I liked the comfortable bed and the view of the garden next door. The location was good and the staff very helpful always.
The breakfast was expensive, the TV only had one English channel and the bath was rather difficult to get out of for a mature person.
I really liked everything especially when i thought I had lost my money and when I got back I found the purse with all contents on the table. The cleaner must have found it and was honest enough to put it in sight. I appreciated this more than anything. Thes staff were english speaking and accomodated my needs with a smile. The fact that there was a fresh free bottle of water everyday. That there was free coffee and tea in the room and also downstairs. Many varieties offered. Marie greeted me so well...warm and approachable...I looked forward to any contact I had with her. also veronique was most helpful. I have had great service in all mercure hotels and can recommend them highly. They come out better than much more expensive hotels. Congratulations. Very central and near to transport and galleries etc. near to Monoprix supermarket. Next door to Brittany specific area tourism centre. Light and bright. My requests were considered with respect and answered appropriately. Full marks. I was helped with the french keyboard on the computer. Not sure why my tablet didn't work well? wifi or just the tablet? I asked for a view and had a lovely one which was nice for me to come home to and wake up also. Lots of room, extra pillows.
As in most other hotels in France the lighting is not bright, especially in the bathroom. For a woman it is important especially to see the facial skin clearly. As in most other hotels I stayed in in France the shower is accessed via the bath which is too high for access for smaller or elderly people. I felt afraid when getting in and out in case I slipped. More rails could have helped to get in and out. The breakfast was too expensive for me. I am vegetarian.
Hotel is situated in a quiet location within 10 minutes walk of the old town centre. The facilites at the Mercure are very modern and consistent with other Mercure we have stayed at in France. We stayed on the 3rd floor and it was very quiet. The hotel also has a very secure underground car park underneath which costs 11 euros per 24 hours. There is also payable street parking outside too although there was plenty of space in the car park.
we had no problems with the hotel
Parking is limited Exrra pillows
Clean room with good facilities, very helpful and friendly staff, good location in the city.
compact area within easy walking distances with a short distance back to the hotel.
Low height of car park, my most worrying moment of a four week holiday and the receptionist did not know the clearance
Staff very helpful, all spoke English.
Breakfast was not great, not much choice. No-one told us that we needed a code to get out of the parking garage, made us late for a meeting
Friendly staff, good service, ideal for excursation to Rennes city center
Safe is missing in rooms
Location and room were excellent
Breakfast was silly money
Everything was good.
Use of historic building. Former printing works of regional paper in art deco style (I think). Lots of historical features kept but did not sacrifice comfort.
Breakfast too expensive - not even a hot boiled egg!!! Ibis much better value for money. Parking a motorbike in their garage is as much as a car! Disgusting.
The hotel is very well located, right in the centre of Rennes. While the rooms are a fairly standard modern decor and layout, lighting is particularly good. The bed and bed linen are comfortable and good quality. Our room overlooked a lovely courtyard garden so it was very quiet at night. We had excellent free wifi access. Reception staff were very courteous and helpful.
The shower is above the bath, but there is no grab rail to hold on to so it's a bit tricky to get in and out of the bath. Breakfast is very expensive (€18.90 per person) so we popped out and got croissants in the nearest Boulangerie (€2.30 for 2!) instead. We couldn't access the on-site parking as we had a roof box and access to the car park has a 2m height restriction.
Breakfast is very expensive (almost 20 euro each)
bar and restaurant wasn't open on a Friday night.
. The reception lady concurred very aimiably with my comment and said she would raise it with management. Everything else was fine, but nicotine does not go away because of another odour sprayed over it.....
The room smelt of stale smoke and had an ash try in it with an odd "no smoking" sign in it. I threw it (the ash tray) in the bin since it has no place in a supposedly no-smoking hotel. Evidently the provision of an ash tray conveys a stronger message than the sticker inside it!
1. Expensive breakfast, twice the price of other hotels - same quality. 2. Eleven euros to park a motorbike? The same as a car, never paid that before, staff incapable of understanding! 3. Paper cups in bedroom for coffee
Excellent garden view
The location of this hotel is perfect for walking into town, even when (as it was) it is pouring with rain. Undercover, secure parking makes it doubly valuable as a place to stay. This was our second time here this year and we would certainly recommend it.
The hotel bar is closed on Fridays and Saturdays (which is unfortunately when we always seem to be there). They tell us that this is because it is a business hotel - apparently leisure customers are not expected to drink...?
The noise on my last night. It started at 9.30p.m and at 11.30p.m.I saw your night staff who came to my room,216,and could not identify where it was coming from, therefore a generally good stay was curtailed,I may stay again for all the good factors.
OTHER THAN THE DIFFICULTY WITH THE CAR IT WAS A PLSANT STAY. THANK YOU.
FINDING THE HOTEL BY CAR . STREET SIGNS TO HOTEL ARE BAD. I HAD TO HIRE A TAXI TO LEAD ME TO HOTEL. IN THE HEAT OF DAY NOT NICE.
that it was centrally located
felt it was overpriced and they charged for everything--parking/breakfast
Dog friendly hotel with secure garage parking ideal for those in transit seeking a weekend stopover. Businesslike accoutrements including superfast internet, good bathroom and bedroom. Very central.
Geared to business so no bar or restaurant at weekend, but that's probably why its a good deal on Saturday night.
Very difficult to locate the hotel
