Hotel Cambrai is located a 5 minute walk from Gare du Nord Train station and 15 minutes from the Basilique du Sacré-Cœur.
Score from 631 reviews Good
This hotel is conveniently placed near Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est train stations. All the soundproofed rooms were refurbished in 2007, and some boast a view of the Eiffel Tower.

Close to the Gare Nord and Est stations and the Metro.
Not a particularly nice area of town.
all hotel personels great, friendly, thank you hotel nord. see you again :)) Ayten Baran Turkey / istanbul
Very good location Price = location = comfort are very good. Good wifi.
Last day reception lady had a ver very bad day, remind me typical "french hospitality". Before her, previous staff where very nice.
Close to train station, got it for an OK price.
Ugly wood panelled decor. Room facing noisy street.
- Clean room - Near Metro Station - Near du Gare du Nord and Gare de l´Est, which means perfect connection of all public transports in Paris
- no parking options / public stations expensive
Location, near from gare du nord. you do not need to get a taxi if you come with big suitcases because you can come with the rer B from the airport and walk to the hotel from gare du nord
When we arrived we found the bed was broken and there was a burned out bulb in the room. We talked with the staff buy they told us tha we had to wait for the following day. They fixed the problem the following day
The shower was abundant and there was plenty of hot water that drained properly. The bed was firm and comfortable. The wifi worked very well. The room was scrupulously clean and we were allowed into our room far ahead of schedule. The location was excellent if you wanted to be in the Gare du Est Gare du Nord area. The wake up call was perfect. The breakfast room was drab but the croissans, bread and coffee were fine. The room was very quiet. We may have been lucky as far as our neighbors but the street is not much used so the street noise was not annoying.
The room had only one plug and the lighting was minimally adequate. There was one chair and tiny desk which meant that the second person needed to read and work sitting up in the bed. The space between the bed and the walls was the minimum possible. This would not have been adequate for anyone who was very tall or fat.
Very near ground transportation, and restaurants.
Noise from train stations, and nightclubs etc.
Friendly staff, near the Gare du Nord. Quite inexpensive for Paris (which of course, doesn't really qualify as "cheap". We took bicycles there on Eurostar from London and this (nothing to do with the hotel I know) I can highly recommend.
Closeness to Gare du Nord WiFi
lift, surroundings; service - my room was not cleaned one day. expensive
Clean room and bathroom. Good coffee at breakfast!
No wifi second day and night. No apology for this from indifferent staff. Terrible noise from shouting drunk young men at night standing outside the two bars in the street below. Sleep impossible!
I only liked the location that was close enough to Gare du Nord. It is 2 minutes away and by walking. The Staff are nice (except for an old man who was so rude) The room was not very small. It was convenient.
The breakfast was so poor compared to IBIS hotel that is also a 2-star hotel. In my room, i can hear clearly the sound of the elevator's engine that was so noisy especially that my room was at the highest floor and next to the elevator. The hotel is still using the old Key system so it was not convenient at all when my roommate and I had different plans for the evening. The Wifi is only working well at the Lobby. It was impossible to use it at the 6th floor.
The hotel is located just a couple of minutes' walk from Gare du Nord so is perfect for those who need to be close to that station. It is clean and well-maintained, and while the rooms are very small they are perfectly adequate for those who just need a base in the city and are going to spend most of their time away from the hotel. The WiFi worked well throughout the hotel at all times. I didn't have breakfast in the hotel so can't comment on that, I visited a nearby bakery each morning instead. The bathroom appeared to have been recently-installed and the shower was approximately twice the size of the shower I had in another (more expensive) Paris hotel last year. The hotel was generally quiet although the walls are a bit thin and there was some commotion on the Saturday night when a rowdy group came back from a night out.
My room looked out onto an internal courtyard so there was no view to speak of, however that did mean that there was no street noise.
Location close to Gare du Nord was very good. The area is noisy but the soundproofing of the room meant it was no problem. Bathroom was small but clean and modern.
Lack of air con a problem in summer as the window has to be kept closed to keep the street noise out.
Good location Good staff members
Bar in front of the hotel have too much croudy and noisy till late night Break fast was not good that is why took break fast for only one day.
location , cleanliness, near by to Indian Restuarant,
small rooms, poor wifi
Location was not safe, there were weird people around the area. Very unsafe! We checked out the next day! Rooms were very small and no place to move around. Elevator could accommodate only one big bag. And wi if never worked.
It was great to arrive on the Eurostar, and just stroll over to our hotel. Staff were friendly and on hand for any questions we had. Rooms were compact but very clean, as were the bathrooms. the communal areas also kept clean- breakfast was sufficient and good value for it`s cost. Free Wi-fi available throughout hotel was useful, and the side street it was on was quiet compared to the main Rue de Layfayette. Has a left luggage option at no charge after you check out of your room- very useful!
There was little on offer in terms of a tour booking desk, though that didn`t bother us as we already knew what we wanted. The reception is manned 24hrs though you may have to wait a moment to be let in if you are coming back late as the night staff do move away from the from desk. No room safes but they will lock up any valuables for you.
If you're coming by the Eurostar train and looking for a close budget hotel - this is a good choice. And becuase Gare de Nord is a main tranportation station you have many metros and RER trains to choose from to start and end your day.
The population in the area is not the most pleasent Paris has to offer. It's not dangerous or anything but many imigrants and lower-class citizens live in this area. Just beware of your belongings and you'll be fine.
If you are ONLY looking for a place to stay near main station, that's the place. Really close to Gare du Nord to come and leave.
However, my only 2 nights was terrible. No facilities in the room (air con) very hot to sleep and with window open, so much noise, hairdryer full with dust. Wii fii in the bedroom don't work. The pillow looks like a roll of coins, I woke up with such pain in my neck. After so many reviews saying similar things and hotel do nothing to change, well..I do not recommend to anyone..
Close to Gare du Nord, plenty of Bars & Restaurants around the area. Easy to access most of Sightseeing in Paris
No wifi in the room
Close to Gare du Nord. Value for money
rooms are a bit torn down and the bathroom has dirty angles
We stayed for 2 nights, in the first day the room was extreemly clean and the wifi network was excellent. On the second day (it was after one week) we found a lot of hair on the floor of the bathroom and the wifi connection was bad in our room. We were oblige to go out in order to get an excellent connection.
The rooms are not soundproof
It is near the main railway terminal and the buses I was a solo traveller using Paris' transport system therefore being close to a railway station was important Also close to City sightseeing bus facility
My own errors in travelling between Montmartre and my residence late at night when I went the wrong way and the confusion occasional;ly experienced leaving Gare du Nord
