décoration salle de bain
The location was good (near both RER and Bus stops). The hotel was clean and the breakfast of good quality.
My room was rather small, with very little storage space, especially for suits and long clothes. The Wifi was very poor reception.
- the free wifi - the room is clean every morning - the staff is great with big smile - the location
the room is very small
Good choice for leisure But the air inside is poor
Excellent interior room with Moroccan theme design, very friendly helpful staff, good safe location next to tram and metro stations, nice basic breakfast , many retail shops and halal restaurants nearby , good value for money deal.
the internet blocking downloads.
Staff were friendly and rooms were cute. Nice and convenient, especially for the Eurostar. Quiet location. Simple and nothing flash but enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.
Nothing we didn't like
Nice ambiance in the room, location near to good eateries and metro stations
Confusing lighting system..
Great personel, very clean rooms, on first floor wi-fi was excellent, unique rooms, water pressure perfect - I want to come back :)
hmm, small room and I think it`s all ;)
Nice neighbourhood Not too far from Metro Beautiful rooms Very very helpful staff!
Split Mattress Not very soundproof bathroom Poor WiFi reception in rooms
Location is OK Price is acceptable
Tiny, really tiny room Fake Moroccan "decoration" of rather poor taste Quality of the bedding is poor No staff visible except a clerk in a small booth in the hallway
Villa Royale Montsouris on 144 Rue de la Tombe Issoire was our address for one week of this summer vacation. This Moroccan style hotel, different from everything we have tried so far, proved to be simply a great choice. Lots of warm colors, blue furniture, a romantic prison-like bathroom door with a small window cut in it and an old type lock bolt, and many other chic details make together an entire Arabic atmosphere that we loved from the very first second in the hotel. There are modern details of course that made our accommodation a cozy intimate one, suiting everyone’s taste: air conditioning (careful, it has an auto-switch if you open the window or the entrance door!), mini-bar, a good breakfast if you choose to pay the price (8.50 euros per day). A strength of Hotel Villa Royale Montsouris is its location, even if not situated in the very heart of the city. But it is near a green oasis (Park Montsouris) and close to the bus and underground station. There are a few important attractions in a walking distance, such as the Catacombs (the famous ossuaries of Paris) and Montparnasse Tower, offering spectacular views of the whole city from the observation deck and terrace. I need to end this review mentioning the staff of the hotel, friendly and helpful at all times (desk is manned 24 hours a day), making the difference between a good place to stay and a homey-like one. One other out of the ordinary thing I need to note regards the housekeeping: impeccable, made on a daily basis, regardless the time (there were days when we left the hotel late in the afternoon). Good-quality towels were changed daily, which is a nice change from the so-called environmentally friendly policies of other hotels, claiming superior status. Original decorations in addition to a good location, friendly staff, good breakfast to start your day with, excellent services, all have worked together to create a quality time and a fine vacation.
Internet access is restricted to the very basic sites and you have to stay in the lobby if you need good internet signal or to connect via VPN for business purposes. The good think is that the reception staff was truly adorable and they kindly helped us to get another connection (a net called free Wi-Fi with a password) which was good and stable and let us do our job and navigate freely. Prices of the mini-bar products are too high, although there are ordinary drinks which you can buy at a fraction of the price tag from any corner shop. Otherwise none of the minibar items are personalized, in different shape or content to make you feel paying for an extra fanciness. Thus potential clients are discouraged to buy and this is a situation that can be easily improved.
The staffs are very friendly and location is very easy to commute.
Quiet, breakfast was ok.
Air conditioning is weak and more like working in fan mode. Also noticed it spreads bad smell. Wifi intermittent, room very small, room safe not well fixed, bathroom door doesn't close well and is squeaky. Street lights facing the room windows. Tub and bathroom sink don't absorb water well. Too expensive for what they offer.
air conditioned rooms
- noise - very very slow internet - small rooms - not enough light in the rooms - rooms not equipped by electric kettles
Excellent quality for the price we paid Great shower Nice staff
Twin beds instead of a regular double's Terrible wifi
Staff were very helpful and as it was a longer stay helped with the language great italian restaurant next door and the park is good if you like running!
being made to pay for water at 6 euros per 0.5 euro bottle was excessive even though i had my own water. also seemed to be only one iron for the hotel which meant it wasn';t always available
I really liked the decoration, moorish style. Location was good.
It was weird that my room had been prepaid, but I still had to pay 1-2 euro for the city tax. They should either charge the whole amount up front, or wait for me to check-out and then charge my creditcard. I don't understand the reason to add this complexity.
couldn't stay longer
Kind and friendly staff, very well designed and decorated rooms.
Free Wi-Fi, kind staff, clean room, beautiful oriental style in the hotel, little bit outside of center, but Metro is just 7-8 min. walk away. Parking in hotel street for tourists only max. 2 hour, but hotel guests get discount in a private garage 7-8 min walk away.
Prices very high +50% during time of French open :-( compared to normal price. Little bit small tiny room, but enough for just sleep between sightseeing days. The first day, the milk at breakfast was sour, but staff changed immediately after we informed them.
hotel with a lot of flair - moroccan theme. Friendly and helpful staff.
Location chosen for business reason, but nothing open on a Sunday night - no restaurant in hotel, either. Wifi in rooms was poor.
Hotel was everything and more. Located 20min from the centre of Paris via Metro. 300 yards from the Metro (Port D'Orleans). Staff and receptionist were exceptional. Perfect from couples and visiting tourist. What you see is what you get. Great Hotel with no problems, wifi good and water pressure perfect. No problem staying here again when visiting Paris
