Résidence Maeva Promenade des Bains  

Basic but everything one needs for a self catering holiday. Good bathroom, worth having a balcony (though view of apartment block opposite) well kitted out kitchen. Helpful staff. Privacy and enough space.

Very sad lounge, dreary. Wifi costs money yet you can only get it in the sad lounge, which closes and you have to go into the drab foyer after that, Wifi is not, alas, in the bedroom. I would recommend some of the following: 1) Updating this MAEVA, it is like going back to the 70s! -2) SOUNDPROOFING the rooms. The wooden floors in rooms and corridor mean that you hear sounds loudly on all sides. -3) WIFI in each room. -4) Beds are either bunk beds or fold up canapés. They are OK but could be more comfortable, worth investing in new ones.

It's well located -- no noise from the street yet near the beach. If one wants to travel by train, the station is also near.

The rooms are very small for four people. It suffices, but in case of a bad weather, we would be crammed in there with only a little space to just turn around. I wouldn't also expect, that a four-people room means here a bunk bed for two and an extra bed for the other two. With the room size in mind, it was necessary though. Parking places provided below the hotel were also small. They sufficed, but it was hard to get there -- we had to drive only centimeters from the columns and walls surrounding our place.

Place itself (St.Raphael) is just excellent and Residence is located as its best: just turn round a corner and you'll see a sand beach in just 50 M. From other hand - railway station is also close - 200-300 m approx. With frequent rail service to Cannes-Nice (50 min.) -Monaco. Also you can take tgv to Marceille, Lyon, Paris and Lille directly. Boat service to St.Tropez from the port which is also close by. Compare to fashion places like Nice, St.Tropez etc. - beach is better because of sand, sea shore is cleaner and atmosphere is more relaxed, calm and not so glamourous. However you may find fish market working every morning on the port and nearly round-a-clock souvenir market along the promenade of St.Raphael-Frejus beach. Nothing special about residence - we did stay in Maeva's locations before - and here it seems more modest (but do not forget it is almost Cote d'Azur). But you'll find everything you need - kitchenette with full set kitchenware etc., including dish-washer, microwave oven and 2-hob electric stove. There is an airco, but we did not use it (except 1 night, but it was a bit noisy because quite old model) - fresh air in the night was ok. Balcony is highly recommended - it is more expensive but you'll get an opportunity to have relaxed dinner outside a room. What is also recommended - to buy their cleaning kit (cost 7 Euro: washing liquids, tablets for dishwasher, rag). On-site underground parking is also ok, yet a bit narow and tiny (typical). There are several shops nearby - Monoprix, Spar. Those bigger (Carrefour, Geant etc.) are within 10-15 min.driving. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Some more references can be found on Tripadvisor etc.

As in several references - pillows (just flat), sofa bed (it was ok for us, but some people may feel uncomfortable). Tiny parking (however it is better solution than trying to find parking place on the street). Please also make sure to arrive strictly during reception working hours. Overall it was very positive experience (and 2nd excellent Maeva experience).

Ménage correct, sans plus (toilettes de la salle de bains en particulier) ; dans l'idéal, fournirait serviettes de toilette et produits d'entretien (vaisselle, ménage...)

La posizione e la cucina molto ben attrezzata.

La ventilazione del bagno non funzionava e lo scarico emanava sempre cattivi odori. Il personale non parla italiano e poco inglese.

Dåligt städat även om det är "självservice" så borde ändå grund ständningen varit bättre och en grovstädning skulle vara på sin plats golvet var mycket smutsigt likaså lister

La proximité de la plage et du centre-ville, et le calme. Le parking privé est pratique, quoique la descente au niveau -2 soit exigüe pour les grosses voitures. Mais l'hôtel est proche du parking Bonaparte (facile d'accès et plus large). Il n'y a pas toujours de permanence à la réception, cela m'a inquiétée car il n'y avait personne pour m'accueillir à mon arrivée, mais on m'a communiqué un code d'accès qui m'a permis de prendre possession de ma chambre.

Le sol de la chambre n'était vraiment pas propre à mon arrivée. Le papier toilette n'est pas renouvelé, il n'y a ni éponge ni liquide vaisselle pour nettoyer. Le client doit se fournir par ses propres moyens. Les draps et les serviettes sont à louer en plus du prix de la chambre, et le client fait son lit à son arrivée.

Hotel très bien situé, à proximité des commerces et de la plage. Appartement spacieux, idéal pour une famille.

La literie! Le canapé-lit grinçait.
