Absence of tea/coffee making in the room is easily overcome - they will make you one in the bar and put it all on a tray for you to take to your room. We just got hot water and used our onw tea and coffee - they didn't charge us for the water and it was hot. rooms tired, air con ineffective, while its a reasonable walk to the beach the location is disappointing |

Having booked flights to Nice for a week's holiday, we discovered that both the Cannes Film Festival and the Monaco Grand Prix were on at that time, resulting in exorbitant hotel prices. We got a suitable apartment, but had to vacate for one night as new tenents were arriving. So, we only spent one night at Mercure Nice Grimaldi, but as a "blind" choice, it turned out to be excellent. Although this obviously does not apply to your hotel alone, or indeed to Nice alone, it was disappointing to see such a large mark up on prices when there was a special event in the area. |

The breakfast was really good great choice, room was cleaned every day and the roof top terrace was great to relax. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good central location, bus station only 10 - 15 mins walk away, trams were 5 mins walk, beach was approx 10 mins walk. Loads of bars and restaurants close by. |

The staff were very well trained and professional, helpful and friendly. They spoke each time I passed them. I liked the roof top terrace very much, in the late afternoons, and I also enjoyed the small balcony of the room.The bar was useful and practical for someone travelling alone. I would have loved some tea making facilities in my room. Also, I felt that on arrival, I would have liked someone to show me to my room, as I had trouble with the door key and also how to use the safe in the room, which someone could have quickly shown me, but I had to go up and down to reception, once with my suitcase! |

The staff were terrific and the room, though not spacious, was comfortable and very clean. We slept very well on the beds. The location was the best - close to shopping, restaurants, the promenade, bus stop, flower market. The photograph on the website did not quite show how small the room was. No rooftop dining - perhaps not in season yet. |

Service personnel was very helpful and kind, helping in finding places in Nices and with various questions. Also the Hotel itself was good, price and value were in balance. Breakfast was enjoyable. In welcome letter it was explained that we could keep room until 4 pm at departure day. However it was not possible. |

It's 5 minutes from the shopping district and 10 minutes from the beach. Very friendly English-speaking staff. The room was a bit noisy. We could hear other guest laughing and talking. There is no minibar but there are vending machines on the floor. |
