The location was great, very close to local bars and restaurants. Near to the metro. Room was comfortable and clean.
The reception and lounge area was a building site. This had not been me biting at the point of booking and we were disapointed with the lack of places to sit and relax in the communal parts of the hotel and the mess. We requested an extra pillow but this was not arranged or mentioned again to us by a member of reception staff, who we felt wasn't interested in the first place. The mini fridge wasn't working and we were told would be looked at but remained unrepaired with no feedback from reception as to why not.
very good location, convenient. good value
when we asked the concierge to help us to book a table at a restaurant, upon arrival the restaurant said that they did not receive the reservation. we also asked the same concierge to book a taxi transfer to the airport, but the staff on the morning of checkout appeared surprised that we had made such an arrangement and had to call the taxi driver again.
Room was ok
Place looked like a dump downstairs and all surrounding hotels had building works all through the day, very noisy, no thought 4 residents at all!!!!
was a building site!!
The room was a good size and the bathroom was modern and functional despite its size. Great location.
No Coffee and Tea making facilities. The Wi Fi was very poor to non existent. It worked fine out in the corridor near the lift.
Bed was comfortable
The hotel was under renovation, debris and dust everywhere, including the dining room. The staff were apathetic, rude, overwhelmed by the noise made by workers.
The staff is really helpful and friendly
The hotel's hallway is under renovation
Incredible poor service and rude staff, dirty and messy. They treat customers with no respect so my advise is, stay away from paying a lot of money and get the biggest dissapointment trip.
As a "habituée" at hotel Mondial I'd like to have The petit déjeuner include
Staff are very accommodating.
should not be operating while under construction.
I liked the friendly staff and the triple room I had was very spacious & comfortable.. The location was perfect for shopping! Although in the middle of renovations the mess wasn't too bad in foyer!
That when offered by desk staff to order us a taxi when checking out of hotel that we weren't informed of the extravagent charges we incurred a because it was a phone booking!! Along with our bags we started the trip at €9.50 which was more than our trip to get to the hotel from station!!!
beds are comfortable. bathroom is excellent. room cool and comforatble. staff freindly
lift cramp. not any choices for sight seeing package.
Location was good, Steffens excellent and room spotless
They had serious renovations going on in the foyer
The hotel was in a great location for exploring Paris.
From the scalding water temperature of the shower (difficult for young children to avoid) to the inability to control the airconditioner temperature from your own room to the pair of socks found under the desk from a previous guest. This Hotel is disgraceful.
The hotel was in renovation and we did not know. So much dust. Horrible not to tell client about this.
Hotel lobby and reception area are being renovate, but Booking.com page did not mention that.
Nice location and still quiet place. Friendly personal during the day.
House in renovation.
The rooms were comfortable and relatively spacious, especially by Paris standards. The staff was courteous, helpful, and attentive (not to mention fluent in English). The hotel was also situated near multiple restaurants and bars, and was conveniently located near a Carrefour grocery.
The hotel is located on an alley street, the entryway to which appeared to serve as a gathering point for bums, at least one of whom was literally laying on the sidewalk leading into the alley street while exposing his genitals (on multiple occasions). Whenever he was chased away (and he was, repeatedly), he was replaced by other unsavory types. Many made periodic attempts to grab passersby. I do not mention this because I feel the hotel is at fault, but because it might be a concern to female travelers or families with young children. The hotel--along with many others on the street--is also in the process of renovating their lobby. The staff were clearly doing their best to minimize the impact of the renovations, but it was a bit of a nuisance.
This was the worst hotel I have EVER stayed in. The entire lobby are is under construction and is a complete mess. Wires all over the place, dust, etc. We were given the wrong room upon arrival (a double when we had booked a triple). Second, the hotel did not want to honor our free breakfast which was clearly printed on our confirmation. When we finally switched rooms, the TV was broken (cracked screen and no picture), and the shower was also broken (the hose from the faucet to the shower head was broken and was leaking water which affected the water pressure coming out of the shower head). When we asked to switch rooms again due to these issues, the receptionist asked "Can it wait until tomorrow??" I asked to speak to a manager and they said that there is no manager on site on the weekends. The next day I asked to switch rooms again and was told that they were booked to capacity and we could not switch. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. Also, the room keys are reset every day so you need to look for someone when you return to the hotel so they can reset the key. Finally, due to the construction, there was an animal trapped in the space between our room and the adjoining room between the two locked doors so there was fluttering and cooing all night. WORST HOTEL EVER. DO NOT STAY HERE, YOU WILL REGRET IT. Booking.com will not help you at all. They told me to handle it with the hotel directly. The hotel offered to give me a 10% discount after the fact and now they do not answer phone calls or emails.
Problem with shower that they never resolved.Showerd in two different rooms after other guests had left for two days.
Where it was!
Renovations going on, didn't know when we booked it. Also paid cash on arrival then when we were checking out they told us they had taken of our card as well but voided it after. We don't know until we get home again to check!
I would not stay here again, the place was a building site, the parking was a joke, we did not have running water when we needed it, the staff were rude, in particular ( the manager and front desk personnel). It was a complete disappointment, do not stay at this hotel, they do not know how to treat people well!
Everything except for location, Moved to other hotel on my last night even though I've had already paid. Will never recommend .
Really the only good thing about this hotel is the location. It's located in the Opera district which is a good central location with a few available metro lines. The rooms were also clean and there was good wifi. Other than that, this was one of the worst hotels I've stayed at- including the hostels I've been to around Europe.
Where to begin? First off, no where does it mention on their website that they are undergoing a complete renovation. The pictures on their website look nothing like the hotel. The lobby is a construction zone. They were tiling the floor and we had to walk across a loose wooden board to get to and from the stairwell. They also begin drilling each morning at 8am so if you are on the first couple of floors you hear the construction noises the whole time. We also requested a quiet room as we're very light sleepers. We were put right next to the elevator. Since they had blocked off the stairwell for construction, it meant that we heard every person staying in the hotel go up and down as the elevator is extremely old and creaky. While the rooms themselves have been recently renovated, the hallway and lobby look nothing like the photos. It looks like they are renovating the Haunted Mansion. It smells of dust and smoke. Lastly, we requested they call us a taxi to take us to the airport. When we came down with our bags, we found out they had forgotten to call the taxi. They called one right away, but it was our only request besides a quiet room and they could not accommodate. I would have checked out if I wasn't only there a few days. It's by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed in- it shouldn't even be open while they're doing all this construction. And by no means should it be considered a 3 star hotel. It's overpriced & somewhere I would advise no one to ever stay. There are far better places to spend that much money on a hotel in Paris.
The room had free wifi. The bedroom and bathroom were clean and acceptably comfortable
The whole interior looked like a building site, was a complete mess. They had no secure storage area to leave luggage and terrible facilities. They only had an iron 1 of the nights and did not have an ironing board. We had to get the keycard reset for a 2nd night without any apology from the staff-as though it was the most normal thing in the world.
