Relais De Moussidiere  

The Relais is in an excellent location just outside of Sarlat. While difficult to find the first time, it is on lovely grounds and is eccentrically, though charmingly, decorated. Patrick and Veronique were the staff members who were exceptionally nice to us. Patrick gave us excellent recs for restaurants. The hotel is well-located for exploring the area, quiet, with a very good breakfast. Ample parking. I would recommend the high-end rooms as the regular ones are somewhat small, though practical. The superior rooms were large and lovely.

The directions to the hotel need to be clarified. If you are coming in from Gourdon, at the round-about that allows you to go to Sarlat or Bergerac, head left towards Bergerac and the Dordogne Valley. A Casino Grocery store(big!) is on the near left corner of the roundabout. After you head that way, a Citroen dealer is on the left and immediately following is a small road to the left. If you find that, you're in good shape.

The staff was amazingly helpful and the hotel is unique, quaint, and very comfortable. There is a lovely poolside with poolside dining available. There are several interconnected sitting areas and it is all located in a country setting while only minutes away from the Medieval city of Sarlat, one of the best to visit. The hotel caters to groups and generally provides only breakfast to others. However, we asked and the chef personally invited us to stay for dinner. It was one of the best meals we had in France and the entire staff treated us like royalty. We were very sad to have to leave this place.

Just one word of caution. The hotel roadway entrance is difficult to find at first. It looks like someones driveway off a very busy street. It is right next to a Citroen car dealership. To add to the confusion, the road dept. Had evidently knocked over the hotel sign where we were to turn. A gps is a must anyway if you're driving in Europe. All we can say is, trust your gps when you're instructed to make the turn even though it doesn't like right. The hotel and it's location are well worth it.

Room decor a little dated

Patrick, the concierge/manager, was willing to arrange a special dinner for us to celebrate our anniversary, even though the hotel ordinarily doesn't offer restaurant service. The dinner was wonderful, and the special attention by the chef and his partner were memorable. We couldn't have been more pleased.

Nice large rooms, friendly helpful staff, great location for exploring the Dordogne and country sites.

Breakfast was very disappointing

The Hotel was a delight. The rooms and facilities were excellent. Staff were friendly and efficient. Will reccommend it to friends and family.

The room was larger than expected and much nicer than similar hotels in this area of France. The location was very good for visiting Sarlat. The staff went out of their way to be helpful. The breakfast was very good.

Veronique and Monique were absolutely gorgeous, they could not have been kinder to our daughter and helped us out alot. A very pleasant place to stay. We would have stayed a week if time permitted.

Beautiful park. Relaxing natural setting. Enjoyable eating breakfast on the patio with view of the gardens and woods. They have family rooms that comfortably fit 4 people. Staff is very nice. Pool would be wonderful in during the summer (pool is not heated although some people swam in April).

Calme, chambre pour 3 personnes confortable, très propre.Belle décoration intérieure de l'hôtel, personnel agréable. Belle piscine. Buffet de petit déjeuner très correct.

difficile voire impossible de capter sur réseau SFR. Aucun problème pour Bouygues...

On a beaucoup aimé létablissement, surtout les jardins, le lac,l'environement......Trés bien
