- The proprietors are a fantastic couple, always friendly and helpful, as well as a great baker / cook and masseuse. They run a comfortable and clean, modern place. They also speak French, German and English – at least. - Our room was one of the two rooms at the rear of the property. These are excellently located with a nice, peaceful view across and up a peaceful, low, rolling valley. We could also go directly from our French windows to our own outdoor sitting area and on to the pool and Jacuzzi, which are fabulous as well as always very clean and relaxing. - The free usage of good, well maintained modern bicycles (complete with first aid kit) is an excellent benefit. - There are interesting, old villages, chateaux, etc. to visit around the area, either on foot, by bike or car. The gently, hilly and curvy country lanes also look great for motorbikes. - Bicycle and walking excursions can be done directly from the guest house, covering all degrees of length and hardship, from short and very easy to long and arduous. Raymond can advise you and you can chose length / severity to suit yourself. There also good have maps that you can borrow.
- Although generally well behaved, the large German Sheepdog did force itself on guests at times, though not in an aggressive manner. Although many guests seem to fall in love with him, I did witness on 4 or 5 occasions on the 5 enjoyable nights / days we stayed there, that he drove some guests less comfortable with (large) dogs in to retreating to their rooms to avoid him. I do not think that those affected made the owners aware of this occasional problem. But, it is a good natured, friendly dog and I doubt it would be any problem with children under supervision. - The neighbouring room’s sitting area (table and chairs) was directly outside our bathroom window; the window was next to our toilet. We could hear everything they said and the smell of any food or cigarettes, etc. they had wafted in through our toilet window. Similarly, any noises or odours from inside our bathroom similarly went straight out of our window to their sitting area... - We were expecting a building / location with more of the local, rustic, architectural character / charm; but the building is next to some modern homes for the villagers and is itself of a modern, fairly anonymous style. However, because of this it is probably more comfortable, convenient to live in and easier to maintain and keep clean, so this is a benefit as well as perhaps a bit of a visual surprise on arrival.
