no air or heating was turned on due to mid season weather. Ground floor rooms dingy and lacking light. top floor rooms a bit hot if no air cond. Typical Mercure with no frills but adequate for a 1 night stay.

Location is great. Friendliness of the staff and rooms are confortable. Breakfast is good.

No parking available in the hotel - it's necessary to use the city car parks

Decoration simple et discrete, propre, bonne reception

The rooms were well heated, and the decoration is elegant and well done.

The staff lacks completely of warmth and customer care: there was no welcoming words and attention on checking in and out. The tea and coffee facilities in the rooms were badly replenished (only one biscuit in a double room!...), we had to ask twice for coffee, and milk. Overall the customer service is not worth a 4-star. We previously stayed in a 3-star hotel in Rambouillet and the staff had both a professional and warm attitude.

The brightness, size and decor of the room. The bathroom was great and the bed very comfortable. The dining room and lobby are large and bright (great breakfast by the way) and I love the sitting room outdoors. I particularly like the proximity to the Château and the Park and the lovely little paved street with its cafés and boutiques. Rambouillet is truly a lovely town and I would heartily recommend your hotel for a stay in the area.

Its small town location and easy access to rural parts was very convenient for our purposes, as we had no car, by choice. Provision for breakfast in particular was highly commendable. Staff were mostly very congenial and professional.

Personally, we do not like having to listen to piped music in the breakfast dining area and lobby - especially music that represents someone else's taste. There was a scent / odour problem in the bathroom - we dealt with it ourselves using eau de Javel from a local store. These are minor matters - otherwise no particular grumbles at all.

Helpful reception staff and excellent buffet breakfast. Well appointed room and good bathroom.

No secure parking available. Very disappointing evening meal on an extremely limited menu; service was abysmally slow and one of the two waiters was a surly individual. It seemed to be a disadavantage to stay at the hotel on a Sunday. When I paid the bill on the morning of departure I saw that I had been undercharged in that wine consumed with the indifferent dinner on the previous evening had not been included. I pointed this out to the receptionist and instead of any compensation being offered I had to wait for some time while this was verified despite the fact that I was in a hurry to continue my journey. I paid the €15 outstanding but felt that a better run establishment would have waived this charge. I would not choose to stay in this hotel again or if it were convenient to do so I would not eat in their Bolero restaurant, the only one available certainly on a Sunday.

Building activities toke place during our stay.

One of our party,a male aged 44 collapsed and the staff were very helpful in calling the Paramedics and then the ambulance to get him to hospital.The whole procedure took about 2 hours and the staff were excellent throughout.

We were so impressed with the hotel on the way down to our holiday destination that we re-booked as a stop over on the way back. We would recommend this hotel and location it has something for everyone and gives an instant feel for the french way of life. Magnificent.

The service in the hotel's restaurant was particularly slow on the evening that we booked and several of the dishes were no longer available which was disappointing. Although the restaurant was obviously busier than they had anticipated the (only two) waiting staff would not be rushed and offered a professional service. Well done. Oh and there was some building work going on in reception.

great location & really quiet

Extremely comfortable and quiet room. Good location but parking could be a problem on Tuesday and Friday nights due to public car park opposite being used for the local market the following mornings.

Scrambled egg at breakfast left something to be desired, probably made from powdered egg. Not up to 4* standard. Rest of breakfast good.

La situation et le confort de l'hôtel.

Je ne vois pas pourquoi il est impossible d'avoir accès à - sinon la totalité - au moins une partie de l'offre du petit déjeuner proposé en salle, lorsque l'on paye de surcroît un supplément pour l'avoir en chambre. Un exemple simple : des fruits.

De par sa situation privilégiée- à deux pas du parc-et ses aménagements, cet hôtel mérite bien bien son nom de Ralays du Château...Tout contribue,en effet, à la réussite d'un séjour :l'accueil chaleureux, la décoration élégante et sobre et la sensation d'espace dans la chambre.

La décoration, les couleurs de la chambre, l'amabilité de l’accueil, la possibilité de garer un vélo.

Pas de choix d'oreillers ( trop petits). La chambre 204 avec une porte communicante qui est mal isolée phoniquement ( cris des enfants dans la chambre d'à côté). Pouvoir régler l'éclairage dans la salle de bains.
