station (15mn) within walk distance
Variety / limited choice for breakfast Slow elevator Can't reach ground floor by stairs TV didn't work Wifi slow to register
All Reasonable. Bed good, hotel lobby grand
Parking not clearly signed. Breakfast over priced and very simple. Internet very poor.
Lack of bar or room service at w/e.
Really old fashioned looking building. Very central location. Helpful staff.
There wasn't anything we didn't like !!
Good size room with comfortable bed, clean and great location. Friendly and helpful front desk staffs.
Good location near the centre with secure underground carpark.
clean but unappealing room poor breakfast throughout ill-trained apprentices, no senior staff at evening, bar open but impossible to order!
No restaurant in house.
An ok hotel with ok rooms. About 15 min walk to cathedral which is lovely and the old Plantagenet town is fantastic. We had two adjacent rooms which were changed to rooms two doors apart because of our bed requirements. Nice to have a kettle in the room - a plus in france! Receptionist who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. Private hotel parking which is free for those with a blue disabled card but otherwise 10 euros per night.
Blocked toilet in one of our rooms and no kettle in one when we arrived. These issues were resolved by the young man working that evening. Lack of non-slip rubber mat for the shower for my 87 year old father could not be resolved as they had none in the hotel! He was therefore unable to use the shower as it was lethally slippery. I mentioned it to the lady manager in the morning who declared that she'd been in the hotel business for years and no hotels in France had these - clearly untrue as everywhere else we stayed did! Having checked the evening before with the young man that breakfast is free with Mercure hotels for those over 60, we expected to pay for only one breakfast as two out of the three of us are over 60. However when we checked out the manager informed me that this is only if you book direct with Accor Hotels, not with Booking.com. There was even an advert in the lift about the free breakfasts and it is not made clear that this is the case, (The breakfast is barely worth having for free and is definitely not worth the ridiculous 14.50 Euros per person!) She then told me that the room price we had booked for was only for two adults and two children and not for three adults in two adjacent rooms - ridiculous, as they are not interconnecting so you wouldn't have two children in a separate room! She rather grudgingly agreed to 'overlook' this (as if it was my fault!) and put it down to an error on the Booking.com website. I was forced to pay for three breakfasts however! Later when I checked the receipt, I found she had given me someone else's altogether! I had to drive back to the hotel as I needed the right one. She made no attempt to apologise, barely spoke and reluctantly printed me the correct one! This lady is a very bad representative of Mercure Hotels and I would not stay in one again.
Location, straight forward to drive there and only 10 mins walk from the old town. Friendly staff, we are English with limited French but staff were able to help us in English. Good breakfast. Very comfy mattress. Secure parking in the gated rear-car park.
Amazingly small room in very poor condition in need of a total refurbishment To charge €99 for this room is outrageous
Friendly helpful staff and easy access to the tram and republic and restaurants.
Good location, helpful staff, quiet location
nothing to dislike
Price of breakfast
Location was good for town centre and short drive to circuit and museum
Had to change one of our rooms as previous occupant had been sick up the curtains and this hadn't been attended to! Hotel and rooms are tired and outdated. Breakfast very expensive. Better to pop out to the nearby supermarket and bring croissants back to room.
The building was quite something, and we had plenty of space in our room.
Difficulity finding the garage for the hotel.
Didn't know about car park charges until we went to check out.
Good place to stop over if traveling through
Poor staffing on Sunday, no room service or diner, had to eat out
Lovely hotel comfortable bed great shower breakfast excellent car park secure easy access old town - behind cathedral - for great eating places will use again on our travels to south west France
