Hotel felt secure and welcoming. It was Ok but not a knockout.

ur room was not available, so we were offered a lesser room with a big reduction in price. This meant that our experience was "just OK" rather then "wonderful" as we were expecting.

We had stayed at Releais before, an then we did like the hotel. But the last time our stay was much better and the hotel has improved a lot in any sense. Congratulations for them

A great boutique hotel in the quiet streets of Paris. Close to a metro station, Luxembourg Gardens and many great restaurants. Wonderful, helpful staff. Perfect for a quiet relaxing stay in Paris.

Simply wonderful. I have stayed in many Pairs hotels and this was the best. Small, friendly, clean, quiet, good bed, good location, friendly staff, authentic.

This was our second stay at this excellent boutique hotel. Upon arrival at 8.00am, after a 15 hour flight, an upgraded room was ready for us. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and go out of their way to please giving advice from restaurants and public transport to cultural events. We were made to feel very much at home and will definitely return on our next visit to Paris.

The breakfast offering could be improved and in particular the selection of eggs.

The staff was great, very helpful. It's in a quiet location, near the se corner of the Luxembourg Garden. Its a very nice property, very friendly and homey...a nice little bar and lounge area too.

My bed wasn't the best. Im a big guy and had trouble getting comfortable in the 2xtwins. I had a small room, which was ok, because I was only there for one night, but there really wasn't any workspace, I.E. for a laptop or anything. If you're going to be there for any length of time I would book a larger room.

Very nice to be in a quiet neighborhood in Paris. The hotel is two blocks from Luxemburg Gardens, and a few blocks from the Pantheon. It is also two blocks from the metro, and a short walk to the busier parts of the city. The hotel is small, so no feeling of being overwhelmed by other guests coming and going. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again if I return to Paris.

Nothing wrong with this place from my perspective.

The hotel is in a great location with easy access to the Metro & rer lines. It's also within easy walking distance to may areas & attractions of interest. There is a large choice of restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is small and cozy with very friendly and helpful staff. We had an awesome room with a small blacony (the only room in the hotel with a balcony). The room was a decent size.

Minor - There were couple days when our glasses were not replaced/cleaned but were turned over as though clean, however there were no cleanliness with either the hotel or room itself.

It was charming and the bedroom and bathroom were good size to Paris`s standards.

Once the mix up with the rooms had been sorted, all went very well after that. It was in a good location and the staff were very helpful. I would stay there again for sure.

There was a mix up with the rooms when we arrived. Having travelled on overnight train from Madrid we were all exhausted and had to wait from 10:30 until afternoon which is the regular check in time so I probably reacted more than I usually would have to the mix up in the rooms. (We settled into 2 separate rooms - my son had already fallen asleep right away - when we were advised those were not our rooms ... so we dragged our bags to other rooms, which were not what I'd booked (I'd booked one with a balcony view) .... so they allowed us to return to our previous rooms because one had a fold down double bed in the wall so we were all able to stay together in 2 adjoining rooms....

I liked the position of the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and also the air conditioning made sleeping at night during the hot weather very comfortable.

Sadly we found the breakfast a disapointment after our previous experience last year. Although we didn't eat late we found the hot food quite cold and dry. Also the rolls were stale and most of the pastries had gone and not been replaced. Finally we thought 17 euros each was rather expensive for the breakfast provided compared with experiences we have had in other 4 star hotels.

Very quiet and nice place to sleep.

For a four star hotel, breakfast was moderate.

Firstly, the staff were so lovely - front reception, cleaning staff and lady in the breakfast area. View of Pantheon was fantastic ! We really enjoyed our stay very much and look forward to returning.

All was great and I will recommend to my family and friends.

This hotel does not deserve 4 stars. It compares to the score of 3-star establishments one can find in the 5th, 6th and 7th arrondissement. Paris is infamous for the small footprint of its hotel rooms. The Relais Saint-Jacques surpasses all I have seen so far in comparable parisian hotels. The price they charged, notwithstanding the elevated request of hotel rooms in the period, is disproportionate to the size of the rooms and adjoint bathrooms (in my first night, the shower pit did not even have a curtain ... you can imagine the mess on the wet floor). Furthermore, internet connection, although free-of-charge, did not always work impeccably. Last but not least, I had never seen before a 4-star hotel with no bar service. Actually, there is a sort of common sitting room with a bar: that's 100% self-service and arguably very limited in terms of offering. The night-shift guy was willing to help, which I'm very thankful for, but - again - this is hardly in line with a 4-star raiting. I have been regularly going to Paris, twice monthly, for more than 20 years. I will never go back to this hotel. Many more and better ones are to be found in the same neighborhood.

Small hotel with an attentive staff.

The staff was extremely friendly, the room was of a reasonable size considering French standards, location was good although Luxemburg rer station is not the cleanest and safest of all stations (beware of gipsies!), the Latin Quarter added a lovely and noisy youth touch to the experience and the Seine was a few blocks away. On my wife's birthday the stuff gave us a champagne bottle as a present and that put a smile on our face after an episode with a gipsie where we were robbed 60 euros the day after we arrived to Paris..

If you come from the non-french world bring your power adapter. We needed one and the hotel apparently had all stock lent to passangers so they referred us to a small shop nearby where we bought one, that costed us 9 euros and didn't work. The following day, when we told the stuff about that wrong purchase they promptly gave us one from a cluttered bag from a store room (?) and the shop didn't dive us a refund. The hotel should have had enough stock in the first place so we could have endded up being 9 euros richer.
