Location hot water sufficient heating close to the Louvre good restaurants nearby close to double decker on-of sightseeing bus stop One of the concierge was a little abrupt in his mannerism. Tv in awkward position to watch from the bed (room 305) Luggage rack not big enough for a large suitcase. Not exactly budget friendly - basic room for the amount paid.

- The location of the hotel. - The size of the room. - The fact that the staff offered a 90EUR discount on our night's stay after we were going to pursue a full refund and have to book somewhere else due to lack of facilities and mis-leading pictures and advertising. Hotel feedback: - Pictures of the privelege room on Booking.com was nothing like what we actually got, room was big but very basic beds & linen. - Bedroom facilities were described on the website as 'modern' when in actual fact the room seemed like it hadn't been updated for at least 30 years e.g. the old fashioned wall-mounted hair-dryer in the bathroom meant that my wife wasn't able to wash and blow dry her hair. - WiFi did not reach to the room and there was a shortage of anywhere else to reside and use the internet to assist with our trip. - Hotel was advertised as having a piano but this was out of tune and the hotel never employee a pianist so it is in fact just for ornamental purposes. The piano was one of the key aspects which led us to book this hotel. - The bar was closed on the day/night of our stay due to a business conference and the explanation for this was simply that we were 'unlucky'. The Scottish style bar was one of the key aspects which led us to book this hotel. - No drinks in the mini-bar and so had to order room service which took 40 minutes to arrive. We were told this was normal. A small empty fridge is not the same as a mini-bar. - We are a married couple and were given two single beds. The hotel offered to convert these into one but took a very long time doing so. During our wait, the hotel were unable to provide a cup of tea or coffee because the bar was closed - and this was on a Saturday afternoon.. - Staff took no responsibility for any problems and seemed incapable of acting on behalf of the hotel. All of our comments were taken as a personal attack against the staff when in fact we were only commenting about the hotel, not the staff personally. We received responses like 'it's not my fault that...' and 'it wasn't my decision to close the bar...' and 'I didn't put those pictures on the website...' PARIS in general: - Approx.

The location of hotel. Wifi doesn't work in the room, but only in reception. In the bathroom there wasn't the phone. The bathroom has only shower gel and no other things. It was not comfortable to have shower, because there was not hook where you can hang the shower. Besides, when I used the water from the sink was all inside.

Location was central 6th floor in desperate need to redecoration and refurbishment. No wifi access in 614. Fortunately I was out for dinner and only staying one night otherwise this would have had to be addressed. Expensive for what you get - even for Paris standards.

As you can partly see from my account with you, I travel widely for my business (3- 4 times each month) and often use Booking.com. If you seriously rate this hotel as 4-Star, then you can't possibly have checked it out, and this will certainly taint my reliance on your website and acceptance of your advice in future. This has to be the filthiest, tackiest, tattiest, most run down and slovenly kept "4-Star" hotel in Paris. Arriving weary at midnight from the last Eurostar out of London, the threadbare carpets and grimy alcoves of the reception area give warning that there are no stars here. An amiable but world record-breakingly slow check-in man, who had to be summoned from behind a hastily-erected hard-board screen, sheltering him from all enquirers (what is he doing behind there? poring over magazines? watching a dvd? sleeping? worse?) was not at all surprised when a visit to my booked room prompted me to immediately check out again. I then took my suitcases for a nocturnal walk around the 1st and 2nd arrondissements until I luckily found a Best Western (always reliable) with a spare room.

The location was the only positive aspect. Service was extremely poor. The staff were particularly unhelpful and unfriendly. I have stayed in the Brighton and Westin previously, and for a similarly priced hotel Brighton have set the standard and the Normandy hotel is nowhere near that. Additionally, the furnishings are outdated for the expected standard.

Unfortunately, besides the location, there was really nothing redeeming about the hotel. No charm, no class, and a bad experience. Upon arriving, the staff was curt and rude with other foreigners trying hard to see when their hotel room would be ready. Every initial impression gave me a pit in my stomach, from the run down reception, to the unpleasant help. After receiving my hotel key, and 5 floors later, I was so disappointed when opening my room's door. It was terrible. It reeked, was shabby, and felt like a hostel dorm room, but not nearly as well furnished. The bathroom made me crawl. All the other reviews about disrepair are spot on. It's not that the building is old, it's that it has been terribly tended to. I don't understand how this hotel is rated 4 stars (2 stars at best). Even by European standards.
