The welcome was warm, you felt part of the family. The food was traditional but very good, with the seafood being exceptionally good. The room was clean and comfortable and the hotel was in a central location near to Fougeres and Mont St Michel. |

It was in a good location for visiting the Mont St Michel and the Normandy/Brittany coastline Not having a toilet in the bedroom. Towels were rather rough and old. |

I was nervous about the low cost, but the reviews seemed very positive. I agree ... it was a very nice hotel for the price. Not extremely fancy, but very pleasant. The restaurant downstairs was quite nice as well, and very affordable. |

A very dated hotel that certainly had a lot of charm. A bit like staying with your granny, lots of frills and flowery wallpaper! Staff were polite but not over friendly. St James is a typical sleepy French village and choices of places to eat were limited. Ate one night at the hotel and was not overly impressed, but was reasonably priced. Location was good with a big free car park behind the hotel. Our room decor was fussy and desperately needed updating, all furnishings were past their best but the room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and would use this hotel again. Dated feel and overall very tatty. Hotel entrance at the rear is very uninviting. Could really do with some TLC. Restaurant food could have been better, but was OK. |

The owners were very friendly and helpful. Although we had no time to spend in St James, it seemed a very charming, french town - and worth a longer stay. The hotel was very good value. |

Its position in a small and romantic village and the short distance to other places to visit (Mont-Saint-Michel, Saint Malo etc.). I dislaked having no toilet in the room. |
