Score from 1255 reviews Very good
The decorations of the room were nice but the rooms were very small.
The lobby was not particulary inviting. The day staff was very good and helpful. I thought the price of the rooms were a little much given the size of the room.
very friendly staff, clean, reasonable breakfast
Excellent location within easy walking distance to Notre Dame centre and 2 minutes to a metro underground station. The hotel was clean, comfortable and breakfast was good value. The staff were most friendly and helpful. I would definitely book it again.
The rooms and bathrooms are spacious. You can tell they put a lot of effort into the bathroom. The owners are just so gracious and kind. Brigitte walked me through all of the amenities as well as spending 15 minutes showing me guides for the Champagne region.
1.Location. 2.Good cafes all around. 3.Cosmopolitan restaurants just round the corner 4.The Seine and Notre Dame just a few minutes away!
1.Small rooms - hardly any space to move around. 2.We wanted to iron a shirt - but it was never a convenient time to get acess to an iron or the ironing board, either morning or evening.
Location in Latin quarter, helpfulness of staff, quiet room, good bathroom, good bed and facilities in bedroom
Small bedroom, view only of air shaft,
The location The staff A nice breakfast
Good location, short walk to the river. Comfortable and well maintained. Breakfast was very good. Excellant cafes nearby. We enjoyed our stay.
Room was on the small side. Elevator was on the extremely small side.
Liked the quaint balcony and closeness to the Seine River. Restaurants were close and people were very friendly and happy to help you with your French.
The room was very small. Could not open the bathroom door all the way, bed was in the way. But we fit and everything worked.
Queen size bed and good sized bathroom. Big flat screen TV. Great location - not far from Notre Dame, near a Metro station and a lot of good places to eat nearby.
No tea/coffee facilities or refrigerator in room. Poor breakfast provided.
The Hotel was gorgeous especially our lovely balcony. The location of course was excellent and so were the staff.
The beds were a tad hard and the lack of a kettle to make tea and coffee was annoying especially if you bought one from their machine the cup was tiny and Luke warm.
Location is good.
Room is small. Facility is not good. Not worth the price.
-Good value for the money. Charming. -Friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms. -Location was central, could easily walk everywhere (if you're fit). -Good internet connection.
-The triple room was very small. There was no space for bigger luggage. The extra bed and its pillow were really uncomfortable. -Lift was very tiny and one would need to wait for it quite long. The hotel is not suitable for people with disabilities or with young babies. -I wouldn't pay 9€ for the breakfast. There are better options nearby.
We loved everything, from the location to the delicious breakfast. Thank you.
The staff were friendly, helpful and competent.
Unfortunately we were bitten so badly by bed bugs at this hotel so this negates anything positive about this hotel. We stayed in room 607.
The location is hard to beat and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
The walls are paper thin. We could hear every word of every phone call our neighbor made. He may as well have been in the room with us. The bed wasn't too comfortable but it was fine for one night. And I wanted to feel like I was in Paris, but the decor felt a little more like Ikea. The breakfast offering was a little skimpy, but okay. I'd recommend popping into one of the many local cafes instead.
We were charged for 2 nights accomodation when were were stranded in Istanbul and could not get to Paris because of Air France Pilot's strike. I can understand the first night but not for both nights. Especially because we had reservations to stay another 4 nights after we finally got there. Just thought it was excessive. Tried to talk to talk to the general manager about it but she would not see me.
All staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly. The room was small but I expected it. The hotel offered me a larger room or a smaller one with a balcony. I wanted the balcony and had a bit of beautiful rooftops and the spire of Notre dame in the distance. Great area, I walked everywhere, but some might want to take the metro. I would not recommend my small room for a couple some there is no place to our the luggage. For me, it was fine. I would definitely stay here again. For Paris, it is a good value. The area is full of bars, Restaurants and there is a small grocery store nearby. And there is an elevator!
See above about room size, but all reasonably pierced hotels in Paris have small rooms, so this is not a negative for the Minerva.
I chose this hotel because of the location and good reviews. It met all the recommendations. Our room was a very nice size and very modern even though the hotel itself is older in outside appearances. It is close to Notre Dame, lots of good restaurants and cafes and the subway/metro system. Probably the only thing missing was a coffee machine in the room. If we are fortunate enough to return to Paris I would definitely stay here again.
Honestly, the public transport system was fantastic and we were given easy instructions to everywhere we wanted to go from the hotel. the room is as small as our smallest bedroom at home but you know we enjoyed the intimacy of it. Just have a positive attitude and enjoy the whole experience is our tip.
None we can think of really... Just role with any punches and enjoy. It did take us a couple of days to get used to the aspect of loosing sense of direction, but I'm proud to say we even gave directions to a fellow traveller on our 3rd day, chuffed!
We loved the disco shower lights in our room. Hilarious! The shower was fantastic and a lot of HOT water. It was small, but then most hotel rooms in Paris are!
Food joints are open till late and are close by. Notre dam and metro is close. If staying there, walk out and start walking to ur right, cross the main street, go straight, at the end of the road on ur right there is a small shop for sandwiches etc. Try tht. They were good.
We requested for an early check-in. To compensate that I was ready for a early check-out also. But they didn't agree. We had to wait 4 hours!! Some of the fittings in the bath room were falling. It was not 100% clean.
The attitude & experience left me with not one positive memory or feeling about this hotel.
After 3 weeks in France, this was the only unfortunate situation I experienced. And it was completely unacceptable. The room was on the ground floor on reception level, the ONLY room on the ground floor, and next to the general toilets & the drinks and storage room. Upon my arrival, two staff members were moving glass drink bottles around from the storeroom & filling up vending machine outside the guest room, making a lot of noise. The area is stone flooring so even shoes are noisy. The guest room appeared to have no window, but in fact, did. The "window" opens onto an enclosed courtyard on the opposite side of which is another window, without curtains or blind, within the reception area itself. Lounge chairs are arranged beside that window, which means anyone sitting in reception can see straight into this " guest room". Room 100. As the courtyard was enclosed, there was not a single ray of light into the room which was completely dark. The electric light had to be on when using the room. I was assured that no-one used the courtyard. When I asked reception to please allocate me another room, I was told there was no other room available and I felt my request was just troublesome. As I had booked several weeks prior, I felt offended by the attitude & hence asked to see the duty manager. I was told she was "not in at present" & her expected time of return was unknown. When I asked again later, I was advised that she had said there is no ofher room avaiable. It was gefting worse! The manager had not even bothered to try to speak with me, a guest, who had requested to speak with her. The man who had been filling the drink machine earlier stepped up to the desk and, without introducing himself, said simply "Yes, madam!
Typically french hotel very comfortable and great location
