Excellent,
Score from 852 reviews
“ We stayed 2 nights. The hotel is over-the-top magical. It is a truly beautiful hotel. We were treated with utmost care and at check-in, we were personally walked to a room which looked like it decorated for royalty. Loved it!! The hotel is perfectly located across the boulevard from the beacj, one block from the Rue De France walking street. I strongly recommend this hotel. ”

Staff are excellent, very helpful. Rooms very comfortable. This is not a super modern hotel, so thankfully it has loads of character. The art collection throughout the hotel is fabulous. Really worth staying there. Very central. You have to pay to use the private beach. Pity of a bit they charge for this.

Our Room was beautiful with garden and partial sea view....it was more than we excpected as there was an excellent view of the sea, garden and city. We had a small balcony which was an added bonus. The artwork and design of the hotel was amazing, and the location very very good! room service was terrific! The bar service was a little slow, but very expensive...La Rotunde Brasserie was generally good but one meal of Ravioli was almost inedible...

Amazing old building. Unusual and fantastic display of art and various museum like displays. The double bed is not really double. It is two single beds pushed together. This is a general French and continental problem.

Fabulous hotel. Like staying in an art gallery. Might never go back - but will never forget the experience. If you can afford it do not hesitate. A million times better than the other so called five star establishments in Nice charging just as much or even more! No tea or coffee in the room. This might be a Brittish thing. Free bottled water on first night not repeated on next four! Why do some hotels think this is acceptable? Better if they didn't bother on the first night!

The history of the hotel (1913), a landmark in Nice. The list of amazing guests who had stayed there. The original art work and antiques. The restaurants. The size of rooms and bathrooms. The bar is beautiful and cozy. The employees friendly and professional. The electrical outlets were not up to par.

The "individuality" of the hotel - a real personal feeing about it. Different from all other hotels. Overcharged at check out for mini bar items not taken.

Location and the great valet service plus the historical aspect of the hotel. Terrible value for money in my opinion. We had a meal at their carousel restaurant which was 110 Euros for a bit of pasta, a small bottle of wine and two little plates with 3 lamb racks. Worst part, we found a large bit of plastic in our 3 year olds pasta (which he very nearly swallowed) and despite showing it to the restaurant and the concierge desk, we paid full price for the meal and received no apology. I love great food, this wasn't it - you can get better in any place in the neighbourhood. In addition, 30 Euros for a very standard hotel breakfast per person is ridiculous, walk 30 feet and find a great sit down bakery. You can do much better in Nice for the same price.

Location very good and spectacular public areas The room was terrible. Worn and stained carpet, stains on bathroom wall, chipped paint on doors, trim and baseboards, large dustballs in closet/armoire, television did not work and technician smelled so bad of cigarette smoke we had to open windows and then smelled all of the restaurant preparations. Bed was very uncomfortable and furnishings worn put. Overall definitely not 5 stars and one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. Choose Palais de la Mediterranee if you want a 5 star experience!

Excellent hotel. This is a real masterpiece. If you expect a pool or sauna then not for you (its not an ibis) fantastic rooms and staff and the lounge areas are outstanding. Right on the beach Breakfast is a bit pricey at 30e but there are plenty of nice places down the road. Not stop moanings from Russians with new money complaining. They dont seem to get the hotel at all or the decor
