Mirano  

A true design hotel at a budget price. Personnel was helpful and friendly, the beds were amazing. Slept like a queen. The outdoor area was wonderful to sit in and enjoy a drink or a snack.

I did not have an issue with the distance to the city, it's a 15 min walk downhill, and 20 min back uphill, but I can imagine that being an issue for some.

Breakfast was great and the rooms were clean. The staff was also very nice

The location is not great. The website said 15 minutes walk from town but it would be more of a 30 minutes walk to be honest...

Position is not functional to visit Biarritz since you need to take the car and drive to the centre. Rooms are very small and, although the hotel seems new, they miss a lot of comfort. Breakfast is extra and very expensive. Price-quality ratio is very low!

What a delightful place. Right from the moment we arrived we felt very welcome and relaxed at the Mirano. The staff were unbelievably helpful and friendly. Our host gave us a load of recommendations for good places to eat, drink and be merry and every one of them was brilliant advice. If you stay here, follow every word of advice you are given. The hotel is beautifully decorated in a 70s style with bright colours and patterns everywhere. Oh and the staff were so accommodating that the cleaning lady took notice of who had gone out and who hadn't and waited until we had left for the day before even coming near our room to clean it. We aren't early risers and we didn't have a knock on our door all week! We loved this hotel.

The only tiny thing I think a visitor may like to know about this hotel is that it is a 15 to 20 minute downhill walk from the center of Biarritz and the beach. Obviously this means that the walk home is uphill which may bother some visitors. However, we already knew this when booking and it didn't bother us a bit. If anything it meant we could enjoy more off the lovely basque food without having to worry too much about pilling on the holiday pounds!

Cool retro style decor in reception / lounge. Modern and bright bathroom suite. Convenient location for airport (10 mins by Route 8 bus which stops outside hotel) Bus also goes to centre of town every 20 mins but stops at 2000hrs. Friendliness of two men who manage the hotel.

Location inconvenient for beaches and town centre. The last bus to the centre is 2000hrs so rely on taxi to and from hotel ( 10euro each way and max 4 persons each cab) The Taxi service in Biarritz is simply appalling. Told unable to pre book and after 2300hrs waiting up to an hour at only taxi rank in centre. Previous reviews said pleasant 15 mins walk to centre. Our party was 2 adults and 4 teenagers. All very fit but boring walk when repeated many times and tiring when made more than twice a day. Absolutely nothing to do at hotel and no bars nearby. Rooms have No mini bar. No air-con. No English channels or news on tv. No mirror in bedroom. No cupboards or drawers whatsoever not even bedside cabinet so you basically live out of your suitcase. As no air-con we had to have window slightly open this let in noise from busy road outside with buses and lorries passing in the morning. We did not eat breakfast at hotel as would be 54 euro a day for 6 of us for a typical continental b/fast in hotel with no ambience or views. Would not recommend staying here unless for 1 or 2 nights only or you have a hire car.

The staff were great. Very helpful with directions and best places to go. The hotel is about a 10-15min walk to the beach but situated in a very quiet area so fantastic night's sleep! The rooms are very elegant and stylish.

Friendly staff, nice clean hotel. Although this hotel has no parking, there are plenty of places to park on roads...a nightmare in central biarritz. Mirano is only a 10 minute walk outside. 10 minute drive from airport also!

No complaints really, a kettle in the room with tea making stuff would have been nice!

The decor is outstanding. There were many nice touches on the hospitality front from tasty lollipops at check-in to fresh orange juice in the morning. The walk to the beach and the centre ville is nice although a bit of a trek (twenty minutes or so at a leisurely pace).

We only wish we could have stayed longer.

I felt like I knew the host from before. I felt like coming back to friends!

Absolutely fantastic hotel. We travel a lot and this one is truly great. Personally decorated rooms, nice athmosphere, super friendly and professional service with perfect tips to explore the city. No parking problems.

The hotel was beautiful! Very well laid out and decorated.. Staff were amazing! So helpful and friendly.. recommending great spots to eat and drink.. even on a rainy day they had bright smiles.. offers of umbrellas and weather forecasts for better weather at hand. The hotel is a little walk from the town but we found the stroll very relaxing and more than a little necessary after all beautiful dinners!! We had a great holiday!
