Escale Oceania Aix-en-Provence offers an outdoor pool with a furnished terrace and a fitness center. This hotel is one mile from Aix-en-Provence and its train station.
Score from 860 reviews Very good
Ideally on a peaceful street in the center of Aix-en-Provence, this residence is a 10-minute walk from the cafés and fountains on Cours Mirabeau. Gare d’Aix-en-Provence is half a mile away.

The Novotel Aix-en-Provence is a 5-minute drive from the historic center of Aix-en-Provence and 15 minutes from the TGV train station. A bus stop outside the hotel goes to the center of town.

size of the room
froma liesure standpoint, the locatin is out of the amin centre which was a disadvantage. If this were a business trip, this location would be good.
We all loved the pool, and the fact that extra towels were provided. Boules available, and table tennis and small garden for younger children. Menu and food was good and, although on first look seemed pricey, the fact that the children's meals were available to our teenagers and were absolutely Adult sized portions, saved us a fair few Euro's! As a tip for saving money on Breakfast, there is a little cafe at the end of the road, and turn right, about a five minute walk, and it is a third of the price, for the obligatory Coffee, Croissant and juice.
We were disappointed with the size of the family room. We had booked the ''superior room with one double bed and two single beds''. However, it was still a room with one double bed and a sofa bed that converted into two single beds. The view over the pool was good though! A bit out of town, although the number 8 bus was frequent and cheap.
Friendly, comfortable, convenient, child-friendly. Ideal for 1-2 nights.
The carpets really have to go, they are disgusting. Generally the place needs a proper renovation not just the superficial makeover.
Easy to find and with immediate access to the motorway.
Not enough lifts. You have to walk along corridors which are long not ideal with baggage, also having the shower inside the bath isn't very easy for people of a certain age to get in and out of.
The staff were caring and nothing was too much trouble to make our stay perfect. Room was large, comfortable and clean. Meals were enjoyable and good value for money. We'd certainly return here.
There were no negative points at all.
Old hotel but very comfortable. From the windows lots of trees. Good breakfast.
Air conditioning and lifts didn't work Near highway, noisy with windows open, but silent when closed. Staff in the breakfast didn't speak English
- good, safe and free parking with lots of available space - very good Wi-Fi - free and easy to connect - toillet is seprated from the bathroom - 24 hour check-in
- room with double bed and 2 single beds incl. double bed and 2 single mattresses - although staff was quite polite and willing to help, they first gave us double room (there were 3 of us) - breakfast is quite expensive
Christian the manager, Marco at the bar and Christel at breakfast.,
They are very kind. I'd gotten some personal problem, and they helped me.
Resort like feel. Very polite, funny and helpful front desk (Christian). Free parking plus convenient bus service to city centre
Lift was charmingly tiny.
location the room
- the bed was very unconfertable, was a day bed -poor equipment, they did not have even an umbrella to lend....
-Room was untidy -when the sofa bed is open the room is cramped -breakfast menu poor
rooms were good and decor pleasing.
Food in the restaurant was expensive and not very good quality.
Outside areas - gardens and pool.
Poor staff and not enough of them. Never anyone on the bar and always a long wait to get a barman. Wifi impossible to access easily. Expensive restaurant with poor quality food.
Good family facilities for a business hotel, secure pool and childrens play area. Good restaurant and bar and the rooms are a good size. Bus is only €1 into town and number 8 bus goes direct from near hotel to the main station (not the TGV). Check out the nearby pizzeria and bakery for nice food.
Too far out of the centre to be considered a city centre hotel. Bar and restaurant quite expensive but there are few options in the surrounding area.
The reception staff ; cleaning staff and waitress at dinner were all polite, professional and very helpful. They made us feel very welcome. The room was clean, comfortable and well ventillated.
The bar, on the only evening we used it was not manned and after several minutes when 3 customers were waiting I had to go to the restaurant to get their attention. The response was a flippant remark. This barman is letting down his colleagues.
Very nice hotel at a good price. Very secure.
We are fairly un-demanding customers so found our experience of the hotel all that we could have hoped for.
Everything good. Great deal and excellent breakfast.
Only suggest take your breakfast early, otherwise may run out of some itens.
