Lovely modern and decent sized rooms, spotlessly clean. The rooms were of a high standard, nice large very comfortable beds. The dinner menu though choicewise a bit limited was adequate and the food was excellent. the manager an his wife were lovely people, the manager could speak english but his wife couldnt but that did not stop them going out of their way to help and assist in anyway they could to make your stay as nice as possible.Town centre is about 10 mins walk by foot, with plenty of cafes, bars and good shops and plenty places to eat. we will definaterly be returning to this hotel really couldnt fault it.

The proximity to the old city is great, only 5-10 minutes on foot. The walls are quite thin, we could easily hear our neighbors. The wifi signal did not reach our room.

The room was clean and well furnished for budget hotel accommodation. Comfortable for a one or two night stay. Easy to find. Staff were polite and efficient. Relatively close to the city centre where several excellent restaurants are located. Good value for money. The on-site car parking is very limited but unrestricted parking is available at the roadside in adjacent streets. Breakfast somewhat overpriced but several excellent patisseries located a short distance away. Road noise is a problem - as there is no mechanical ventilation/air conditioning so from late spring to early autumn the windows must be left open during the night - there is significant traffic from 6am onwards. Ground floor accommodation suffers from a security issue - easy access through open windows.

The proximity to the city centre? The reception staff was fairly agreeable. The room was miniscule and had a very unpleasant smell, which the cleaning staff apparently tried to cover up whith vanilla scented air fresheners. The toilet seat was flimsy and broken. We checked out after one night.

It is important to distinquish between the 2 Kyriad hotels @ this venue. On this site there is ease of parking & a 10min walk to town. In our rooom on arrival there was broken toilet seat & no pillow cases. Little English spoken by receptionist who was doing everything (including fixing toilet & pillow cases) An enormous tv had multiple channels-non of them in English. Help yourself buffet breakfast was only adequate, replenished by an indifferent female member of staff. We would not stay again. J & c j Boot (Sept) 20111

There was plastic slippers in the room. But only one. And hotel made a welcome gift — bottle of water (0,33). We had double room instead twin. Wifi didn't work, room door didn't close, ground floor with street view, no light at the corridor during the night. It was 2 meters to cars passes by from our window. It was quite noisy because of hiatus in window. Bathtub wasn't clean, because there is an airshaft right above and because the wall in bathroom was covered by wet chipboard. Doors are closed at 10 pm (you must use back- door in this case). And after all the guy on the reception told me he couldn't fix any of those problems till 9 am, and we shouldn't worry about locker in 009 room, because it's safe in the hotel.

I would like to say that the lack of air conditioning in what must be a relatively new hotel was a major problem. The temperatures were exceptionally hot and nobody in the party could sleep very well it was so hot in the room(s). We couldn't leave the window open as it went straight onto the street with a sticker on it suggesting it should be closed. This oversight really did impact badly on us as we were stopping off for one night travelling from Italy to London. I am almost certain that this point would have been raised by others it was so hot in the hotel.

It was nice to find a tea and coffee boiler in the room. The hotel isn't very central and we had a hard time to find it. Pls pay attention to the fact that the reception closes at 11:00 pm.

My stay of only one night at Kyriad Colmar Cite' Administrative turned into a ghastly nightmare. I arrived in the early evening and checked in. Then later, I went out to dinner in the center of Colmar and returned quite late to the hotel. The manamement had retired and there was no one on duty at the front desk. I went up to my room but soon realized that I had forgotten something in my car. I went out to get what I had left in the car but for a few seconds forgot that that the door locked automatically. But then it was too late. I had left my key inside the room and there was no way to get back inside. I searched all over the hotel for any way to alert the manager, but there was no provision for getting help. Consequently, I had to spend the rest of the night in my car and basically got no rest. The next morning, when the manager finally reappeared, I complained to him that there was no way to get help in such an emergency, and not only did he not offer an apology, but simply blamed me for forgetting my key in my room. NOW,,,,the incompetence and boorishness of the manager aside, I think you have to re-think the way you conduct your business. If you insist on having no one on duty at night, then you should do what ETAP does and have a code for the doors of the rooms as well as the front door. It is all too easy to forget your key for just a few seconds and then it's too late. In addition, you should have an emergency number posted clearly and an emergency phone place in the corridor so that help can be obtained. But...as it stands now, I would never stay in another Kyriad hotel and I would advise my friends to avoid your establishments as well.

The room was fine, and they offered a water boiler and tea/coffee/cookies. That was nice :-) We found it a little bit hard to find, maybe because we forgot to carry a map.

“The hotel was the chosen because it was close to the centre of Colmar and was 80 euros for a double - only 10 euros more than the other two star hotels which were all near rthe railway station. Excellent staff, great location, very comfortable room with airconditioning. Should be 3 star.” Matt, Frankfurt |
