Being near to station
Not being able to book an early morning call
location was excellent for my needs ie close to gare lyons
a bit abrupt on first contact
I got stitches from bed bugs, for the first time in my life, after sleeping for one night at Modern's. Unbelievable that an Hotel like that is allowed to exist at the center of Paris. No stairs Unpleasant personell Not hygienic
Pokey, chaotic hotel with drab brown decor 2nd, 3rd floor rooms with dodgy spiral staircase. Loose electrical wires, suspicious sockets Broken shower base, smelly toilet Room barely big enough for the tiny double bed
One amazing thing was that we were in such a hurry to leave that we paid in cash not realising that we had already pre-paid! The Lovely man on the desk chased after us to give us our money back! This restored our faith in human kind this horrible area!
The room was squalid, filthy and damp. We wondered what wildlife we were having to share the bed with! In a red light district, or so it seemed, we took it in turns to stay awake....so noisy, the screaming and banging all through the night made us feel very frightened! Paid up and ran as early as we could!
friendly helpful staff, location convenient to train station and close to Seine, price.
My room was small, which for my amount of luggage was harder to stay organized.
I had a horrible time. The staff is very unfriendly. Also, there are bed bugs. I didn't get a good nights sleep even once. The rooms are also not clean. Do not book this hotel!!!!!
NO LIFT YOU HAVE TO WALK UPSTAIRS WITH YOUR LUGGEGE.
Nothing is satisfied.
Very bad, don't live in this hotel, horriable, unhealthy, not clean
very close to Gare du Lyon
Mite, Spiders, Insects in the bed. They bite me in the night and still pain and itching remaining.
Excellent location for Gare de Lyon & Gare De Austerlitz. Much cheaper than other places close by. In a side street, so not much traffic noise. Staff spoke enough English to get by.
The place was being refurbished, so there was a strong smell of paint throughout. There was a large dent in one wall were you could see the lath underneath. The electrics had bare wires covered with tape & broken switches. I hope my room was due to be redone, but if it wasn't I wonder how they got a safety certificate.
Scruffy stairs very steep. Just very run down
the location of the hotel near gare de lyon train station
the hotel is dirty and mold the room. The only thing modern about this hotel is bathroom
Close to the gare the lyon train station
No elevator Too old Room have smells mold
The only good thing is the location, right next to the gare de Lyon
The hotel is horrible. Everything is really dirty including the shower towels..they don't clean the rooms and everything smells mould. The staff is totally unhelpful and there's many different weird men who work there. There's no elevator and the stairs make it basically impossible to go up with the luggage (by the way no one of the useless men offered help). The bathroom was just disgusting looking like it was never cleaned before, the towels were super dirty and when asked to change, they did for other dirty ones. Someone entered the room and forgot another's room key and the other day they forgot a towel which was used to "clean" the floor. The photos on the site are totally not true. Terrible and not so cheap.
General condition of the hotel was poor
Good location close to the Gare de Lyon but still on a quiet backstreet
Condom wrapper in the toilet when I arrived - I don't think I need to say any more...
Bathroom - ok. No inscects.
Rude and unwilling to help staff without uniforms. Walls dirty and scruffy. My room untidy - looks like an old cellar. Bedding unchanged. Stuff when demanded to change the sheets - reluctantly gave me another bedding so I could change it by myself! It turned out that they do not iron sheets. It's incredible that such a room cost almost 90e!
Location good, good service from office.
Shower filthy and overhead rosette didn't work, sliding rosette had to be hand held, Lavatory bowl and lid loose, handbasin cracked, skirting board in room not attached to wall.
This is my worst hotel I lived: Dirty, expencive, unfriendliness, removed the sofa without any explaination or communication, room is small, and ...
The staff was nice and the location near of the Gare de Lyon makes easy the journey.
The room is too small. It is impossible to seat between the table and the bed. I heard the radio of the neighbor all the night because of the thinness of the wall.
The boss charged us 10% more and the breakfast(7 euros) is four pieces of bread.
It was close to the train station, but hard to find at first.
No elevator and many steps to climb...old property in need of some paint & paper; very noisy, mostly from the street and you need to keep the window open when it's warm out. The room was pretty small.
There is no services no left to up five levels with baggage.is very expensive regarding the services. No materials concerning the life in the small room.
