Central location secure parking helpful receptionist
Room very small, top floor with more stairs to climb which was difficult with parents in their 80's landing lights going out too quickly. Room facing bell tower with bells ringing every 15 minutes. Car park difficult to find and expensive.
The rooms at this location were very spacious and included wonderful amenities. The location is extremely close and within walking distance to the cathedral and city center. The staff here was very helpful when we experienced difficulty locating the hotel due to road closures and one way streets.
It is a challenge to find this property.
Location, roof top room.
Underground Parking was difficult
*Staff was wonderful! *Breakfast buffet was very good!! *Location was perfect for walking around to see local sites. *The staff gave us a 'suite' (which had a sleeper sofa in the living room) so my cousin & I could each have our own privacy, which was awesome after a long flight and hours of driving from CDG airport.
*No mirrors except for the one in the bathroom, which made applying makeup & blow-drying hair challenging! *The staff is obviously used to guests having difficulty finding the front door to the hotel. We parked the car and walked to the front entrance because we could not figure out how to drive there. In the end, we were able to drive on a street that we thought was pedestrian only.
Self service breakfast, staff horrible!
Very comfortable, great location
Little bit expensive
The breakfast was excellent with a great variety of items including eggs, sausage, bacon, and crepes along with what one normally expects. The bed was comfortable with nice linens and the room included a good sized desk and closet. Within a block of the cathedral, the location was exceptional. Parking on site was at a reasonable cost and the garage was never full although the hotel appeared to be. We did not find it difficult to park there as some other guests have.
Even with GPS and having read the "important information" with directions on an alternate street address to use, it was difficult to find, but there were street signs with the hotel's name in the immediate area pointing in the right direction which really helped.
The hotel is situated very close to the Notre Dame and to all of the major sites of Rouen. Staff was courteous and helpful. The room was large with all of the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. I did not eat at the hotel, so I cannot comment on the food quality, but the room was well stocked with coffee/tea.
I have no complaints
Staff helped us with 2 private matters and went out of their way to assist us. Could not have been more helpful. Nice quiet room with great bed
Nothing at the hotel, but maybe staff should warn customers that taxi bookings can be a bit tricky and unreliable. So need to allow extra time.
Sat Nav doesn't take you anywhere near the hotel ! We spent almost an hour constantly driving around the centre of Rouen trying to get to the Hotel.
location, round the corner from cathedral - very central peaceful very spacious room
struggled to find public transport links, which were very good but not mentioned on website all museums are closed on Tuesday! be warned!
Lovely clean room, beautiful view and friendly staff
Nothing to dislike
Central position, only a short walk from all the key tourist destinations in the centre of Rouen. A quiet peaceful well presented hotel with convenient underground parking Stunning views from the balcony of our 5th floor room looking out across the roof tops of old Rouen, and the cathedrals
The hotel is tucked away in a warren of narrow one way streets and is difficult to find, sat nav does not help at all. Make you really have good directions and a large scale map!
Perfect location yards from the Cathedral, very comfortable room, excellent breakfast, superior staff. Great value
Note: auto navigation gets confused by pedestrian areas near this hotel.
1:room so small! the Air condition was broken!no cool wind, feel the room smell hot.no shoes for that even I pay RMB900 more! 2:the reception not good English!even I ask the normal question, also not take good care the guest!they do not clearly my booking incl BBF or not! 3:the bed in the middle depression!broken bed!
Great location for anything you want to do. Good sites, good restaurants nearby, good staff, parking underground but pay extra for that.
The problem is that it is difficult to find. Would be great if hotel could provide directions for those without a navigation system. We spent 2 hours trying to find it. Finally parked and walked to it but still couldn't figure out how to get there!
Staff were very efficient, pleasant and courteous.
The hotel is not easy to find! Sat navs take you to an underground car park/tunnel some distance from the hotel. We made several circuits and rang the hotel who gave us a different street name to try. In the end we parked and walked around and located the hotel and identified a route in. (To be fair, recent work to extend pedestrian only access parts of the city centre was probably the reason for sat nav confusion. The hotel could include details of this however on their website though rather than waiting for calls from confused travellers!) Although requesting a non smoking room when booking we were allocated a smoking room on a smoking floor. The carpets and furnishings in the hotel look well used and shabby. We stayed in three other Mercure hotels on this trip and were delighted with everything in the other hotels. Sadly this one did not match the other's high standards.
lovely location, and views from balcony. nice complementary cold drinks in fridge. very comfy bed, good quality pillows nice and quiet
privilege room booked for some extra luxury - but the air conditioning was very poor, and as there was a door only to the balcony, which if opened meant no privacy we had no fresh air - it was very hot and humid so room was uncomfortable. the bath/ shower had no anti slip in and was very slippery and dangerous. the coffee machine didn't work. very stingy small thin towels in bathroom. the chairs in room were not comfortable
Friendliness of the staff, location of hotel
Finding our way to the hotel through the one way system.! Even the satnav couldn't guide us through. It was a nightmare. We only got there because two very kind young men, walked to the hotel and arranged for us to drive through the restricted street.
a waiter's behavior ruined everything
Room 341 was excellent and the view was fantastic.
Lovely location, very central
Car park is a nightmare, down a very steep slope with very tight corners, and an extra charge of €13.50. For breakfast the charge is €17.50 each which I laughed at. We had coffee and pastries at a shop on the opposite corner for less than that for all three of us.
Fantastic location, right in the centre of town with a view of the cathedral. Privilege room has balcony with great views over the town streets and cathedral.
The balcony could have been provided with garden furniture - it's gravel surface was a bit peculiar. Otherwise no complaints at all.
Location and the nice room
Hard to find by car since the hotel is located in mainly pedestrian area. This info should be available on the hotel web site
Serenity in the middle of a very vibrant area
Getting my car to the car park. Felt like I was driving in a pedestrian precinct. Once there, everything was fine.
