Mercure Nice Marché Aux Fleurs  

Het enige, wat ons erg goed beviel, was de locatie, vlak om de hoek vande marché aux fleurs en aan de boulevard. Dit was de reden om dit hotel te boeken, niettegenstaande de hoge kamerprijs. Het comfort van zo'n superiorkamer viel echter tegen, zie onderstaande opmerkingen.

Wat tegenviel, was, dat het interieur niet volgens de plaatjes was, je kon aan de hand daarvan verwachten, dat er een apart zithoekje was. De eerste kamer, die we kregen, had slechts een enkele stoel en een tabouret. Kamer was klein voor een superiorkamer, zeker voor die prijs, met tralies voor de ramen. Tweede kamer was wel groter met twee stoeltjes, maar geen tafeltje, alleen een bureautje.Lag aan een smal straatje, kon de lucht bijna niet zien, zonder zon en koud. Verwarming deed het niet. Gelukkig waren er badjassen, die hebben we over ons heen gelegd s'nachts. Het prijzige (continentale) ontbijt hebben we niet genomen, fijn was wel, dat we koffie en thee op de kamer konden zetten. Het idee, dat we koffie en een croisantje op het terras van het hotel aan de boulevard konden nemen, ging niet door, er was niets van een terras. Dat hadden we achteraf wel kunnen checken met Google streetview, enfin weer wat geleerd. Dit was wel het duurste hotel, dat we ooit via jullie geboekt hebben, maar niet het beste. Bovendien zag ik op de website van Mercure later, dat ik goedkoper uit zou zijn geweest. Jammer. Verder ben ik wel tevreden over jullie.

De ligging is uitstekend voor wie de oude stad en de zeelijn wil aandoen. Ondanks de graafwerken in het belendende straatje was het een vrij rustige kamer. Het personeel was erg vriendleijk, er heerst een familiale gemoedelijkheid. Wifi is eindelijk gratis in Mercure. Fijne geste om een openbaar vervoer dagticket mee te geven.

Het hotel heeft vier sterren, maar die kunnen enkel te danken zijn aan de ligging. Het lijdt duidelijk aan vergane glorie, de kamers zijn bijzonder krap bemeten, en oubollig (de badkamer is de uitzondering). Het ontbijt was erg eentonig, in een ongezellige kelderverdieping. De gangen dragen teveel alle geluid. Rokers worden gewoon op het trottoir gezet. Parkeermogelijkheden in de buurt zijn, behalve schandalig duur, bijzonder prekair. Wegwerkzaamheden in Nice vereenvoudigen de toestand niet.

zeer goed - kamers waren prima evenals de badkamers - volgende maal NICE opnieuw zelfde hotel .

Bar is misschien te beperkt . Parking ontbreekt !!!

Not a lot !

Websit needs to be 'exact' in describing superior rooms if the room does not have a sea view. If 'not' a sea view list the additional cost for a sea view.+ €39.00 Room €151 + Sea view (rooms are very small) € 38eurs = €189.00 not good value...Then additional Tax is added ! ! Facilities are not good, no lift, eating area poor. For an extra €10.00 I could have stayed in a PROPER 4 Star Hotel Clive Saunders

A little small but the location was outstanding... Walking distance to everything, including the beach right across the street.

Room was a bit small... But, for the price and location all you really need is a bed, everything you want and need is outside,

The loation is perfect.

The big downside which is not reflected in my replies above is that I had specifically asked for a room with a sea view & the receptionist told that she had no track of this in my reservation. And it was too late, all rooms with sea view had been taken out. Quite frustrating! This seems to be a real booking.com issue

Very disappointed to get small dark corner room with no outlook.Thought that all of the rooms beside ours must be the same-very surprised to see 2 neighbouring rooms much bigger and brighter-like a different hotel! We asked to pay to upgrade to a lighter room but were told none available -When we looked on intrrnet there were rooms available! Only plus side was a good location Disappointing

The hotel is lovely and charming. Great location, great staff. All requests were met to fullest expectations.

Small refrigerator would be great. Would help save on meals and allow for more time to relax in the lovely rooms.

Our aim was to visit Nice Carnival. The hotel in fact offers you free access for day show, and it is in few steps from night show and public beach, as it faces sea. Also they offered 1-day pass for public transport. Personnel is very nice and helpful. Breakfast room is very good located and decorated and mainly breakfast is Ok. Also room we got has good bath, not shower. And the bathroom is spacious, clean and good-designed. WiFi is offered for free, though there is some strange message about 6 hours resrtiction with kind of registration (but you may use arbitrary data, and the restriction didn't apply, seems to be for single session).

There were just 2 not so good things. First is the room we got is small so if you have excessive weight you may just not walk between wall and bed. The same is for lack of space to sit together nearby - only 1 chair is available and small writing table. And second - when we got to breakfast in Sunday about 9am, there were no sausages and other fried food available.

Too small room for this price.

We had a problem with a train reservation for the next day and the receptionist was exceptionally kinde and helpful in trying to resolve the issue. The rest of the staff was helpful as well in giving us information about the city. The location was excellent as well.

Location excellent in respect of beach, market, old town, restaurants and shopping. Public parking quite close by. Coffee/tea facilities in the room.Two television sets, with adequate channels.

No lift and the room's bed on mezzanine floor, accessible via narrow staircase,not convenient for mature couple like us.Aircon effective, but a bit noisy.
