In central Paris, Hôtel Du Plat d'Etain is located between the Marais and Beaubourg districts of the city, a 10-minute walk from the Pompidou Centre.

The staff is great, the cleaning is very good, wifi is free (although a bit intermitent, but enough for casual usage), the neighborhood is fantastic (Le Marais is my favorite place to stay in Paris) and the quality/price ratio for this small hotel is very appealing. Yes, the rooms are very small as I read from other reviews, but this is Le Marais and for this price you won't get any luxury suite. It has enough space to hang the suits, the shirts, place the suitcase against a wall. For business trips it's all I need.
The rooms are a little bit too hot, even during the cold January. The heating system is based on water pipes and I had to turn it off as soon as I arrived and never turned it on again. I imagine that during the summer the rooms are extremely hot and since there is no AC (the staff told me it was planned for 2016), only a fan and a window might not be enough to allow a confortable stay.
Very good location, near metro station, bars, cafes and restaurants. Marais is the best neighborhood in Paris! Clean, warm room. Basic but nice breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Small room without closet (common in Paris?). Traffic Noise from the street.
Location is great, Quiet
Lift not always working, very small rooms and bathroom, not so clean staircases, breakfast choice is limited and quality is average for the price
These folks went way out of their way to make us comfortable, find information for us and make the wireless available. They were exceptionally warm and welcoming every time we walked in the door. I would recommend this hotel very highly!
The room was rather tight on space but we were able to make it work with two suitcases. Wireless was weak or unavailable in our room.
The beds are so comfortable Wifi Charming location of Paris
location and central heating
small, noisy, the doors bang and if you have bad neighbours during the night difficult to sleep
The staff were extremely helpful, they went above and beyond every time we asked for something. I couldn't have asked for better service.
The room was very small, however this may be standard. It was very clean, well kept and comfortable, however, and had lovely views. Service more than makes up for any lack here.
Clean and Nice rooms Close to metro station
Breakfast was very expensive and not worth the money The area was a bit dull WiFi was not working
Internet wifi conectivity was quite poor during the last two days of my stay. Room was extremely small, even for Paris' standards (as was the lift, which only fits two people or 150kg). I missed a safe in the room.
Staff friendliness Location
Smallish hotel close to a Metro station, on a side street. Fair number of restaurants in the area. Handy for many sights. Room on the small side but perfectly adequate, with comfortable beds. Good value for Paris.
Could be a little noisy if you have to have the windows open, for example, on a hot day. We didn't sample the breakfast.
It is a good budget hotel with small rooms but ok for a few nights
We loved this little hotel! There's lots to be seen around. Food wise, there are some good restaurants around, especially the "enfants rouges" market with its variety of foods at very reasonable prices. Well worth a visit.
The room could be bigger but then again this is Paris...
You can walk to almost all the attractions. We took the Batobus to go to the Eiffel Tower and the metro to Montmartre, otherwise we just walked.
Not perfect connection.
Rue de Bretagne is close by. Picasso museum newly opened, also close by. Staff super friendly and helpful. One inconsiderate hotel guest smoked a cigarette (non smoking hotel) the fire alarm went off. A bit much to put everyone through. Never mind the French as a whole do not grasp the idea of 2nd hand smoke. Anyway.... That and the absolute tight - minute size of rooms elevators are the only down side. It was fine. Ear plugs required.
Size of room, bathroom, and shower. Worlds smallest elevator.
good location helpfull reception very clean
very small bathroom and lift
The hotel staff speaks good English and they are welcoming. Being at the center of Le Marai area, it is still quite.
The hotel room is a bit small and the sound block is not ideal.
Room is clean. Location is very convenient. Good restraint nearby and metro station is just 2mins walk. Staffs at reception are really helpful and patient.
Lift is too small to carry. Breakfast is just so so, not many choices but a bit expensive(12euro).
The staff was terrific and very helpful. breakfast was average. the location was perfect for all the sigh seeing things to do.
room was so small for 2 people, bathroom miniature size.
Quite difficult to find Wifi was poor
The location The staff attention
The rooms are very small almost no space for your things. No minibar The toilet looked broken or in construction There where making rehabilitation works so there was some paint smell in the building The lift is too small, so, sometimes you have to wait too long for it
Superb location in Le Marais with friendly and helpful staff. Close to Metro station.
close to metro station, staff was fine and especially Charles was excellent, next to bakery to buy fresh baget
small room but one can manage, curtains need to be washed, noise from the street (but on the other hand that makes you feel the city)
