Water pressure for shower was great. Clean rooms.
Very loud outside. Tiny rooms. No control of heat. Difficulty getting bags to the room.
It was so central, staff helpful and very friendly, I really enjoyed my stay.
I liked the helpful way Ben assisted..
close to Gare du Nord
Booked with New Hotel Gare du Nord room in Hotel Richmond - round the corner. Room so small, that double bed was pushed against wall not allowing access other than climb/crawl - for which we are both too old! Breakfast served in claustrophobic cellar
It was very close to the metro and rer station of Gare du Nord, so it was very convinient. The breakfast hall was very nice and the breakfast was generally ok.
I arrived at 23:00. The bed covers were dirty and torn. I asked for the covers to be changed but they told me "it was not their job to change them" so I overlayed a clean sheet on the dirty part of the existing one. My covers were never changed (I stayed 4 nights). The stuff was not helpful regarding this problem.
The fact that the hotel is across from the Gare du Nord station.
Double room booked but you couldn't swing a cat. It also said en suite bathroom, not so, shower so small, toilet separate in another part of the room, also small, definitely not double room standard. One window in the room which looked out onto the back windows of people's rooms. Surprisingly this room we were given is advertised on the web site as a superior single room!! Paid £155 for 2 nights and breakfast was additional £7.50 per person (very poor) eaten in the cellar where you couldn't move around for lack of space. Definitely not recommending to anyone!
Location and helpful receptionist with directions etc. good value for an overnight stay passing through Paris. For a budget room good that it had a safe.
I had made changed from 3 nights to 2 nights and received email confirmation and said its sorted out without extra charge. When I checked out, they said they didn't confirm this change and requested me to pay 3 nights. After negotiation and argument, Imanged to pay 2 as I only stayed for 2 nights. The staff is not friendly or professional in handling this issue. The room is extremely small, apart from local next to the central station. Not recommended this hotel at all. Not worth the price.
We contact them 5 days before, in order to report our staddy due to our children, report for the next week if possible, they refused categorically, no excuses, I never had such disregables people like them. I never take they again, and we had to pay our weekend, ewen if we didn't stay there. This is Hotel Gare du Nord
Great value for money hotel in quirky Haussmann RIGHT across the road from Gare du Nord. We stayed one night before Eurostar. Very friendly and helpful staff. Interesting and atmospheric area- not as dodgy as reviews suggested. Clean and reasonably quiet. Comfy beds. Spacious for price. Better than we expected. Lots of places to eat around it. Recommend.
The ONLY negatives were in the bathroom. No screen on shower over bath so it got a wet floor and not clean around the window despite good cleanliness elsewhere. Many more negs in hotels costing more.
Location in front of Gare du Nord
Room and its exorbitant cost! Wifi had to struggle to reach/have connection: only 30 minutes from the room out of 3 nights spent there. A real nightmare!
location friendly staff
Clean, comfortable room, good bathroom, beautiful views of Gard du Nord, and no train noise. Reasonably convenient location. Very, very convenient if travelling on the Eurostar. Very helpful staff.
The first few days of our 6 night stay, the WiFi was terrible. We wasted a lot of time trying to connect. Explanations from staff did not make sense. Miraculously improved, although not perfect, about half way through our stay.
Location is seconds from gare du Nord
Receptionnist wasnt the most welcoming of types but this may be due to his long day ending. Not clean :/
Just across the road from the Gare du Nord, this hotel is very convenient for Eurostar travellers. Staff are polite and helpful, and willingly look after baggage if necessary. I arrived early (11 am) and the receptionist adjusted room allocations so I could have a room that was ready straight away. An adequate breakfast is served in the cellar dining room.
The staff are very friendly and accommodating.
Need for improvement on the wifi because husband have to give up trying to log in. But on average it was pretty good.
The staff where wonderful, the breakfast exceptionally filing and great choice. would recommend and use again
- good connections (specially train) - good breakfast - good TV program inclusive Canal + - Clean
- small room - no enough place to put a suitcase - the non-eco way of changing towels every day - the wall are not very sound proof - the surrounding area is very crowdy
The position: rer and many subway lines really near to the hotel!
Excellent location. I arrived via Eurostar and hotel is directly opposite gare du nord station. Excellent for metro and bus links. Staff were helpful and friendly. Would definitely return.
lift was small and stopped at between floors so had to carry suitcases either up or down half a flight on a spiral staircase. no landing where lift stopped (straight onto stairs)
Great location. Across the street from Gare du Nord train station. Metro, RER (to CDG), TGV all leave from there. Clean and comfortable. Typical European (Parisian) room. Small but comfortable room. Comfy bed, clean bathroom and a small balcony you stand outside on. Elevator hotel and next to several cafe's and a Carrefour supermarket. For Americans who cant live without.. there is a McDonnald's a block and a half away! Staff knowledgeable and friendly and fluent in english.
Not a lot of closet space but that is typical in a small hotel. Wifi worked but had to reconnect several times for some reason. Other than that, would stay there again.
Location was good for us we travelled by Metro or walked to most locations. Room clean bathroom spotless. We got in very late one night after attending a cabaret at Lapine Agile and were greeted pleasantly by the Manager's son.The manager checked us in early when we arrived and allowed us to leave our bags with him after we checked out. That allowed us freedom without worry. of what to do with our bags, before taking an evening train. The manager and his son were helpfull and friendly! We all agreed we would return there.
Would have liked shower curtain arround bathtub.Athough many people like baths we would have liked showers and the shower was there but no curtain. Construction @ 5am on Tuesday, 16Sep14, was a bit too noisy.
We came from London in the evening and hired a car next morning in the Gare du Nord, so for one night it was good.
great service and great breakfast
