View from room due to construction work outside, so only temporary problem.

We loved everything about this hotel. The charming very french rooms, the elevator, decor and meals. The staff were so helpful and friendly. We will be back to stay here again!

A nive, comfortable, quirky hotel well worth a return visit

The lift is tiny

Excellent location, near to everything and yet tucked away in a quiet street. Full of character. Our room had a lovely mezzanine: ideal for coffee. Very clean.

Rooms are very small. It is definitely not a 4*, therefore the price is not right. Breakfast is far too expensive, avoid it, go somewhere else, there are so many nice cafes around. No coffee/tea facility.

Location, nice breakfast, unusual room decoration, 2 Russian tv channels.

Neither bar nor a simple teapot in the hotel in the evening. View from the windows - even worth than nothing.

-The location was good for us as we wanted to be in the Latin District. This hotel is very close to buses/trains, restaurants, shopping, etc. The price of breakfast at the hotel is ridiculously expensive, but there are lots and lots of options within a 5-10 min walk away. We enjoyed exploring the local area. -The older man on staff in the evenings was very nice and extremely helpful. He was able to answer all of our questions and make enquiries for us. He also arranged for a van to take us to the airport for about half the price of a taxi. -There is an elevator in the hotel and although it is small, we were grateful to have it as we had a heavy bag to take to the 3rd floor.

-The lady on day staff was very very rude. -We were awoken just before 8:00am by a very loud drill drilling into the headboard of our bed whilst we tried to sleep. The drilling did not stop until after 5:00pm. We complained to the staff (lady at reception) who told us 'it is not hotel construction; therefore, it is not our problem. You just need to deal with it.' I think the attitude of the staff was worse than the loud/vibrating construction on our bed wall. -We live in London. Woke up early in the morning to go to our jobs, then went to the airport in the late afternoon to catch a plane to Paris so we could have a nice, relaxing weekend away. By the time we got to Paris and got a train to Notre Dame and then carried our luggage to the hotel, it was late in the evening and we were exhausted and just wanted to sleep; therefore, we did not appreciate being woken up at 8am by loud drilling into the bed wall and we did not appreciate the rudeness and lack of understanding of the staff on duty. Overall, we paid over 700 Euros for a small hotel room that had construction coming through the wall and we were told 'just deal with it' by staff. We were not pleased. Perhaps on another trip this hotel would be fine (without the construction), but I think the next time we go to Paris we will try a different hotel as the staff could have handled the situation very differently. -We felt the price of the hotel was high for what we received. At the end of the day, I guess you pay for the location?

Individual rooms with character, helpful staff who booked evening entertainments and restaurants for us. Good breakfast and excellent location for Metro and sights. Close to restaurants of all different types.

The hotel team is superb and we would give it a high 8.5 rating .The welcome was inviting. The room was not large but was top floor and airy and well equipped. We were nicely surprised by the standard of the bathroom and shower facilities and indeed by the bathroom accessories and towels. The security was good and the staff could not have been more accommodating and helpful, as sadly our French is weak ! They offered us a lovely choice of outside restaurants. The fact this small hotel had night reception staff and we didn't have to deadline our return in the evenings was a nice facility. Also the long window for breakfast hours was excellent for leisure travells (0800-1200hrs). Locatio, location, location - could not have been better as a base for local shopping in St Germaina and St Michel and a plethora of international restaurants for all budgets.

The only shortfall was the lack of a coffee/tea facility in the room. We feel that could have been accommodated easily and the overall high standards set by the hotel seemed to make that a mor enotceable omission. A guide to using the convection heater in English would be a bonus as well !

Central location in the heart of Paris, close to Seine and Notre Dame, ambiance, interior design, friendly service, 2 minutes from Metro.

Size room and bathroom (but given this is Paris and France, it is really OK.

Location and trasportation are very good. The best point for me, the hotel rooms are very clean. And the hotel personel are very helpful and they have smiling face everytime. I stayed two different hotels 20 days ago in Paris but this hotel is better then the other hotels. If you want stay in Paris, my advice is Relais Hôtel du Vieux Paris. Thank You..

THe room while small was very appealing on a number of accounts. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was hot and and was not cramped, the decor was tasteful and the windows opened directly onto a small space decorated with bright flowers. It was very quiet and peaceful. The internet was reliable. I also enjoyed the fact that it was historically important - the Beat poets stayed there!

Staff were great special mention to henry not sure of the french wording was helpful to myself and daughter location was great on the left bank 5 and heaps of eating options.

Friendly and very helpful staff. Nice tidy rooms. Great location. Would definitely stay again when we next visit Paris.

Street can be noisy in the morning, but it would be the same anywhere in Paris.

Location and price

Cramped rooms. Only elevator was out one day. Although we paid the desk clerk 25 euros to secure us a large cap to take us to the airport we were forced to take 2 cabs and were pushing it time wise.

This is a perfect location for seeing all the tourist sights. The staff was very helpful. It was air conditioned. The rooms had just been redone.

Family hôtel and well organized!

Light in the bathroom ! Difficult for shaving! Also they should take time to order the shower, 50% of water due to bad water circulation!

Exceeded expectations - was top notch in every regard

This hotel is the best choice for the reasons: 1) you stay at very silent place in 2 min from the heart of the city 2) you may reach any of well-known places by walking 3) if you're not going to spend time in hotel and wanna walk - this is the best choice: 2 min to Latine quarter with non-stop life, Seine emb., plenty of small restaurants 4) 7 min walking to famous The Procope restaurant opened at 17th century!!! 5) the stuff will help you with any question, very nice!

The staff were very friendly, and helpful. The hotel was very charming, comfortable and a haven away from the busy streets. It was peaceful and welcoming.

The reception is very friendly and very proffessional especially Mr.Franklin who had been given us tips and advice during our 5 days stay in Paris.....the kind reception is the best to start our day in Paris.....

Lovely romantic rooms (the mini suites are best for space). The hotel owners are multilingual and extremely helpful. The location could not be better for all sightseeing and transport by metro. We could not believe how quiet the room was for such a central location.

Lovely restored furniture and fabric wall coverings. Modern bathrooms with luxury soaps, towels, etc. Very close to the metro St. Michel - Notre Dame, which is a major hub for all the metro lines (as well as the RER to go to Versailles). Concierge was very helpful and all his restaurant suggestions were excellent.

Somewhat small-ish room...but you are in central St. Germain, it's to be expected!
