I chose Radisson Blu instead of cheaper competition because, 2 days
before Christmas, I was on my way to stay with relations in England
and decided to treat myself to a nice hotel. I expected to enjoy a
drink in the bar, a pleasant meal in the restaurant, perhaps a massage
in the spa, and early next morning a free shuttle to the airport. None
of this happened!
Marco de Mauro, the seemingly absent hotel manager, had decided to close the bar, restaurant and spa, and cancel the shuttle WITHOUT WARNING. My booking was made well in advance. I was not the only disappointed guest staying.
When I asked about food, the girl in reception said I must walk to the airport to find any food or drink. I'm female, in my late 60s with a hip replacement. Walking 15 mins each way at night in an unknown area, over rough ground and dodging traffic, to seek airport sustenance is NOT what I signed up for. Is it what YOU would expect?
Even the night manager did not apologise for the shortcomings. (She arrived for duty in the hotel shuttle bus, I observed! One rule for staff, another for paying guests.)
The hotel happily took my money, but did not supply the facilities promised. Have they no shame? (I'm also writing to the chairman of Radisson's main board.)
Convenient for the airport. Parking (unsupervised) charged in room rate.
