Friendly staff, perhaps a little more English needs to addressed re menus etc But not enough to stop anyone staying!

Location and the price

The room was not very clean, but just the carpet.

It was an overnight on the way to Switzerland. The hotel is a little way out of the town centre but the restaurant was excellent. The room was basic, as one would expect from a Logis, but it was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Recommended.

Nothing extraordinary about this hotel, but no complaints.

We were only there for one night but were not inspired.

The poor directions were unacceptable especially as the autoroute exit recommendation had been permanently closed in one direction ie from Calais and Paris which should have been known. This cost time and money and sadly the receptionist seemed indifferent to our complaint. There were further problems as the road in which the hotel was said to be situated was also closed The room was cramped and the dim lights and switches in the corridor were likely to prove dangerous for the less nimble. We reported a malfunctiong bedside light but nothing was done about it and the lights in the ceiling had a mind of their own. All in all not to be recommended

A little out of town, our choice, but no problems to get into town with ample parking when you get there and very inexpensive. Rooms were very good for a budget hotel, and restraunt on site with a quite good menu. The sight seeing of the war graves and forts,also the museums and the history of the first world war are just a short drive from the hotel which is perfectly placed for this. The staff of the hotel were friendly very helpful and provided maps of the area and city, we dined twice in the restuarant and had excellent meals. Would stay here again

The location for the battlefields was great, restaurant and staff were very good.

The bed was very creaky, decoration needed updating, dark corridors.

The staff were great, helpful, speaking French for my pleasure and English when I couldn't remember. The restaurant and the breakfast dining room were beautifully furnished, a prelude to a good choice of lovely, tasty, local food. My omelette meusienne was superb and so was the 4 course menu de jour at 20euros. Plenty of good company eating together, many nationalities and a good atmosphere. Excellent parking. Lots of outdoor sporty activities available including a swimming pool.

Not easy to find, there is signage in the town but difficult to spot for right hand drivers. I dont have a Sat nav and use real maps so a larger couple of signs very close to the hotel woud have helped me to know that "I had found it." The rooms are basic, mattress a bit thin, I would not like to stay there in the full heat of summer. I think that the cost of a room was on the high side considering the basic level of it.

The food in the restaurant was very good. Also appreciated the real flowers on the tables.

Staff was helpful with sightseeing ideas. Breakfast buffet was good for France.

Room was small and well-worn. Bathroom and shower were tiny.

This hotel was clean and comfortable and very convieniently placed for visiting the Verdun first world war memorials

As a 3* hotel I would have expected to find tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms there were none, which was disappointing. another mirror as well as the bathroom mirror would have been useful. Breakfast was a bit of a bunfight for self booked guests whereas tables were laid up for coach groups/parties. Whilst we were there, one such group left at 2am in the morning, resulting in people galumping through the corridors with no regard for other residents who were trying to sleep.

The only thing i liked about Les Orchidees was the realy comfortable bead.

The location,the staff breakfast to late before the drive back to Calais.

We booked at the last minute so availability was about the only positive thing

Quality of accomodation was very poor

Although the room was basic it was clean and well appointed. The on-site restaurant was excellent with a comprehensive menu and superbly cooked food. Our groups view was it was worth travelling to the hotel just to eat at the restaurant.

Convenient and quiet as we were passing thru Verdun

The staff were friendly and helpful, allowing us to order from the restaurant and eat in our rooms as our 9 month old son needed to sleep, and wouldn't do so in the restaurant.

The room was very cramped for 2 adults and a baby in a baby cot plus all our luggage. In hindsight we should have selected the triple room as originally suggested by booking.com.

Poor quality bed, tiny rooms and dirty pool

Staff and owners very helpful and friendly. Even gave us a lift to town and back for night out.

The communal areas were all very nice.

The bedrooms badly need modernising and enlarging.

Nice quiet location a few minutes from Verdun. Good food in restaurant.

Decor rather retro but fresh. Typical French breakfast quality & choice way behind Germany/Holland.

It was just ok. The room furnishings were old. Breakfast was fair. A fan in the room would have been nice as it was hot in the room.
