Very nice location on top of a Metro Subway Station. Fair room size Only 10 minute walk from Paris Gar de Nord Train Station. Staff a very friendly but do no speak English. Nice bar & restaurants around the hotel.
Very noisy so take some ear plugs to get a good night rest. Hotel are busy with revamping.
Nice and warm
Shower worked and was strong and hot. Plenty of blankets in the cupboard. Very close to the Gare d'Est and Gare du Nord.
A bit rundown and grubby even by Paris standards, but it is cheap. When I arrived at 10pm in December the window was wide open, so despite the radiator being on the room was absolutely freezing - had to sleep with all the blankets on, though it did warm up.
So close to public transit and so easy to get to where you need to from this hotel. The staff were great and friendly!
The shower didn't drain fast enough, but at least it got me clean!
The blanket over the bed had hairs in it, the sheets we're clean though
The location is nice. There is a hostle just a block away that is the same price, but at the Laff you get all the privacy. I've stayed here 3 times now and would return no problem! It's not the hilton or the ritz, you get what you pay for. It's great for young travelers like me. Thanks metropole Lafayette!
The noise was a bit much, but you're in a busy city. A busy city can be a great alarm clock, you are in Paris to see the city after all, not sleep away your vacation.
This is hotel with character and style. It's has its quirks. Its a bit like the Chelsea in NYC, it has a soul and charm to it. The staff were fantastic.
Could do with more plugs in the room.
bed bug, dust, mud, darkness, no lift, english
Its so dirty hotel, carpets was not cleaned and stink. Staff was not cooperative. Not recommended.
desk staff were nice, wifi was ok, a few meters from the metro and RER, pastry shop and restaurants available downstairs, along main street, housekeeping every morning
paid for 2 nights was only able to sleep for 1 night due room facilities, pillows are old brownish in color- no pillowcase, hard mattress, pungent smell of cigarettes and bad odor probably from unwashed carpet, dim yellow lights,no a/c,no lift
No accelator room was so stinky very small room wash room in bad condition
Wifi & the close area. Good price
Not super hygienic place. Door had a huge crack.. You can definitely peep in from the bottom
it was noisy so we couldn't sleep.
It was only 15-20 minutes from Gare du Nord.
It was filthy. A tramp slept outside, perhaps because it was more luxurious than the hotel. Stained bed covers. A barely working shower. 24 hour loud traffic outside. Above a noisy metro station. We arrived after 11pm and woke early the next day for a full day out in Paris and disneyland...with that plan in mind all we wanted was a clean bed and decent shower but this place couldn't even deliver that. I thought rooms like this existed only on tv in crack dens. Avoid.
Good advise and recommendation from hotel staff.
Toilet was very durty and uncleaned.
mattrasses were quite OK for a nap they obviously recently fixed the sink (at least). the windows can be closed and then you can hear the traffic only through the walls. no bugs (at least, I found none). derived from the hotel's shape, it's actually positive to remark, that there is no hotel breakfast. they redirect you to the cafe near by, which is actually surprisingly good. the metro station around the corner is not a disadvantage, either.
too dark colours. very small room for 4 beds (even too small for 2 beds). small and short bath tub. everything was falling apart: e.g. mirror in the bathroom bent away from the wall, fungi in the bathroom, small used-looking shower-head with thin and powerless waterfibers (rather than beams), unstable toilet seat, bathroom door does not close, one light didnt work, another showed naked wires, tv wall-mounted in an unusable angle to the beds (in a shape, that I didn't dare to touch it anyway), rotting stairs and no elevater to the 4th floor, no parking around, at all. next public parking hundreds of meters away for 32EUR per day! no wifi in the room, no hotel breakfast (it's only the cafe on the other side of the street). a strange and intensive smell everywhere in the hotel.
location sunny room stores around the hotel in front of metro , near gard de nor
tiny rooms stairs , no left
good price, excellent location, you can walk to the center, metro station is right in front of the hotel, nice & helpfull staff
quite loudy neughbourghood
Room was clean, not too noisy, reasonable location near to both North and East stations.
Poor communal atmosphere, very steep steps! Not for disabled or dodgy knees, no information regarding facilities, not all staff speak English, very hard bed.
The toilets are very bad. Water discharge doesn't go well. Not recommend to stay unless you are looking for trouble or so-so living condition. Not to mention you could barely have a good sleep around the noise area.
Location close to metro station. Staff were friendly Lots of restaurants
cleanliness of sheets and room in general Open unfinished rooms with pigeons and droppings in them. No shower head mounting. Looked like building site. Bedroom floor was wet. Bad smells.
This is one of best deal.Location wise too its one of best one. Staff was excellent and helpful, they helped to the best of their levels as we were new to city. JOYDEEP
Toilet Facilities should have Towels at-least. and Good shower.
The location was not bad.
EVERYTHING: -The showers didn't work -The toilet was not even attached to the wall or the floor -There was mold everywhere, -Our room had a slanted ceiling on which I bumped my head atleast 5 times -There were mouse droppings in the window
THINK BEFORE YOU CHOOSE! We(3 people in total) booked a room for 3 nights. The female staff asked us to change to another room for the third night suddenly without our prior consent. That room was full of fleas and insects. There was only one window which cannot be locked. It had poor ventilation and the window was facing a noisy road. After checking out, there was no luggage storage service and we could just put our belongings in a sitting room next to the reception with no CCTV. Generally, the floor is uneven. The lights are not working and cannot be switched on. The bathroom looks dirty and the toilet bow is broken. The staff cannot communicate in English effectively. This was our WORST memory in Paris!!!
