We were in a newly refurbished bedroom ... Good location close to the quay and restaurants..

No parking.... The breakfast is far too expensive 7.50 euro for a cup of coffee a dry croissant and a yoghurt. No fresh fruit was offered.... There was no one on reception on arrival; however the cleaner eventually called for assistance!. .The public areas need refurbishing

A good friendly welcome from the manager and a really clean, quiet and bright airy room decorated in modern style at the back of the main building. Firm comfortable beds, clean bright shower room good fresh towels and bed linen. A small writing desk and free wifi enabled continuous business contact. Breakfast typically French old-style with bread, croissant, confiture and coffee. Don't be put off by the exterior, it is ideally located within a very short walk of some excellent restaurants with marina views (Try La Marina and sit upstairs for modern, outstanding cuisine, crisp table linen and good service - worth that bit extra) and just 5 minutes drive from the ferry terminal.

Parking on street is a bit problematic but there is a paid-for public car park about 100 metres away.

Room very comfortable very clean didnt have any tea/coffee facilities so we took our own so no problem there. Parking right outside maybe we were lucky but there were many other parking spaces avaliable in short walking distance. Staff very friendly and helpfull as you would expect. Would definately return again on my next visit thoroughly enjoyable stay !!

Wardrobe too small for hangers, but OK for a night or two.

An overnight stay before catching the morning ferry, we wanted to be near a good restaurant in Cherbourg and the ferry terminal. Our selected restaurant turned out to be a couple of minutes walk away as was the city centre shopping area and the port, very good for an evening walk. The man on reception turned out to be responsible for serving breakfast as well - so he did well settling bills with people leaving whilst serving others with breakfast. Needless to say, breakfast was traditional french bread and croissants, with no frills.

There is a night club opposite which plays music until 3.00 A.M. This did not upset our night's sleep but it might do on other nights.

Very convenient position, easy car parking, extremely clean, late check out.

The beds were pure heaven, clean & so comfortable.

We stopped over at the Hotel Moderna at both ends of our holiday in France. It's handy for the ferry port and also the town centre. It's on a quiet street but with lots of restaurants just round the corner (we ate at La Regence both times.) We were able to park right outside the hotel on both visits (though if the spaces were taken you'd have a bit of a problem.) It nods towards designer-boutique without losing its charm or acquiring the price tag.

It is a typical French hotel. Looks like nothing from the outside, but inside the rooms are very nice, the beds were really comfortable, staff were very friendly, breakfast was good, and the French plumbing was very acceptable! I would definitely stay there again.

A great little hotel close to the Railway station, Port and Town Centre - useful for those stopping off, or coming for a weekend break from the UK. Many different rooms (including 3 and 4 beds in a room), all ensuite, very clean. No lift though.

Somebody's used toothbrush left in our room and not thrown away by housekeeping staff. Use of free parking in the list of positives/facilities when in fact it's a bit of pot luck if you find a space in a local car park that's free for a limited time and nothing to do with the hotel.

Location was perfect for ferry terminal. Nice selection of restaurants few minutes walk away. WiFi free and easy to access, number is available in the room.

Nothing, it is a budget hotel and you get what you pay for.

The Hotel was very clean, the staff were helpful friendly and very polite. Parking was close by. Very quiet at night, beds were very comfortable. The room was cleaned and tidied everyday and always looked nice. The only suggestion i could make is that a kettle, cups, tea and coffee etc could be provided in the rooms. Will stay there again in the future

Really nice hotel with great hosts

Old school family-run small hotel. Charming and helpful management. Good location on the edge of Cherbourg's old town and marina/sea front.
