Henri was excellent and so very kind, patient and helpful. The bed and linens were very good. The location is convenient. The bathroom was tiny but very well appointed.
The room had hardly any space for luggage for two people. The closet was tiny and we had to leave all our clothes in our suitcases.
This is a very conveniently situated Boutique Hotel, for the sights around the Seine, with fast Metro connections. We will certainly stay there again. Great breakfast.
Only one chair in the sitting area. The beams in the room were really quaint but made the bathroom a bit awkward. The air con was not very efficient.
Superb location at the heart of the rive gauche, friendly and considerate service from the staff. Spotlessly clean with a proper bath as well as shower. Wide choice of good, reasonably-priced restaurants nearby.
Air-conditioning was a bit noisy.
The charm was excellent, the authentic beams etc.
I didnt like the persistent banging noise . Perhaps the water pipes. Sounded like someone was pounding pipes with a hammer. ALL THE TIME, WHATS UP WITH A 3 euro per day minibar tax? I think the price is already too high. They charge for far too much. I took a shuttle to the airport from two different hotels. The first set it up and charged 17 euros. This place set it up and charged 8 euros for them and 18 for shuttle. Just seemed to add costs unfairly. I would say it is a 3 star not four star gotel
Wi fi didn't always work
Loved the feeling of history, although there were modern facilities like air conditioning and modern bathrooms. The members of staff were friendly.
The lift was too small, so we mainly used the stairs.
Welcoming and helpful staff.
The tiny size of the room, surprising for such an expensive hotel. Had three times the room in a 3 star hotel down the stree.
Very clear leadership especially from Manager Henri. The attitude was always the customers needs have priority. Henri was able to get us high quality restaurants almost every day of our 12 day stay. We will return.
Henri, the manager did everything to make our stay perfect. He booked dinner reservations, booked tours and taxis to the airport. He gave us excellent directions on how to take the metro to a remote location to a restaurant we wished to try. The hotel location is excellent within one block of the metro, walkable to Notre Dame and St. Chapelle, Musée D'Orsay, and the Louvre. Many restaurants and cafés within walking distance. Lively vibe!
The air conditioning in the hotel did not work well and even though we were on the first floor, it was very hot in the tiny room we had. Because we faced the street we could not leave the window open due to the noise from the street. Other front desk staff was not accommodating in trying to cancel a museum tour Henri had made when the person became ill. The hotel is quaint and historic, but the room was EXTREMELY small for two people and their luggage. No room to maneuver. The breakfast offered was very expensive. We opted to walk 2 blocks to Starbucks and get coffee and croissant for 1/2 the price. Free internet is available, but every time you opened your computer, you had to re-connect and sign on so write down the long password and access number it gives you. One has to re-sign up everyday :-( Annoying. Despite everything, when my plane was cancelled, I booked myself back in this hotel because I knew what I was getting! Second room was much larger, but still hot!
A fabulous location, tucked in a little street very close to everything however quiet as anything to sleep. Authentic Parisien hotel with incredible decor. All we expected and would definitely stay again.
Nothing of note..
Lots of positives here..great location for access to metro, RER (for quick airport transfer) and all the attractions near the Seine. Good sized rooms for Paris and top quality pillows, bed, towels and a bathrobe and slippers.
Even though hotel is down a side lane way, the traffic from the road was very loud (Saturday night). When booking I considered the Hotel to be on the expensive side. When we arrived we got no great welcome and indeed one of our group was informed they would have to change rooms after one night. This news was not delivered with an apology...it was almost like we were to blame! Overall, even without this poor service, my group would not consider the added comforts worth the considerable expense up from a good 2-3 star.
Location, staffs, all nice. We just walking distance from notredame church, restaurants and shops. We luv it.
Cleanliness, location, white bedding, caring hosts, comfortable bed, modern bathroom, hotel retained character
Tight for room but this is common in Paris and breakfast was average. Fresh fruit was limited.
The location was superb. The hotel is amazing, is very commendable.
Excellent location close to Notre Dame, restaurants, shops, Big Red Bus stop. Very nice décor, bedding and comfortable sleeping. Bathroom very small but clean and updated. Good WiFi reception. We thought the breakfast offered was expensive, but when compared to the sidewalk cafes, it is very reasonable. Henri was most accommodating and helpful.
The room was tiny and we had to live out of our suitcases. There wasn't much room for the suitcases either, but once we got used to it, we found it OK. The street front rooms are very noisy in the mornings.
This hotel is in an excellent location. Overall the hotel is clean and staff were helpful. Room are very small but what is expected in old area of Paris at the price paid.
It would have been great to have access to an iron for our cloths.
Always love the decor and the elegant selection of coverings etc. It is a very luxurious little hotel, tucked away quietly in the bustling St Germaine. This was our 2nd stay and we would return.
Not having a kettle was the only downside, however, they were very obliging and provided us with hot water upon request. Hardly, a downside, really!
This hotel is in such a great location...so close to the Seine, Notre Dame, St. Michel metro stop, cafes, bars...anything you need or want. The room that we had (#27) was an Executive Twin Room with the beds pushed together...very comfortable...larger than you would expect for Paris. The hotel is on a side street so not much in the way of traffic noise...we had two windows that opened out onto the street and never had any noise issues. Henri at the front desk was a superstar. One of our bags was delayed in arriving and Henri went out of his way to make sure that the airport folks got that bag delivered to us. We will never stay anywhere else while in Paris...this is it for us!
The Wi-fi was out the first day and our A/C started leaking after the first night...but both were fixed expeditiously so no complaints really.
Very good location.
With temperatures in the 80's, we had no air conditioning for two days. They gave us a fan for the room. We were told each day that it would be fixed--no luck. We had no wi-fi for 24 hours-- no one to fix it. The tub did not drain for the entire 4 day stay. Every time we requested it be fixed we were told they knew nothing about it.
Very nice room but very small with a king size bed ! Cobwebs between the ceiling beam ! Need more attention to details all around. But overall excellent and great location.
The location was great
Wifi was out all the time we were there and only on our last night was I offered to use their computer to check to see if I had any urgent emails. Our shower was mouldy!
The hotel was in a great location, easy to walk to many attractions or take the Metro if preferred. Shame one of the lines was closed for works but otherwise great. The breakfast was ample enough to create a lunch from as well, so in that respect it was good value for money. I stayed for the charm of the rooms and the location and would stay again in future.
No kettle to make your own tea however this is a common complaint of french hotels.
Loved this hotel and would recommend to anyone visiting Paris and looking for an ideal location to walk around and take in the Parisian culture. Staff were fantastic also.
*5 star service (I arrived a bit earlier and my room was already ready) *free Wi-Fi and availability to print-out boarding passes *amazing showers *quiet location
