Location is near Paris East Gar. Easy to go through metro line.
Locations near Gar is problematic so do not stay at this hotel if you have safety concerns After 6 pm, personnel locked outside door to keep hotel on the safe side, which caused feeling unsafe at the hotel.
Location, friendly staff, clean, everything works.
Hotel Modern Est is a good hotel if you're traveling on a budget and you're not looking for luxury. The metro station was just outside the door, and Montmartre and Sacre Coeur were in walking distance.
The neighborhood did not feel very safe at night. Room decor is very old-fashioned.
Location. Metro Station in Front. Good breakfast.
I booked room with bat tube. but not to use (no bathtube-plug) also when I asked for it.
The location is great if you are in Paris for a couple and days and you need to be able to get at the East/north train station very fast. The uderground is also really close. The hotel itself is pretty clean;the personal is friendly, hardly speaking English though. The room is rather small but for Paris it is normal.
It is obvious that it is really noisy at night,as the hotel lies right in front of the train station. Also a bus station lies under the window and the buses riding all the night long. This district is rather poor,so be ready to meet a huge amount of beggars and immigrants.
Friendliness of staff, convenient location, security of rooms and the breakfast was good. Have stayed 3 times before!
Nothing really - the facilities are quite basic but overall nothing to dislike
It has roof. There is a metro station nearby. The personnel is friendly. Has bathroom in the room.
The building is very old. It feels as if would fall apart The floor is very uneven The walls are very thin and everything is heard. The bathtub is very old and was yellow-ish (it's supposed to be white). The location is near one of the worst neighbourhoods in Paris. Its very noisy due to a lots of traffic and loitering people around. It smells very bad because of the train station nearby (Paris population pees everywhere). The Wi-Fi connection was very unstable at the 3rd floor and the speed was less than satisfying. We couldn't connect during the 1st day but the personnel fixed the issue. The elevator smelled of mold. Hostel quality at hotel prices.
The position is good as very close to Gare de l'est, maybe not so safe during the night but the hotel is so clos to the metro (like a meter) that nothing can happen in a meter! Staff is nice
The walls of the hotel are so thin that you could heare every single little noise. We haven't slept almost at all... Also a very bad smell was coming from the bathroom..
The location is very convenient (in front of the Gare de l'Est metro station) and the hotel is clean even though the rooms are dated and small.
All members of the staff were obsessed with leaving the key at the reception every time we were out.
Friendly staff who spoke English. Good location for getting around Paris including Gare du Nord. Good buffet breakfast. Room was clean & towels changed each day.
Room was small & agree with other reviews needs updating but for 1 person was fine.
All the essentials were provided. Fantastic location - metro entrance to Gare de l'est on its doorstep.
The decor was somewhat dated. Breakfast not included. No kettle in room.
Poor wifi Thin wall Staff do not know English
No airco - old blanket
Clean and comfortable room. Personal is helpful, but not very friendly. It's great for 3/4 nights.
Breakfast is one and the same ever day, very basic, no fresh fruts. The area is not nice in the the evenings, bad smell and weird people around.
Location is very practical near Gare de l'Est and Gare de Nord.
The floor inside the room had a strange slope that made us dizzy. The beds wandered around the room as they had unrestrained wheels.
Close to station for early morning train.
No air conditioner on what was a hot and humid night - fan helped but had to open window to circulate the air so traffic noise. We were so tired we slept anyway.
It's not very clean
Great Breakfast. Just in front of a metro station and of the Gare de l'Est. You can store your own food and liquids in the room's refrigerator.
Room was very warm.
It was a nice hotel near to gare do eest and gare do noort, walking distance to the station less than 5 min, rooms were clean, friendly staff, and excellent price... Working wifi ...excellent
Cleaning was ok but i could not even touch the bath curtains were really old and dirty, yellow and brown , and were supposed to be white, was the only thing cus the rest was clean and with a good smell...the rest is perfect as long as u dont touch the curtains from ur bathroom...
- Staff's friendliness. - Location. Close to Gare De L'est, need just few steps. - Low budget. Suitable for backpacker.
- No air conditioner which made our summer night there really hot as in oven. After we'd opened the window for the cooler air, the surrounding air's smell was terribly foul.
Location was great. Very friendly and good communication. The double glass doors that opened into the room so that you could take in Paris. Breakfast was very French and tasteful.
There was nothing to dislike.
Location was great for me because of nearness to train station. Also subway was right there
Neighborhood was questionable, would think twice about bringing family
Room was clean and comfortable.
It was a bit loudly outside, since the hotel is located near the train station.
The location is convenient and the room was very quiet for being on a busy noisy street. The beds are comfortable.
There was no air conditioning and the fan they provided was not very strong. We didn't feel particularly safe walking around the neighborhood, the hotel is on a very busy and very noisy street next to Gare de l'est.
location in Gare de I'Est, just one stop to Gare du Nord and you can walk to, it's safe and nice view, especially bathtub is clean.
you need to open the windows if not is no air in the room and it will be too noise once opened.
