Warm family feel from the welcome. Room and bathroom clean and spacious, bed comfy, Canal+ plus other usual TV channels. Free Wifi. Lovely area with antique shops in the day and near the Jardin Public. Lively cafe culture in the evening with quaint looking restaurants. If you are looking for something slightly out of the tourist parts of Bordeaux, I would recommend this hotel.
I was on the ground floor and the window opened onto a passage way so I didn't feel comfortable opening the window. I stayed on a Thursday evening so there wasn't many people walking up and down the passage way.
Nice clean hotel, simple but everything you need. Right in the heart of the historic Chartrons quarter but quiet at night. Decent breakfast for a reasonable price and helpful, friendly staff.
Good position. Some staff more helpful than others.
Rooms variable. Stayed twice, first room nice overlooking Notre Dame, second room small and on third floor overlooking backs of buildings and rooves.
Great location - about 10 / 15 mins walk from the centre, and near the river. Nice, reasonably quiet street. Overall, a nice hotel to stay in.
Yep, they still haven't sorted their wifi out.
The location was close to a square that contained restaurants and bars - very local and only a few tourists. The Hotel was approximately a ten minute walk from the centre - very convenient.
The breakfast at 8 euros was not value for money. They did have a toaster but no sliced bread to go in it ! Very little was offered for breakfast - no real effort was made.
nice staff, location
Friendly staff, great location and comfortable rooms.
Parking was very expensive and far away from the hotel.
Fantastic location, lovely building
Wifi didn't work at all, even in the lobby. Check-out was slightly earlier than advertised, advertised free toiletries were minimal.
The location, the staff and how comfortable the beds were.
The breakfast was not only an extra cost but not particularly good value for money - 8 euro each for coffee plus one croissant and a hard bread roll adds up to 48 euro for two people over a three night stay.
very clean and located in a nice district close to town center
Wi-fi was not working continously; breakfast could have been better for its price
Location, staff were friendly. Close to some good restaurants.
Wifi was not working while we were there. No big deal tho.
Great hotel. Friendly staff and nice rooms (large for the price, comfy beds, quiet). This hotel is located in the perfect area - Bordeaux's poshest District with nice café s and a couple of nice bars, and a leisurely 10 min stroll to the centre of town.
Great location, clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for a long weekend stay.
WiFi was not working the first 2 days
It's pretty close by to the centre, about 15 min walk to Place de la Bouche. They have cafes just right outside the hotel, and also laundry place about 5 mins walk from the hotel. So that has been helpful. I travelled alone, the area is pretty safe even at night. :) The Notre Dame church is just like right outside of the hotel. I didnt take the breakfast, so i could not comment on it, but im sure it is decent. The hotel is clean, the room was clean, bed was comfy, and yes, the ceiling is pretty low, but that is fine for me, but taller ppl might have a little of issue.
So, when i arrived at the hotel at 2pm, there was not anyone in the counter, even though they said check in time starts at 2pm. So that was a bit inconvenient! but that is the only thing i dont like about that place. So, better call before u check in.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. The location was perfect. It was quiet and restful after a long journey.
The rooms were small and there was no lift.
Quite a charming building. A pleasant location in the "village" feel to the area.
Breakfast could have been improved, but adequate.
Nice weekend market nearby, clean rooms, helpful staff, convenient public parking nearby (albeit at an expansive rate). It's a bit of a walk to the old town centre but with a range of excellent restaurants in the area it was perfect for us.
1. Very small room 2. Long walk to city centre 3. Parking some distance away and very expensive 4. Noisy at night - night club near 5. No lifts and narrow staircase made taking luggage to roo difficult WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL
Quiet for a good nights sleep, staff was very helpfull whenever I inquired about anything like where to eat.Young lady there when I signed in even carried my big suitcase up the stairs. Easy walking distance to city centre and restaurants.
Lack of an elevator could be a problem for some, though I was ok. Just lack of parking spaces in France in general, and costing 19 Euro per day. It's the way it is.
1. Nice room in the hotel. 2. Hotel is good situated in the city. Nearby to tramlines. Nearby the boulevard.
At the overside is a neighbour that almost every night used to play his music very loud.
No kettle in room.
Friendly, clean, inexpensive hotel at the heart of the Quartier des Chartrons.
