The staff are friendly and accommodating, never rude or put-out; the hotel is beautifully decorated and the location is magnificent (walking distance to everywhere you would want to go). The hammam pool is a wonderful way to start a romantic trip - a lovely touch. The room was smaller than expected, considering the price, but it was beautiful nonetheless.

Staff are fantastic and very helpful without being stuffy or snooty. We had a problem with flooding in our bathroom one night - caused a another guest - and were immediately upgraded without fuss and many apologies. The hotel is very atmospheric (only 20 rooms) and very intimate with good facilities. The bar and restaurant were excellent too and a very good location to explore Paris from by foot. The private pool is very special too. The drinks prices in the bar are eye-wateringly expensive (17 euros a gin and tonic) and the restaurant is Michelin starred so expect it to be expensive too, although both are very good and in line with other top places. No coffee or tea in the rooms either but it is a wonderful place. Ideal for our honeymoon.

The location is superb, the staff is very friendly and the rooms have personality and charm. Moreover, the bed is extremely comfortable. The pool and sauna in the basement are an added positive attraction. While the hotel is very charming, the rooms are much too small and at that sort of price range, one should be able to expect space to unpack and put ones luggage without the feeling of camping out. The same is true for the bathroom; very attractive and full of marble but much too small to be very practical.

There were two highlights--(1) we were upgraded two levels without requesting it, so we had a very large, interesting room that otherwise would have been too expensive and (2) the man at the desk when we checked in investigated and found a wonderful solution to our dining dilemma. We wanted to eat well but we were there for only one night and we had an 8:00 pm performance to attend and an early flight the next morning. His recommendation of a restaurant that served very early, was near the Salle Pleyel and was excellent really enhanced our night. Without the room upgrade that we were given, we would have thought that the prices were much too high for the quality of the room. Our upgrade of two levels resulted in a good value, but it's not one that we can expect if we returned. Our bed was placed on a platform which made the room fun to look at but made navigating in the dark a little treacherous.

Charming hotel with lovely helpful staff and great location if you want to be on the left bank. Unique and very original style of decoration. Cosy bar and apparently a very good small Michelin starred restaurant (I didnt eat there as it was closed for the two nights I was there .. sunday and monday nights). I had a room at the back of the hotel which I would recommend if you want a quiet room. The rooms and bathrooms are really quite small. Fine for a couple of nights but I think more than that I would have started to feel a bit cramped. Can be a bit of a problem when you order breakfast in your room as there is really very little space to put the breakfast tray. However that would not necessarily put me off. However not the place to stay if you want, for example, large walk in shower and plenty of space. However the unique style and helpful staff goes some way to making up for this.

Staying at L'hotel was an experience by itself. It is a well hidden jewel with many surprises. If traveling as a couple it is a must to reserve the intimate pool experience. It was one of the most romantic moments of my life. You must also have a drink at the cozy bar where you can have legendary drinks.

“We found this hotel to be in the perfect location for a wide varity of restaurants, pubs and we walked to all attractions from the hotel(we are in our late 30's / early 40's). It's an 8min. walk from the RER B station(train from airport). We would stay there again and would recommend to friends.” Darren, Hopedale |
