Set in a Hausmannian-style building, the Avalon Hotel Paris is a 5-minute walk from Gare du Nord train station. It offers stylish rooms and studios with free Wi-Fi connection and Satellite TV.
Score from 1367 reviews Good
Good sized comfortable room. Enjoyed continental breakfast in bar area served by very friendly and helpful barman.
Intermittent wifi, poor TV reception,
It was very close to the train station which was very handy when as we had to catch an early train.
very expensive comparing to the offered services the same branch in Toulouse is excellent with very less price
The property is right opposite Gare Du Nord stn. Has good connectivity. The staff were polite. The rooms were cleaned every morning.
The area surrounding the property is full of hooligans and homeless drunks. We were on the 2nd floor yet we could hear a lot of yelling and screaming through the night.
Hotels in Paris are in general heavily overpriced. Mercure is no exception to this.
Location to Gare du Nord
Lack of cleanliness Fan in bathroom would not turn off so constant noise prevented sleep Overheated
The location of this hotel is superb. The facilities are extremely good value for money. It only has a buffet breakfast but the quality of the surrounding restaurants, I can understand why as the street restaurants are magnificent,
It's extremely hard to find fault with this hotel.
Room with fabulous view overlooking Gare Nord. No Noise at all. Great bus station 1 minute away. Comprehensive Buffet breakfast was very good and good value for what it offered.
Local cafes are tourist focussed. Not great food and over-priced.
It was clean.
I would like to. For what I paid for, it's not what I what expected to have. Breakfast should have been included with the price. Period. I would have enjoyed to have a room with view rather then looking at other walls opposite my room. It was dated and there should have been a mini fridge.
Nice room Good sleep
Refused to help with facilities in the room Had to go to the bar next door to open a wine bottle Expensive
The bed was nice The bartender was nice in the bar!
The staff in reception
Outdated room with bad smell Very old bathroom Slow drain Stains on the carpet
Proximity to the station for taking early trains
Room was small, carpet was badly stained ; some guest had spilt either hair dye or ink on the carpet, and there were more stians on the carpet. Slight mouldy smell, window was barred and faced a cooling vent, which was loud not very pleasant. No hot water when I wanted a shower after a late check-in, Staff are professional, but curt and unsmiling. I have stayed in Paris many times over many years and can recommend this hotel and part of town ONLY for the Gare du Nord. One night is all I would stand for here.
We were very welcomed by the staff and they were very helpful throughout our stay. We requested an early check in and a later check out and the hotel adhered to our request without any problems. We had a superior room and it was spacious and clean. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone I know. Keep up th
The only thing I would have expected is to have a minbar. However it wasn't a necessity so we didn't complain about it
quite cheap for the season
The room was very small, the bed has seen generations of guests and the bathroom and toilet was dirty (there was not even a shampoo). More like 2 stars then 4..
Location, ease of access
Great bed, pleasant to find water, tea, coffee. Location was perfect for early train.
Bathroom let this place down. Although clean it was old and damaged. Chips out of the bath and sink enamel. Yellowing tiles. Hair dryer fell apart.
Perfect for a.late arrival and a good stop ovee for train journey the next day
Bathroom cramped space and in need of a revamp. A bit tired out.
Very clean, spacious bedroom with very comfortable bed. Nice toiletries. Front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Location was easy to make connections for trains or metro.
Think offering a free continental breakfast would have been a plus. The in-room coffee (instant) was awful. We found a McDonalds nearby and a wonderful bakery, so we were able to purchase breakfast nearby. The continental breakfast offered by the hotel was too expensive.
Bed was huge Accommodating staff
Location excellent for Paris Nord station which is why we chose it. A lovely big lobbey and a nice bar/salon. Room was also large, particularly for Paris standards.
Room, especially bathroom, needed updating. Also staff were less than friendly - almost rude at one point. It is a shame as this let the hotel down and will make me rethink whether to stay there again.
Location in front of Gare du Nord
Rooms and bathrooms very old and broken, very small tv far from beds. Rooms of a low 2 stars hotel.
1- Hotel Location 2- Staff are very helpful and fast in their response & action
Location, cleanliness and facilities
The staff attitudes is rather poor and unprofessional
