Very professional & friendly hospitality people from arrival to departure in this Classic luxury hotel with excellent cuisine and magnificent ambience. Even off season a great experience. Special thanks to Javier for his attentive show around the house on arrival.
The hotel is really beautifully kept and the artworks are amazing. The furniture in my room and the décor were of the finest quality tasteful antiques and with the silk wallpaper, gold-clad griffin carvings and the baldachin over the bed I felt like a princess. The 4 fluffy pillows were very large and the bed very comfortable and new-feeling. The room and bathroom were clean
Stunning views from the 5th Floor bedroom. Gallery / Museum-like feel to the stairways and landings
Extremely good hotel
- they have good deals in autumn; - 2 Michelin stars restaurant inside; - museum atmosphere; - great location.
- ventilation (our neighbor was smoking in his room and we felt it) must be because we stated in a not renovated room; - poor sound isolation; - old doors, so had problems with properly closing a bathroom door; - a small (narrow) shower.
The location is excellent right in the centre of the promenade. The staff were friendly and attentive. We were given an upgrade when checking in and had a superb view out to sea. The hotel is a bit like 'Hotel Budapest' , a bit eccentric with an interesting history. Our room decor was a little dated but others along the landing were in the progress of being refurbished which would suggest ours will be soon.We will be visiting Nice again and I will stay Le Negresco again.
Breakfast not really worth the money
Quirky art and unusual public rooms. Excellent buffet breakfast, upgrade to sea view room, very good staff.
Renovation work a bit noisy at 5pm, turndown service too early at 6pm. A bit mean with toiletries and providing water in room, extra charge for eggs at breakfast.
Artwork is unique and impressive. Wonderful, historic hotel.
WiFi signal was weak in room and part of lobby. Construction going on in hallway.
the hotel Le Negresco is simply different from all the others. The pieces of art scattered around create an incredibile atmosphere in the hotel that is a pleasure to see. If you are frequent traveller I suggest you to stay in this hotel at least once in your life.
I felt that the bar was unattractive and not pricely correctly considering all the other bars/restaurants that you can find outside the hotel.
This hotel is very dated & in much need of repair/renovation. It is NOT a 5 star property in any sense of the word! Absolutely NOT! Let me start with the filthy lift . . . it was nasty! The carpet had not been cleaned in a very long time. It was not "1 day dirty", it was ground in dirty & smelled! I know another main larger lift was out of commission, but this was still a lift used by guests, being closer to some rooms. It definitely was not a service lift. Disgusting! We were upgraded to a suite which was not necessarily a good thing. The tiny outdated television was in the living room section so not visible from the bed. The problem with that was the furniture in the living room was ancient & most uncomfortable. Straight back chairs & sofa that you would never choose for relaxing. Bed was comfortable, but the bathroom was ancient. Pink & green tiles that they boasted with a plaque were from the 1970's when they were the hot colours in French Haute Couture, were chipped, broken & faded! The pink bathtub, toilet & bidet were faded & horrible. Toilet had to be fiddled with to be flushed. A tiny shower you could not turn around in had been added at some stage, but was also in need of repair & looked less than inviting. I even had to call down for a shower cap! No amenities were provided except for a bar of soap & bottle of shampoo.
Friendliness, comfort, space. It was like being in a cross between an art gallery & a museum.Staff couldn't have been more helpful.Awareness to detail.
No TV for 48 hours. I know. I could have changed rooms, but ours was so well positioned & had a lovely view.
The whole building.
The lack of bath towels when we arrived, then when we returned in the evening all the towels had been removed. Obviously they brought us some, but the face towels and bath mats were still missing.
Wonderful art, delicious breakfast, friendly service
Dinner in La Rotonde lacked atmosphere and the food was average.
Everything. Beautiful hotel with empressive artwork that mkes you want to keep climbing the stairs to see what is on the next floor. Food is fantastic and staff are friendly and accommodating to the point where I think if you asked one to kill for you, they would.
Nothing to dis-like
Many thanks to the hotel staff for making our anniversary celebration memorable. Everything was just excellent, the staff very polite and friendly and the hotel itself was like a museum; a ver good one. We shall definitely make all the effort to celebrate following anniversaries at the Negresco
The hotel is an absolute masterpiece, there is something to see on every floor, the staff is really friendly and helpful. You receive a free drink if your room isn't ready when you come for the check-in. The room was spacious and with a great sea-view, the bathroom is huge, there are really beautiful vintage touches everywhere that make your stay a great experience.
Really, really faulty wi-fi connection It could use some refurbishing here and there.
Fantastic location. Beautifully preserved excellent accommodation
Rather poor amenities for such a great place: only shampoo and shower gel. No conditioner, no vanity kit, shaving kit. And why do they have a big notice in the bathroom that towels and floor mats are 20 euros each? They have a history of guests stealing floor mats?
Fabulous decor and art. Hugely comfortable bed and great view out of bedroom window. All just perfect and what we needed.
Have no idea!!
This place was great if you like the historic value of the hotel and a place with a great view!
The high price is for the history and the view. Nothing much else.
The art work
No swimming pool or leisure complex
Dusty carpets No view
