large room, location,
the strong scent/deodorizer/cleaner used in the room... too strong. The photo used on booking.com does not reflect the true location / hotel.
Excellent location near railway station. If you had a car it might not be easy to find or park, but we returned our hire car before we checked in. Lovely old style hotel.
Car parking might be a problem.
this hotel isn't te ritz carlton by any means, thank god. a bit rundown, it is a slice of the real in all the chinz n psuedo glitz of cannes. a great location away from the armani cafe n expensive hand bags of the beach front, if you are a real traveler... you'll appreciate it!
I liked that the hotel was 20 meters away from a tram stop and you can walk to visit the old part of the town
The hotel needs to be renewed a little bit, at least some paint. We stayed two nights in a room with a dusty moquette and a hole on the ceiling. After the first night hey didn't clean the room, we asked in reception if it was normal and the receptionist replied rudely "i will tell it to the staff" I was expecting at least "i'm sorry" but probably they don't point that much on recurring clients, they just aim for an hit and miss.
- Located in the center. - Really beautifully decorated. - Convenient parking. -Clean
Everything was ok.
The Oceania is classically styled, the rooms are large, comfortable and clean and the staff are just wonderful. The reception area has a gorgeous sitting area and the hotel itself is close to the heart of the city. Considering the price it's one of the city's best accommodation options.
Quaint, slightly shabby, but pleasant.
Restaurant not good but there are lots of very good restaurants around.
Great location, good value for money, specially considering the room size (double standard).
Outdated decor, expensive breakfast.
Good position, beautiful hotel
Breakfast costs TOO MUCH!!! 17 euros??? Come on! The door of my bedroom was broken. The reception was always empty, the girls were always in the room beside talking and chatting, at least they could put a bell at the reception for the clients to call them. Anyway I would never pay this price for this level of service. They have to improve many things.
Good secure parking, just around the corner, which connects with the back of the hotel. The pool would have been inviting had it not been that time of year. The overall ambience of the hotel was one of a grandiose place.... once! The breakfast was varied and sufficient to set us up for the day. Overall a well situated stopover, being within walking distance of the city centre.
The breakfast bar was topped up rather slowly and as such it was difficult to compile an "English " cooked breakfast. On arrival there were only eggs and a heater so you could cook your own. Then (later) came scrambled eggs.... and as we were leaving some bacon arrived. In effect this meant we had a continental buffet breakfast which was fine. Of 8 hotels on our trip it was the only one to offer a hot option.
Everything too old. Room smell. Bathroom. Trouble with payment. Two stars would be enough.
The grand history of the hotel, hotel layout & room size.
Very run down, expected more for the price. Very hard, low bed, grubby & worn decor, bathroom door didn't close without force. Disappointing, especially when you can see the potential of this previously grand hotel.
The location and the attention that we received from Anais, the front desk person.
The hotel is in a great location and has lots of old world charm. Didn't realise the homeless situation was so prevalent in the centre, that said we weren't bothered. Breakfast was very good for a contintal type with eggs and bacon. We stayed in a corner suite on the 4th floor.
Messy dirty streets with homeless types wondering around.
Was surprised by how large the room was Quiet at night Just off the Place de la Comedie
Location Outside terrace area Good breakfast Safe in room Staff good Comfortable beds
No wifi in room very annoying but ok in lobby Dinner menu odd and same every night room service better A short walk from train station Bathroom a little dated
Location right next to station Free WiFi Original features - love the old luggage lift! Comfortable rooms Great buffet breakfast
The hotel building is really nice, with a nice garden, chic lobby and a pool to enjoy between 8am to 8pm. My room is large and bright, with a window facing a charming street. If you feel nosiy, just close the window and the noise will be well isolated. The staff are pro and efficient. Really enjoyed my stay there.
The button for switching from bath to shower is very tricky. You need to be hightly smart to find out how it works. Otherwise, just call reception for help.
My Room was not at all like the one shown on the hôtel site.
Stayed in the Executive Double; lovely comfortable king bed. Luxury hotel in walking distance of the centre of Montpellier and the old town. Went to the Vietnamese restaurant across the street as many restaurants are closed on a Sunday in September. The pool was nice to sit by in the afternoon sun; the bar was a fun spot to end the evening; we met a great couple from Germany. Did not take breakfast at the hotel but it looked wonderful.
Pool not heated but most are not in France.
The hotel facilities eg pool and terrace were lovely & unexpected considering the location. Fantastic location. Great staff. Large rooms. Very safe carparking.
The room had seen better days, with stained walls, broken fixtures, broken window, lights not working and only 1 electric socket that worked. The bed was quite uncomfortable.
This hotel is ideally placed right in the centre of Montpellier. There are lots of restaurants, bars and shops in the area. It is also close to many of the tourist sites. The reception and public areas of the hotel are really nice, which was unfortunately let down slightly by the quality of the accommodation in the rooms. The breakfast was good but we thought the choice was a bit limited. There is a nice, secluded sitting area outside with a small plunge pool.
If you're driving to the hotel it is not very easy to find the right street - even with GPS - we had a few goes around the one way system before we found our way in! I was a bit disappointed at the quality of the accommodation - the rooms definitely need a revamp! Much of the furniture was made of formica which had seen better days, a lot of the paint had been chipped off the bottom and edges of the doors and walls and the carpet was a bit grubby in some areas. I was enjoying breakfast in the morning in the dining room - until I noticed crumbs on the floor which an army of ants were in the process of carrying off (carpet again - who puts carpets in hotels these days? - yuck)
location, friendly staff, swimming pool, original features in hotel
Furniture in bedroom was dated & a bit scruffy & chipped Beautiful grand building but needs investment & modern amenities Food & drink was very expensive (even breakfast!) The shower in our room was very small & as average sized people it was a struggle to get in & out of the sliding door!!!
clean and neat hotel very close to the center of the city and the central train station. Good value for money.
It would be better if there was a small refrigerator in the room something standard worldwide. Could not print my boarding pass (blocked by the computer system) and the clerks did not klnow how to help me
