Mercure Versailles Chateau  

Service and sincere reception for English speaking individuals was a breath of fresh air . The decor in the hotel and in the rooms was appealing and clean and relaxing. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was large, clean and inviting. The room hotpot allowed us to enjoy morning beverages while having the street window open for fresh air. The breakfast buffet included fresh high quality food items: sausages, bacon, cold cuts, cheeses, yogurt, fresh fruits, pastries, juices, pancakes, fresh bakery items, figs and a variety of organic high quality foods. Breakfast area was inviting and well attended. The entire stay was more than was expected for the price paid. The staff was outstanding in their attentiveness, hospitality and efficiency.

Everything was outstanding .....written walking directions from the train to the hotel would be a nice addition

Location and amenities

No one had any ice....had to go down the street to a bar to get any.

It was in the right area of Versailles, confortable and had a garage.

I think its was not a real design hotel, but I liked the pictures on the wall and the interieur of the hotel. We could not park the car near the hotel (car was too big), but the have a good parking near by. The hotel is near good restaurants.

Clean and easy walk to palace and train.

Ideally situated for visiting the Palace of Versailles, the car park is very tight. A pleasant city hotel.Some staff more helpful than others.

Very nice room and great breakfast

No bath!! We would have liked the option of a bath as we had just cycled 284 miles but I guess others may not worry so much!! The shower was good just not big enough to lie in!

Wifi and breakfirst are good, the hotel is located in a quiet street, i love the place.

The hotel was central and all the restaurants as well as the palace were in 5 minutes walking time.

As with the whole of Versaille parking is a nightmare - fortunately I was able to park my car at the hotel which has an small underground area for approx. 8 cars. I have visited Versailles before & I was well aware of the issues prior to my arrival.

It was well positioned close to the Chateau at Versailles and there were plenty of restaurants around.

The room was so small that we couldn't open our case and had to keep everything packed away. We had to walk crab-like to get around the bed. There was only about 30 cm between the bed and the wall on two sides. The sliding door to the bathroom kept sliding open so there was no privacy. We have stayed at a few Mercure hotels which have been good - this one let the chain down.

The location of the hotel was perfect, just down the road from the palace. great location for the sops and restaurants too. The rooms were comfortable, although not too big. Breakfast was great, good choice of buffet .

Parking could be a bit of a hassle, but we managed to find some free street parking further down from the hotel. The hotel has own parking, but not big enough for some cars, and needs pre-booking.

The garage is really, really small - not for all types of cars. There is no such information on the internet page.
