Very nice cottage typoe accommodation with beds upstairs and down with lounge, kitchen, and outdoor covered sitting area which we particularly liked. All facilities were closed when we were there but there are several restaurants in town. Nice grounds and very pleasant sitting outside.
Could do with a facelift - especially on the exterior.
The swimming pool was an excellent size with comfortable seating around the edges. Self catering was very well thought through with everything we needed including washing up liquid and sponges. The view was amazing and the place was incredibly peaceful. The hosts were very friendly and managed to communicate with me despite my terrible French! The site also features a particularly affectionate cat.
At times the wifi was slow but I didn't go on holiday for the wifi!!
* Huge apartment with terrace and great view * nice pool area * perfect location to start hikes/canyoning tours in the region of Bavella * Apartments about 10 min walk from Zonza "downtown" (lots of great restaurants there, try the menu at "L'Auberge du Sanglier" :-) )
* The resort looks like it was built in the 70s - and not much has been done since then - so don't expect top modern furnitures etc. * the breakfast is pretty minimal (even for a french breakfast) and 9 EUR is way too much for this. A supermarket is located in Levie (5 min drive), so go and buy your food there and enjoy breakfast on your own terrace :-)
Big swimming pool
I loved the modernist architecture of the villas , the design echoed the planes and angles of the surrounding mountains beautifully and not obtrusively. Our villa was well equipped and simply furnished with everything you need for a comfortable stay . The pool is wonderful !
I wished the original black woodwork of the villa hadn't been repainted pistachio green.
The local area was great, with lots of lovely walks and rivers to swim in. The pool area was luxurious and the villas were well spaces with lots of open space.
Although the villa was a decent size the decor was basic, especially the kitchen and bathroom.
Reasonably close walking distance to Zonza The friendly and service minded personnel The renovated pool deck The free tennis courts (free racket lending as well)
These "villas", which I believe are described as independent, are grouped in pairs, so closely that you could almost pass over the bread to your neighbour when having breakfast on your terrace. Les "villas", qui je crois sont décrites comme indépendentes, sont groupées par paires, et tellement rapprochées que de la terrasse, on peut quasimment tendre le pain à son voisin au petit déjeuner. The décoration, the mini (super mini!!) kitchen and bathroom, the beds: everything is way overdue for renovation. It's like going back to the seventies, and the smell that goes with it: cheap industrial lemony cleaning products. Horrible. Last but not least: it was impossible to sleep in the mezzanine under the roof due to 1. extreme heat and 2. the rattle mice galoping over our heads! As a result, my family of four ended up sleeping downstairs, adults in each their single bed and kids in each the "drawer bed" under a single bed. From our terrace, we had a view on the underside of the pool, which top was nicely renovated, but the walls sustaining it are completely decrepit, as if they had barely survived wars and bombings. When looking on the side, most of the view was the neighbouring terrace. While we would have found all this acceptable at a price that would reflect it, we found 140EUR a night way overpriced.
a little oasis in the mountains after some hectic days amongst the crowds on the coast. Nice pool (bit cold) great tennis courts, friendly staff, wonderful location. Units are clean, friendly staff
Units are a bit dated especially from a self catering perspective. we had a problem with one of the elements on the stove which didn't work. A microwave would have been good.
Having our own kitchen and outdoor terrace. Very good easy but interesting walks in the area. Big pool, tennis courts.
Accomodation below standard, would have been acceptable in the 1960's, supplied a coffer perculator but unfortunatly no cup. We had a visitor in the room one evening it was a rat running along one of the beams, it escaped into a hole in the ceiling fortunately we were leaving the next morning. Facilities offered including tennis had to be paid for on an hourly basis this was not made clear on the property write up
Nice concept of living in the nature but with a possibility to spend an evening in a nearby central square with restaurants. Wonderfull big swiming pool with comfortable sunbeds. Privacy in houses with terrasses. Very clean inside and outside.
Pity that there is no view on mountains all around. Heavy blanket on the bed. Missing butter knifes in the kitchen.
Staff were very friendly and helpful Pool area is fantastic Lots of area for kids to run around Great location - 5 to 10 minute walk to town centre Its set back from main road Great value
The clothes cupboards were slightly musty
Wonderful place, near Zonza and Bavella. Excelent swimming pool, big and clean. Nice apartment in a bungalow with mountain view.
Nicely located, nice park
Outdated flat, eerie feeling
A lovely setting, a very pleasant site, easy to find, and only about 1 km from the town centre. There was plenty of space in our villa and always hot water. Kitchen was well-equipped.In general the establishment was very clean and well-maintained.
The feeling that so early in the season (May 13-20) we were almost the only visitors on the site and it wasn't really open. There was very little presence at reception. In the evenings we were very cold - we didn't realise there was heating in the villa! Breakfast (not necessarily available) was only moderate and one can eat better up in town for much the same price, but it was a convenience v. quality choice. There's always the self-catering option, though. It would be reasonable to have a washing-up liquid dispenser and a brush for cleaning dishes provided in the kitchen.
